Smber

We arrived on the Friday evening the VW show takes place at the Three Counties Showground. Having grown up in Worcester, and with family based locally, I had been reminded that the area would be very busy. We had a very limited selection of hard standing pitches available to choose from, and as we were staying for over two weeks, did not particularly want to move pitches. We selected a hardstanding pitch along a quiet back loop, relatively close to an amenity block, but without any views and at the furthest point from the dog walking area. We enjoyed exploring the local footpaths available directly from the site, as well as driving to explore the Malvern Hills including the Herefordshire Beacon, Midsummer and Ragged Stone hills, Eastnor Park, the Old Hills and National Trust estates at Brockhampton and Croome Park. When we were visiting the weather was a mixed bag of wet and windy, interspersed with sunny periods. We appreciated the hardstanding pitch for reducing the damp and mud.

Had a lovely stay we will be back

We visited the site over the August Bank Holiday arriving on the Sat and departing on the Tues. First impressions very welcoming and easy to access, wardens very helpful. Knew we wanted a pitch that would give us max shade for the dogs so headed down to the grass pitches near the wood. Pitches were few and far between as site virtually full, however we had a choice of 2 that we could find and set about unpacking. The atmosphere was lovely with families all around enjoying the lovely weather. The smell from all the BBQ's was delightful both morning and evening, so now my husband wants one! All our neighbours had dogs so we were in good company. The dog walk is completely shaded which was very welcome as it was so hot. Several watering points at regular intervals but only one rubbish collection point which seemed a bit odd. TV reception was better than expected as we were surrounded by trees and in the lowest part of the site. 2 toilet/shower blocks on site which could be a bit of a hike depending on your pitch, by the evening they were looking a bit untidy but with such a full site and lots of kids I suppose it was to be expected. Unfortunately it was too hot to take our dogs out for the day so we just did a driving tour around the area heading over the Malvern Hills to Ledbury enjoying the wonderful views. We will defo be back when the weather is not so hot and will be bringing our walking boots. Really enjoyed our few days.

Overnight stop and impressed.

We stopped overnight en route to Dorset, site is in an excellent location for our needs. It’s a large open site but was surprisingly quiet, many pitches empty. As always we received a warm welcome, the facilities are spotless, WiFi and phone signals good. The only downside was the only pub within walking distance, the Swan, has limited opening hours (no meals after 4pm Sunday) and seems very expensive.

Amazing site

Stayed here for 6 nights because there is so much to see and do in this beautiful area. The site is well maintained and the shower blocks are spotless. The wardens here ..Jez and Heather are extremely helpful and provide a very warm welcome. Would highly recommend this site and can’t wait to return.

Dissappointed

3rd visit to the site which we previously visited out of season.Would not recommend in July if you prefer peace and quiet and members who abide by the rules of the club! Dogs off leads with owners,5MPH non existant,Noisy groups (The Upton Blues festival goers)Pitch reserving,Inability to pitch correctly. This is a large site but I expected to see more of the Wardens on site. Dissappointed with overall experience and behaviour of my fellow members.

Comment from the Club:

We are sorry to read that you had some concerns whilst staying on site. The Site Staff have been in touch as they work very hard to ensure that people enjoy their time here and they take a lot of pride in their site.

Further to your conversation with the site staff the following morning, where you reported the noise issues you experienced, the pitches you advised were making the noise had already left the site. For future reference please note you can come to the office during the disturbance and ring the duty bell and a member of staff will help with the noise if they feel it is an issue. Unfortunately they cannot do anything after the event, especially as the people had already left the site.

The staff on site do walk around the site regularly to make sure that people are pitched correctly and that there are no other issues. Because they have the lovely Malvern Hills a lot of the  guests on site like to turn their caravan/motorhome around and the site staff actively encourage this so that they can enjoy the views. Please be assured they are still pitched correctly, just differently from normal. As they are a large site and not normally full if they do find someone pitched incorrectly and it is not breeching the fire gap then they will leave them or take a pitch out next to them if they are fully set up but they do mention for future how they should have parked. They like to run a relaxed but safe site for people to enjoy.

The site staff always mention the 5mph speed limit when checking people in on arrival. If a member of staff sees anyone on site speeding they are stopped and given a polite reminder about the speed limit and the same goes for dogs off of the lead. However, the site staff cannot be out on site at all times so if you do witness any of these things please find the site staff to report your concerns so they can investigate.

We hope this helps address your concerns.

Rather disappointed...

This is a very big site. We were disappointed by the amount of disrespect here by members - noisy groups, reserving pitches, speeding, people poorly pitching and lack of waste points. The wardens were seldom seen and seem to care little when we raised some of the above to them. That said, a delightful area, with lots to do locally. Awesome curry in Malvern at 'Flute' restaurant.

Great first time away, our dogs loved it too

This was the first time we have holidayed in our motorhome and what a great place to start, we stayed from Wednesday to Saturday. We got to choose our pitch and the staff were really helpful. The shop was well equipped too. They recommended a local pub and the food was amazing Steve had a ploughman's lunch and I had a jacket with cheese and salad both washed down with a nice cold beer! We got 10% off of food there too which was a bonus. Our pitch was lovely and spacious, there were grass pitches and hardstanding too, none of them were short on space. We were close to the dog walk which our dogs Buddy and Holly loved. It was a multitude of paths all interwoven and all covered by trees so it was lovely and cool for the dogs, they thought they were walking for miles but we were close to the site at all times. There were dog bins at either end. The shower blocks were clean and you could control the temperature and flow (not push buttons). You could see the Malvern Hills from the site. We will definitely be returning.

Lovely location

We stayed for 3 nights to break the journey home from Cornwall. What a lovely location and site. Wardens very pleasant and helpful and the usual excellent site services and cleanliness. As we only had two full days we walked on the Malvern Hills and visited the National Trust property at Croome. Good for local shopping with handy supermarkets nearby. Loved the layout with trees and shrubs, not the usual straight line of caravans on hardstanding which more resemble a car park.
