Needs a revite

Whilst the site staff are first rate and do a great job, some of the facilities need refurbishment as they're distinctly 'tired'. The site is not cheap compared with some others, for example South Meadows at Belford (a non-club site), which is immaculate and there are lots of serviced pitches; in fact they seem to be the default. Melrose, on the other hand, has far too few serviced pitches and it's almost impossible to get one, even off-peak. It's time CAMC invested some money here! That's not say it's not a nice site and its main attraction is its proximity to Melrose, as most reviewers mention so there's no need for me to list all its benefits. I do believe that CAMC relies on the town, its close proximity and (beautiful) local environment to attract caravanners and, in particular, motorhomers as most things are well within walking distance. The site is next to a school and whilst the noise from the kids on the playing fields doesn't bother us, in fact it adds a certain warmth to the atmosphere, that might not be to everybody's taste. Also, a dog had been left unattended late at night and barked incessantly until its owner(s) returned, presumably from the pub. Not the fault of the site but hopefully the dog owners were 'counselled' by the staff. In short, this is a very good site but in urgent need of investment.
