We have just returned from a 4-night stay at Ludlow Touring Park. This is a quiet, peaceful site in a beautiful part of the country. We particularly liked the fact that there was an "adult only" section and would like to see more CC sites follow suit. Pitches are large and site is well-landscaped. Washrooms are clean and very warm (perhaps a bit too warm in summer!) We also appreciated the loyalty card scheme. All in all, a very enjoyable stay and we shall return!
To the warm and friendly greeting from staff when we arrived to the moment we, reluctantly, drove away this site exceeded all our expectations. The site and its absolutely first class facilities are kept in pristine condition. The staff are helpful friendly and welcoming.
The location is perfect for exploring all that this beautiful part of the country has to offer. Plenty of interesting villages/towns/food shops/pubs and restaurants and great for walking and cycling
This is a fantastically landscaped site which each year as the planting grows improoves. It is divided into a adults only and family sections and the caravans are in small landscaped areas to make you feel you are on a small site. Overall a brilliant job by Morris leasure.
We stayed here a few days this month and despite very strong winds and rain we survived! The site is very young with very small trees and shrubs so little protection from the elements until these grow, give it a few years it will be lovely. Pitches all a good size and neat and tidy. Large grass areas for dogs and children to play, albeit we were on the adult only area. Staff friendly and helpful. Good TV and internet connection, the latter was expensive £5 for 24 hours! Only real negative was the hot water from the taps was dangerously hot, there were signs saying danger it was still too hot to be safe should a child turn it on. Walk into pretty Ludlow was 30mins, the road was busy but always a pavement to walk on. Several buses to and from Ludlow daily 15 min from site - but note last bus back to site was 5.30pm. Site close to many interesting houses and gardens. We will return!
After reading all the negative reviews we decided to book 8 nights @ Ludlow Tourist Park , it was AMAZING.
The site is immaculate , the staff are fantastic and the location is wonderful.
We had a serviced pitch in the Adult Only section , the caravan backed onto the river , couldn't of asked for a better pitch. It is so relaxing & peaceful.
Will definitely return again soon.
My wife and I visited the site in mid April. Sadly our overwhelming memory will be the lack of a friendly welcome. We witnessed several confrontations between Wardens and visitors which were really unacceptable.
There are no easy walks from the site and to try and walk to Ludlow or a local forest (to walk the dogs) involves a walk along a very narrow pavement alongside a very fast road.
The noise from the nearby roads is very intrusive and the site (being very new) is very open and soulless. There are major works going on to the local railway line.
Having said all this Ludlow was a lovely town. We also visited Church Stretton and the Long Mynd which the dogs thoroughly enjoyed.
We have just returned from a 6 night stay on this site and were very disappointed. On arrival the winter wardens were very nice and welcoming but apparently knew very little about the area. We are motorhomers and picked this site because of the public transport links into Ludlow. Beware~ as there is no longer public transport into Ludlow, although the site facilities still show public transport
within 1 mile. We had to go into Ludlow by Taxi, that is if you could get one. Once in Ludlow the town was very interesting. We only saw one bus in the town which was the town circular. Couldn't find a bus station or any reference to pubic transport. I must say we had great difficulties trying to get a taxi back to the site
The wardens did not know why you couldn't get down to the river or why it was gated off as of special scientific interest. To say that Ludlow was easily reached by foot is a little bit of an exaggeration.
We have just completed a 10 night stay benefiting from the March two for one offer. Large serviced pitch, clean warm toilet block and enclosed dog walk. Ludlow is a very pretty town and there is loads to see in the area. Only downside I can think of there is not too much for younger children to do on site apart from a play area.
We stayed at this caravan site on a tour crossing the UK for one night only, as we wished to visit Ludlow
The site itself is immaculate, the amenities block was impeccably kept and warm. We found all the staff very helpful and polite. The site itself was in a lovely location, if slightly off the beaten track. the site is quite large, and the staff did tell us was that it does get busy when there are local festivals on. We did think that the site would benefit from an extra toilet block in the centre of the site ( it was quite a walk in the middle of the night!)
Another thing was the (lack of) a regular bus service, or the availability of a public footpath into the town would give this site five stars throughout.
