First Visit

We have just spent three days here in our motorhome. Without transport the site is a bit remote and the village of Hanley Swan is about a mile walk away, although there is a nice pub serving food and a couple of shops. There are bus services but these are currently under review. The site follows the natural contours of the land with nice views out over the hills. The main facility block (nearest to Reception) is of an excellent standard as would be expected. There could be a few more service points as from some pitches it is quite a distance to collect and empty water. I thought it quite comical that the taps at the toilet block were not high enough off the ground to get an Aquaroll under!!! The motorhome service point unfortunately is still one with heavy covers to be removed, why aren't the Club attending to this more urgently? It is also not very well positioned as you have to drive round the site twice to make use of it!!!

Despite the rain!

It rained, and rained. Then it rained some more. Despite this we had a great time. A nice easy walk to the village of Hanley Swan , suitable for mobility scooters. Friendly pub, excellent village stores and butchers.  Fascinating windows in the Cof E Church and an interesting churchyard in the RC Church.Look for the memorial to a local jockey who won both the Grand National and the Gold Cup. Site staff were courteous and maintained excellent facilities. The drive up into the Malverns provides some spectacular views and there are accessible parking areas. The Morgan Factory visit was brilliant and really an unmissable treat. Motorhome parking in Worcester  was possible, try the Croft by the river. however finding a pub that allowed dogs and served food was an absolute nightmare.Worcester seemed to have a plethora of charity shops & little else. However, the Guildhall and cathedral are great.

Malvern weekend

Had a very enjoyable weekend at Malvern Hills. It's a big well spread out site with lots of room and big pitches particularly down at the far end where we stayed. Decent dog walk. It's in a lovely area. Need a car really to get about as its a mile or more to the nearest pub and 4/5 miles into Great Malvern. Well run, clean and warm facilities. However have to make a note of a few annoying points:-  The "bottom" toilet block was closed due to boiler issues. We parked at the bottom of the site & it was a 300 yd walk back to the "top" toilets which was a pain in the rain! Those in the know pitched up the top but that area became much the busier part of the site. Some of the toilets don't flush well which is not nice. The dog walk was very muddy & could do with some more wood chip being laid. Dog decided to transfer mud unto the car & caravan little devil. Caravan Club Wifi is poor at the bottom of the site - surely not a difficult task to make sure it's available at the same strength across the site. However don't let this put you off its a great area, good site, I just wish the CC could do a bit more to get it just right as its not cheap!

LOVELY FRIENDLY SITE

Lovely site , large spacious pitches. Relatively quiet but also great for kids. Clean and tidy.lovely clean facilities. Spent 3 nights here and met our relations here , had a lovely time, weather wasn't great but didn't spoil our time here. The site is well worth a visit and the people that run it are welcoming and very friendly. Will definatley visit again. Great walks and plenty of places to visit. Brill.

Beautiful Site

What a beautiful site with some amazing views of the surrounding hills. Quite a big site but the way the big pitches are set out means you are not overlooked and don't feel at all crowded. A warning if you want to make use of the Wifi don't pick a site down by the dog walk, the phone signal is not too clever down there either. Wish I could have stayed longer, but I have booked for another few days at the end of the month.

Peaceful

Recently spent three nights at the site from 30th March. Surprised to find one toilet block had been out of use for some time due to a boiler breakdown. Some hard standing pitches in need of some T L C weed killing and drainage. Surprised the barrier system was not in use. Some one left a dog in their motorhome  unattended constantly Barking. Still enjoyable  and a peaceful location. (without the dog Bak rking)

Lovely visit

We stayed Friday from 1st - 4th April. Had a lovely relaxing time the staff (paul) was most helpful in leading me some WD 30 as my caravan door lock almost ceased - but working fine now. Sit was very well maintained clean and tidy thtoughout.  We look forward to returning soon. Patrick Fitzsimmons

Pleasant Easter stay

We have just returned from a lovely 6 night stay at Malvern Hills starting on Easter Saturday and we are happy to report a very pleasant stay. Arriving at the site is slightly confusing as the Camping & Caravan Club's Blackmore Site shares an entrance with the Malvern Hills Caravan Club Site and when arriving from the Worcester direction, you see the sign for the C&CC site first and it is only when you are virtually passing that you see the CC sign at the drive entrance too.  As others have commented the bottom toilet block was out of use but the other block seemed sufficient for demand and was kept clean. The shower block was a bit cold in the evenings though and this wasn't helped by windows being left open. We would agree with other comments about the hard-standings needing some attention as our pitch (30) frequently had a large sludgy puddle when it rained (never seen rain quite as heavy as on Easter Saturday - it was like being in a car wash!). The surrounding area is lovely and we visited Hereford, Worcester, Tewkesbury and Upton not to mention walking to the top of the Worcestershire Beacon from Upper Wyche which were all well worth a visit. Also worthy of a mention is the online retailer Caravanstuff4u is situated in Hanley Swan and they have a shop which is only a few minutes away by car - useful if you need supplies or, like me, like a little browse for 'don't know how I lived without this thing I didn't know I needed' items! One thing that did puzzle us about the site was that we were issued with a fob for the security barrier but we didn't see either the entrance or exit barriers closed at all during our 6 night stay. To be fair we were back on site by around 6pm each evening but still feel that the barriers should be closed during the day as good security is one of the reasons we choose to use CC sites. All in all a great site in a beautiful location which we would happily recommend.

great base to explore

We got moved from Tewksbury site to here due to flooding, the wardens were great on arrival and very helpful. Nicely located for malvern and surrounding areas. A visit to Croome (national trust) is a must and is about 14 mile away. Definatly a site to revisit.
