Perfect

Very Welcoming staff clean facilities could not fault anything. The location was very good for the Park. The staff at Longleat are very pleasant and helpful and really good with the children. We would certainly stay there again, and will recommend the site to friends and family.

Autumn break

We just spent a week here as it is close to friends and family. It is conveniently located close to towns and cities (i.e. Frome, Bath etc) for those wet days, if your unlucky enough to get them, but also some beautiful countryside including the NT Stourhead estate and of course the Longleat estate. Our first pitch selection was not the best as we had an oak tree dropping acorns on the roof. A bit like Chinese water torture. That's now on our selection criteria for Autumn trips. The site was well maintained and very clean, up to the best of CC site standards. A slight drawback is the distance back to the main road from the site (about 2 miles) and the circular routes you have to take to navigate around the Longleat estate, but that is a minor issue really. We visited the 'Horse and Groom' pub on our first evening. On the Thursday night it was very quiet and the bar staff a bit inexperienced (Q. What have you got on draft? A. That would be Ale would it? You'd better go and have a look, lol). There was also no evidence of food hygiene rating. We did think the menu was far too ambitious for a small pub like this. It's also not the easiest place to get to by road and it's a good 30-40 minute brisk walk to get there over the Longleat roads. However we had a good large and reasonably priced meal and the pub has a lot of character with lovely flowers outside. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay at this site and managed to visit my old mum and friends in Bath. May well visit again in the future.

lovin' longleat

Just had 3 nights , could not fault the site or the wardens or the facilities ; great cycling country Froome is lovely, impressed with the house and gardens and general facilities, although you will see more of the animals in warmer weather . I cannot believe people still drive through the monkey park when the bus is a great way to see things. The countryside colours have been stunning too. Thankyou again for help when we locked our selves out of our camper.xx

great site

Had a wonderful time. A good clean well kept site and very helpful staff. Ideal for visiting longleat and would recommend a two day pass for longleaf via the caravan club offer. A number of national trust sites nearby. Would advise a visit to the royal oak for great meal at good value and well trained staff. You hear the sea lions and lions which is atmospheric but not intrusive. Intend to visit again next year.

ANother great weekend

So just back from a great weekend at the Longleat site. This is our 2nd visit this year, we also came in the summer. The site was very quiet, I would say just under half full but was still up to the usual expected high standard. Lots of pitches to choose from and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Geat hearing the sea lions and hearing the Lions roar. The area was very clean and the showers / toilets were spotless. We are fairly local to this area but would recommend for anyone wanting to set a base and travel around as there is lots to do as well as the Safari Park.....

Wonderful, but...

Absolutely faultless due to facilities, location, and great staff. Would certainly return to Longleat again - something to do for everyone. Only down side is that (as in all CC sites I've used) water taps are few in number - in a MH you have to make endless trips with watering can or disconnect everything and drive to tap - ludicrous!

Great weekend

Just had a great weekend away here with our two young boys and dog. We spent the day at Longleat Safari Park which is next door to the site and had a brilliant day. The site is well kept with friendly staff and the play park is perfect for the kids. The best bit for my boys was hearing the sea lions barking as we arrived! Thank you

FACILITIES BLOCKS - 3rd September 2015

Having visited this site on various occasions in the past, and been very happy with our experience, this time, we were very disappointed to find that although the site was more than half full, and it was not low season - only one facility block was open - and we were asked to pitch at one end of the park making it feel crowded and uncomfortable needless to say we only stayed one night!

Excellent for visiting Longleat eastate and Safari park

The site is well kept and is cleane and tidy. Pitches are spacious with room for awning van and car on the white peg pitches. Excellent for visiting the Longleat eastate and the Safari park, but other atractiions such as Bath, Bristol and Westernsupermare is a long drive away. Although there is a dog walk off site, dogs are not aloud on any part of the Longleat estate at all.  We found that walking across occupied pitches is a problem, and one guy actually complained to us for parking our car on our pitch as per club rules, because it made him walk on uneven grass, whereas it would have been easier for him to walk to the toilet block on the Tarmac road as he was disabled.  There is an ASDA superstore just down the road in Frome where you can get all your shopping needs, and it also has a filling station. This is unmanned, and pay at the pump, but the fuel is the cheapest for miles around.

Excellent location for Safari Park

Good site which is well maintained and very clean facilities despite the torrential rain and mud.

Site not full during the week but fairly busy but one of the shower sites was closed during the week and only opened at the weekend.

I think that many of the residents must have been using their on board a faciilities as there were never queues for the six showers that were open.

Washing up area was spotless but one of the work surfaces was broken.

Wardens were welcoming and in evidence around the site.

Grass and bin areas well maintained and spotless.

Suggestion regarding the CC offers for Longleat Park:- We took advantage of the five day consecutive pass pffered to CC members, which was good value but would have been more useful if the 5 days were not consecutive. Any chance of raising this? Same with 2 day pass.
