Excellent site

Very pleased with our first trip of the year. The site was excellent and the staff very friendly. The site is easily accessed off the A49.  We really enjoyed visiting the National Trust properties in the area and also Powis Castle.  The Ludlow Food Centre was very useful with local produce available.  We will certainly return to the area and this site.

More plusses than minuses

Three lovely nights here, bargain with the 3 for 2 offer out of season.   Toilets/showers immaculate.   Sadly the road into Ludlow was closed, the first night we tried (not knowing about the closure), we pulled up at the closure sign to decide what we do from there.   A car pulled up alongside us and asked if we were going into the town and if yes follow him.   Well we were up and down lanes but got there and more importantly managed to remember our way home.   The next day we decided to try the 30/40 minute walk and a lovely farmer stopped and offered us a lift.   What fantastic people the people of Ludlow are.   The taxi back was £8.20 though as it was raining.   To sum things up if you are in a motorhome it would be difficult to get into Ludlow at the moment.  A car is OK but difficult.   Back to the site it was very quiet, a little road noise but nothing to get worked up about.   Facilities spotless.   All boils down to what you want from your holiday.

Excellent Site, good value for money

Our first stay at a Morris Leisure site and we were impressed.  Their Ludlow site was opened in 2012 and still looks new.  The investment made in the site speaks for itself and the facilities are superb, with plenty of space and an attractive, open layout to the pitches.  Extensive planting of hedging has been undertaken and once this matures the site will be even more pleasant.  With a '3 nights for 2' offer during the winter season the site provided unbeatable value for money.  Well located for exploring Ludlow (30mins level walk on pavements), the Shropshire hills and local NT properties.  We would return without hesitation, especially in winter with its hard-standings and heated flooring in the amenities block.

Excellent Site

Stayed at this site over the New Year Period on a hard standing pitch. The weather did not help us to see this site at it's best I feel. The facilities at the site were excellent with a clean and spacious shower block and wash up room. The site has a well stocked shop. The site is very easy to find and has excellent access from the road. Ludlow is very easy to get to - approx. a 15 minute walk away. I will definitely be returning to this site in the summer. The only thing I can criticise about the site is that a bin is needed in the wash-up room. To summarise, this site is what you expect from a Morris Leisure site.

Weekend Stay at Ludlow

Good location, only being around 20-25 minute walk into Ludlow town. Clean and quiet site with pitches being of good size and well spaced

Great Site in Good Location

Just returned from a 6 night stay here. Lovely site very well planned and excellent facilities. Staff were all very helpful as well. Pitches are of a good size and well spaced out. Only complaint is that a few tents were allowed on also and mixed between the caravans, these campers were not quiet at all and blowing an airbed up at 2.30am with an electric pump was not appreciated. Thankfully they left the next day. Would recommend that the tenting pitches are kept separate from the caravans. Other than this niggle highly recommend this site will be returning.

A beautiful site in a beautiful area

We phoned the site to ask if they had a space for that same day, expecting that the answer would be "no". We were delighted to find they could fit us in and even more so when they said we could arrive as soon as we wanted to. The lady I spoke to on the phone was very friendly and helpful, so we felt we were already off to a good start. This impression continued when we arrived and remained the same until the moment we left, so absolutely no complaints as far as staff are concerned. The grounds are stunningly well-kept, in fact I have a feeling someone goes round checking the edges with a tape measure, that's how neat and tidy the site is. Despite this, visitors still feel relaxed, due to pleasant lack of "don't do" signs. The facilities are fantastic, with two large washing machines and two tumble driers, each at the low cost of £3 a load; there's also an iron. The showers are great - modern, clean, spacious, plenty of hot water. The motorhome service point is easy to access too, which is not always the case on caravan sites. We only stayed one night and didn't venture from the site but I did notice a bus stop just outside, so it seems as though the public transport links are available too. We will definitely be back!

Very nice site.

Stayed for one night on our way to Devon, the site is very large good sized pitches but we were a long way from the toilet block on our adult only pitch. The shower block is immaculate and as said before very warm. We biked in to Ludlow, which is hairy as the path is overgrown and the traffic is fast and close. Ludlow castle is worth £5 to visit although it could do with a few more information boards. Ludlow is busy and narrow streets avoid with a car. The site seemed quiet, it did have plenty of notices about what to do and what not to do on it. All in all a nice spot for visiting Ludlow.

Excellent Site

This site is excellent as well it should be, being just around 2 years old. It is a large, long open parkland type site with most pitches being hardstanding and a few grass ones. All pitches are of a very generous size and will easily take the largest of outfits. The toilets are immaculate with loads of hot water and good sized shower cabinets. There is a small selection of goods in the shop in case you've forgotten something. Just outside the Reception block is the kids play area and this looked very well kitted out. If you are a dog owner, you will find one of the best dog walks on any site. At the top of the site, it is a small field where Fido can run as much as he likes with loads of room. The town of Ludlow is a 30 minute walk away, but the road is very busy and not for everyone. Streets are narrow and parking is a nightmare so best to use the Park and Ride which is only 2 miles away by car and easy to find. The town has a great selection of quaint shops and a castle to explore. The only "failing" of this site is that, like its sister site at Stanmore Hall, you don't get to choose your pitch, it is allocated to you and if you are unlucky to get one at the bottom of the park, it's a looooong way from the toilet block. I really feel that a site this size needs a loo at the other end of the park. But will we be back? Yes, as there is lots to explore around this area.
