Site is in a very good location for shops etc. Felt the facilities although very clean and tidy, needed updating with more toilets & showers for the size of the site! Some arrears of the paths and roads needed sorting as were slippy when wet. Very helpful friendly wardens.
Stayed here for a week recently and thought the site was peaceful, central for mine head and the facilities were cleaned to a high standard. The wardens were also helpful and friendlt
This is our 2Nd visit to this site and was just as good as the 1st, so handy for the town 20 min stroll to town centre the wardens are really 1st class people and helpful, the site is so well looked after clean clean clean, we will defiantly be going back
Only spent one night here on our whistle stop tour of the South West, Minehead site is perfectly placed for families and couples alike to enjoy this lovely seaside town, only 15 minute walk away from the site. The site it self is built around a series of cul de sacs at different levels and is immaculately kept. I suppose a word of caution for members going to Minehead is great care needed on parts of the A39 which runs from Bridgewater to the town it gets quite narrow in places. We shall be back!
We had a lovely week here, so well located for the coast path, and now the west Somerset coast path we walked both ,it's such a glorious place on the edge of exmoor , thank you for a lovely stat .
Having just returned from a 4 night stay (28th Oct - 1st Nov), we thought we would share our experience of this site.
I totally agree with all the other reviews. The lovely friendly welcome from the relief wardens was excellent. As this was our very first proper outing in our first motorhome, they were so helpful. They gave us a choice of pitches, which were huge and very tidy. I opted for the pitch near to the sevice point, which had slightly low water pressure, but hey, that is being picky. Everything on site was spotlessly clean. The toilet/shower blocks were excellent and had plenty of hot water.
Minehead only 15 minutes walk away, but a few minutes walk down the road you can find a great Coop and takeaways.
Overall, what a great site that we will surely be back to again and again.
Super site - very easy to find and well signposted, lovely friendly wardens, site is spotless and the dog walk was thoroughly enjoyed by our Jack Russell. As people have said, it's I nan old quarry, which virtually eliminates any traffic noise, but does involve a short hill climb from the toilet block. The pitches themselves are very level. Very convenient for all shops and take-aways, lovely long walks, Butlins and the West Somerset Railway. No play area for children, but we hadn't got any, so from our point of view, a perfect site which we plan to revisit.
Access to this site is easy with a wide sweeping entrance directly off the A39.
The wardens are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. All pitches are hard standing set out in separate areas. The site is in an old quarry and slopes considerably which would make staying for the less mobile among us a little difficult.
Most pitches are sloping so expect to do some levelling.
A Co-op is within walking distance along with numerous takeaways. Larger supermarkets are Morrisons and Tesco just a short drive away.
Mobile signal on Orange and Tesco good as was the digital TV reception.
Marvelous wooded dog walk on site too.
We stayed 26/27 october for the two night.......it rained most of the day 27th, BUT, that was the only bad part of the stay, site was a very clean, tidy and quiet site, wardens were LOVELY (to the point when I told the husband my wife wanted to sell motorhome and give it up the warden (wife), talked my wife out of it :) . If like us you dont like going far from motorhome this place is perfect, minehead is a nice 15 min walk away, a nice pub just up the road and a spar, fish and chip/takeaways just outside the camp, thank you to the wardens for a great short break and I really hope to see you again in our Bailey 760se once we have gone to Pembrey as recommended.
