A small but very well laid out site, and if you are after peace this site gives it in spades! We loved hearing the owl opera at night. Everything was immaculately kept by the hardworking and friendly wardens. On a funny negative note my first visit to the showers on my first morning had me beating a quick retreat when I found hornets doing the backstroke in the shower tray! They are attracted to the lights through the open windows at night. I would definitely use this site a lot more if we lived closer. The local farm shop and Hereford Nursery are well worth a visit. A couple of points for dog owners, there are some lovely walks in the area, you don’t need to walk your dog/s around the pitches. And when we were packing up we found dried dog poo under our van! But apart from that a great little site.
Don’t tell everyone!
If your thing is peaceful tranquility coupled with beautiful countryside, then look no further - just don’t tell everyone it’s to be found at Moorhampton on the site of a former county railway station in the heart of Herefordshire.
At the end of a perfect day fall asleep to the sound of the resident owl calling to its mate - magic.

Tranquil and peaceful site
Have just spent 8 nights here and had the most wonderful time. Beautiful countryside on the doorstep of the immaculately kept pitches.
Leave the television at home and just enjoy listening to wildlife!! We will miss the owls hooting every night and early morning….. the lack of phone 3G didn’t impact on us at all.
The wardens are all just …..perfect!! Thank you to John and Carolyn who settled us in on the first two days then Jez, Heather and Abby (dog) who came back after their well-earned break. They all worked so hard and the site is kept in perfect order. Definitely will be back to see this fabulous site again. My husband and I usually use our shower in the caravan but these showers were so powerful and hot not to mention fabulously clean!
Just one bit of feedback - we felt that the lights being turned off on the site is not such a great idea - we understand the light pollution aspect but do worry about some people having a tumble etc….. with the nights drawing in now, maybe the lights should be on? Very dark so please have a torch with you…..
Perfect tranquility
We've just had the perfect week at Moorhampton and we didn't want to come home! The site was immaculate, facilities spotlessly clean, and the staff were all great - Heather, Jez, Carolyn and John
We'd definitely recommend this site, and we're definitely going back!

Lovely site, great welcome
Our first trip out as first time motorhome owners. A lovely welcome at the site, very friendly and helpful with our questions. A quiet, peaceful site, as described, perfect for us to find our way around the basics of our new van. Didn't walk too far from site as our dog is not as eager as he once was and there was not much nearby, but Hereford was a 20 min drive away and there's a fantastic farm shop back out on the main road, very well stocked. Site reception has details of a motorhome friendly car park in Hereford, next to the football ground. The facilities at the site were immaculately clean (big congrats on the hard work from all at site). If it's peace and quiet you're after, Moorhampton is perfect. Thanks to all on site for a lovely stay.
Quiet peaceful site
Motorhome stay..
Very nice, clean and well kept site.
Really pleasant wardens who work to keep everywhere looking spic and span. Not too many silly rules either .. that’s a massive bonus.
The toilets and showers are great however they need shower curtains up! The water goes all Over the place so you end up cleaning up Two cubicle floors and if your not careful you end up with wet belongings too. There is a squeeqy to drag water to grid but a proper Mop and bucket would me more use to be honest.
As it clearly states there is no site WIFI. In fact your lucky to get your phone to operate more than 3G with two bars so you definitely get a rest from technology the TV signal was non existent for us as-well 🤣 I use onboard WIFI of my own and just about got Netflix to work in the evening on one bar but it was touch and go 🤣 take DVDs and books.
There is a bus apparently up on the main road to Hereford or Llandrindod Wells but we didn’t test it out.
I like to walk To town or something usually but it was too far for anything like that for us.
You’ll need your torch at night it’s quite dark on site.
All in all we had a restful few days given the above.
I do recommend the site for those who don’t care about phones etc
A Hidden Gem
If you want peace and quiet, in the heart of Herefordshire, then this site, (in our opinion) is where you should be heading.
You will be assured of a very warm welcome from the Site Managers Jez & Heather….they are always out and about keeping their site immaculate and offering guidance to Members on the local area and beyond.
An absolute must is the “Black & White” village trail. Heather will give you the route details.
We love visiting Cathedrals.
Within 20 miles in any direction….Worcester, Hereford and Gloucester, they each have their own story to tell.
No shortage of decent restaurants in any of these beautiful Cities.
Ten days here…not enough!
Thankyou Jez and Heather for your warm welcome and hospitality throughout our stay…we will definitely be coming back to Moorhampton.

Good site - one big MINUS - no internet at all
This was a big minus for us as we like to keep in touch with family in Australia and elsewhere. Site well maintained.
Comment from the Club:
We are glad you enjoyed Moorhampton Club Campsite. Just to let you know for future visits, there is a good WiFi hotspot on this Club Campsite.

Very Special
What a brilliant strategic move by the CAMC to acquire this site. It truly is one of the gems of the network. If you want to just recharge your batteries or use it as a base to explore the wonderful Herefordshire countryside, this is it. The site is well maintained and has some of the most helpful and pleasant Site Managers you could wish to find.
There is an on-site dog walk and nearby public footpaths for you to explore. The peacefulness of the site makes it a welcome oasis. The village of Weobly is worth exploring for pubs and a restaurant. Will definitely book another break here.
A peaceful retreat in beautiful Herefordshire
We spent 4 nights at the Moorhampton Club Campsite quite by chance. Ours was a last-minute booking which turned out to be just what we needed.
After a protracted and very wet spring, what we needed was peaceful countryside and a chance to unwind and enjoy our temporary surroundings.
This quaint site built where a railway station once stood, is tastefully arranged and surrounded by beautiful rural countryside.
The showers and toilets are spotlessly clean and there is always plenty of hot water. For us it isn’t important that this facility isn’t totally modern. It serves its purpose well and is efficiently maintained.
We enjoy being outdoors as much as possible and cycling in the surrounding area was really enjoyable, with a variety of villages and several places to refresh with a hot drink and cake! The architecture also is very interesting and carefully preserved. There is also horse-riding in Clyro if you are interested.
It was a joy to see many very tall, old trees which is so rare in our country nowadays. Naturally the bird life and variety is plentiful with bird song frequently greeting us along the way.
The wardens were always pleasant, helpful, informative and hard working.
Weobley (4 miles north) has a very successful Indian restaurant from which we had one of the best curries’ ever! Also, the Salutation Arms provided a very satisfying evening meal from an extensive menu.
All of these things made our first excursion of the year in our touring caravan a real treat, we even had sunshine for a couple of days, though we couldn’t shake off a chilly N/E wind, it didn’t spoil anything!
We will be returning to this site in the future.
