First Visit to Longleat
One week stay at Longleat
As we are coming to the end of our one week stay at Longleat I thought I would leave a review. Had a lovely stay here but you can no longer go into the Longleat Park without a valid ticket. To be honest once you have been into the park you would not want to pop back in for a coffee. It would have been to everyone's advantage for the members staying at Longleat caravan park to have a valid pass just to enter the park for a coffee or meal, but this is not to be. Places to visit in the area National Trust properties Stourhead and Lacock Village. A visit to Bath is a must and the Park and Ride is about 17 miles away. Shame about the site not being so popular now as Longleat have withdrawn access for caravan members without a valid ticket but we still enjoyed our holiday and it was great not having too many neighbours. I think the site fees could be adjusted to attract more members to stay here.
A great short break
A lovely site next to Longleat Safari Park. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and friendly. The facilities were lovely and clean though some of the ceiling tiles in our wash block were stained. Not a big deal really. It was great to hear the animals next door especially the sea lions. Perfectly located for exploring the surrounding area and in a quiet out of the way location. Perfect. I just want to make one point. We went to the reccomended Horse an Groom pub and were very disappointed. The staff unfriendly to the point of rudeness ignoring our arrival completely. I thought we had strayed into Rosyston Vasey. The pub on the main road was a much better bet. Not a site issue of course. Overall a fantastic site one of the best we have stayed at
