Ooh dear

Very tight and cramped........bit dull looking into other vans ....no views....pitches small up by number 30 so mhomes had a very difficult time manouvering....loos defo need updating...old plumbing. No barrier security. Could do with taking out pitches giving more space....but don't think that will happen cause the site was full to bursting. Minehead and surrounding areas are v nice....Will come back to minehead but stay elsewhere. Sorry

Bit disappointing

Arrived with guests for their second visit to a CC site(first one to Ferry Meadows two weeks ago). I'm sorry to say that they weren't very impressed. The general look of the site gave the impression that it was a bit run down, especially when the grass was higher than the flower boxes at the entrance, must admit that it was also long in quite a few places, couple this with the fact that the bins at the water point were overflowing for all of Friday afternoon and most of Saturday (another member told us they were emptied in the afternoon),  then I can see what my guests meant. Having said that, the location of the site was very handy with a short walk into Minehead, a Co-op just a short stroll  up the road open all day every day. The Britannia Pub just past the Co-op and along the next right hand road is dog friendly and serves very good food and beers. Dunster castle is a short walk away. The west Somerset Railway is worth a visit especially as you can get a discount of buy one get one half price with your great days out voucher (dogs £2). We would come again as three days wasn't quite long enough to do all we wanted. Did not use the bus service, but was told that it was good.

Superb wardens

The site is slightly hilly and as the toilets and showers are at the bottom of the site it can be a tad difficult for those with mobility problems and located on the upper levels. That said the site is lovely. The huge plus is for the wardens (Mr Mrs Walter) as they are in our opinion, the friendliest and most welcoming wardens we have met on any CC Site. Nothing is too much trouble and it is clear they love what they do and meeting people. A big thank you to them for being so welcoming. I hope the club takes note of these two people as they deserve recognition.

Nice quiet site

We recently stayed at Minehead club site it's quite small with no playground if you have children but they seemed happy enough playing around the site Minehead is a easy walk bout 15 minutes. Minehead is a bit run down and dated but it's ok as a base,  there is a nice walk to duster castle along the beach from Minehead and a steam train that go's to various places, there is plenty of walks to go on, my only gripe is with the people who left there dogs either in there vans and went off out or left there dogs out side the van while they went out for the evening I'm not sure this is either fair on the dogs or the people left on the site Lisening to the dogs whining. My other query is if you bring a cat should they be kept on a lead as the one that was in a van on the site  near us was just left to roam and make himself at home on anybody's camp chairs he could find when his owners went out for the day, we have cats and a dog at home but we like to go out to lots of places they can't , so we don't bring them if your bringing them please look after them ! . We also had the pleasure of a joy rider one evening so perhaps a barrier may be a good idea as site is in a built up area , but overall we did have a nice time .

Very friendly wardens

It was our first long trip away with the caravan and so wasn't sure about timings. We rang the site saying we would be early and were told 11am would be ok. We arrived at 10am so parked up in the lay by opposite the entrance and started organising the interior of the van. Peter the site warden came over and asked if we was ok and wondered if we need a jack for a flat tyre. When I explained we've booked but early they let us on the site. We was allowed to pick any of the vacant pitches and we had a wonderful few days. Just to to say Peter and Eileen are the the most friendliest people I have ever met and nothing was too much trouble. We bought a local map out of the office and they advised us on where to walk and cycle. We will definitely be back and it is so easy to get to the town  Gary & Maggie.

Dog walk with a view!

Very friendly welcome. Facilities as described below - a bit tired but clean and plenty of hot water. Daily van visits with newspapers, bread and milk. Dog walk excellent with wild primroses and a viewpoint out over Minehead and the bay.  Walked into Minehead and sampled a couple of places sitting outside in the sunshine: tea and cake  at Park Lane - very good value and water for the dogs too -  and, further down, coffee and bacon sarnies at the black and white restaurant beginning with a W, but whose name escapes me, which was also very good. (Proprietor is an ex motorhomer). Worth walking along the front to the old harbour. Very pleasant lunch outside at The Ship Aground though I think they may take dogs inside too.

Great for walks

Lovely quiet site, no play facilities for kids (suits us!) Good dog walk on site. Toilets getting old but very clean and even with a full site did not have to wait too long for a shower. Walking to Dunster via the beach or Exmoor national park is very pleasant. Decent pub nearby in Alcome - The Britannia, real ale and food. 15 mins walk into Minehead which is a lovely town if you ignore Butlins; we were surprised! We will be back.

Easter Break

Easy site to find right by fire station, booking inwas easy, very friendly wardens, after booking in you hvae to walk the site to find a pitch you like then go back and pick the car and van to take to the pitch. Very nice clean site, toilets/showers very clean and tidy, water very hot, walk into minehead was aprox twenty minutes thats for me mr snail, the only thought we had was should this be classed as a family site as there is no play area and the kids play on the roads, should this be classed as a adults site ???????. Left open, will we go back to this site again, you bet we will and recommend it to any member.

Lovely site, plenty of space between pitches - great friendly hosts nothing was any trouble. Clean and warm toilet block, lovely hot showers. Although the site was full, never had to queue for anything. Short Walk to town. Shame bus to Lynmouth had been oblished.  Trip to Porlock Wier is lovely, can get motorhome down there no problem.
