We only stayed one night as a stopover to coming home but the site is very well positioned for visiting the safari park, good dog walks and pretty countryside, the facilities are spotless with friendly wardens. Would go again. Ann
Lovely relaxing week
We arrived at the sight after a horrendous journey down. 8.5 hours in the car had taken its toll. We retired early and the site was peaceful and quiet. The next morning we awoke refreshed and again it was lovely and peaceful. Made a cup of tea but the van had been in storage and the melamime cups made it taste awful. Went to see if they sold any at the office - they didnt but could not have been more helpful lending us 3 cups to use for as long as we wanted. Stayed on site that day and again it was lovely and peaceful.
The rest of thecweek continued much the same and we had a wonderful week.
Must compliment the wardens as they were extremely helpful and friendly which helped to make a great holiday. Some mornings there was a little tractor noise from the safari park but this neither disturbed us or bothered us.
Thanks for a great break.
Very quiet
Good sight for Longleat. Used Tesco clubcard tokens as it was cheaper than the CC offer to get into Longleat. I was expecting more animals on the safari, the herds of 5/6 animals per species were certainly well spaced out. Longleat house was excellent. Site was usual excellent CC standards. Was disappointed that people felt the need to walk through occupied pitches (including mine) rather than walk around them. Very quiet during the week, weekends filled up. Excellent play facilities for children.
noisy weekend
forgot to add in last review, arrived back on site on the sunday to find large dent in the side of our caravan, looked like a stone had been thrown at it?
noisy weekend
stayed at site from friday to tuesday, very clean site, but if you don;t want to be woken every morning around 6am by large tractors going in/out of longleat for around two hours, would not recommend staying here, very expensive site,4 nights £124,all walks are blocked off ,so no where to walk, longleat safari park not worth the money as lions/tigers enclosure;s building site;s,saw no lions or tigers, park gone downhill, would not be visiting again.
Excellent site
We stayed at this site for a week with our 3 children who loved the site. Exceptionally clean and well run, peaceful but plenty for the kids to do. Right next to Longleat Safari park so no need for a car. Central for most areas and Bath is worth a visit. Will certainly return to this site.

Returning visitor
Stayed at Longleat for the 4th time thought it would be nice stopover for a few days on our way down to Minehead.
Was really disappointed that we were unable to walk through Longleat park as we have done on previous visits without paying full admission price!!!
I did email Longleat asking why they thought that this was nesassary? As they must be losing income from CC members who want to sit & enjoy the house or get a takeaway.
They have responded & explained due to " Few" C C members abusing the free entrance to the grounds & using all the rides & visiting the Zoo they have now removed this Concession.
The site is beautiful lovely spacious pitches excellent facilities & the staff were extremely helpful.
Wifi is poor & the areas it is good are where you are limited to the sun shining all day.
Will still be back even if we aren't able to stroll through the grounds.

Lovely altogether
We were somewhat fearful of the last few miles, having read the reviews and instructions on how to get there. But it is easy, even for a big old grumpy campervan driven by a much older and equally grumpy bloke. All you need to remember is to use the road by the White Hart not the Red Lion. It's a bit twist, with the odd narrow bit but nothing bad. Talking of the Red Lion, the food there is pretty good and it's a Wadsworth's pub - the beer is excellent.
We were greeted warmly on arrival, the shop is one of the better stocked CC places. They had no dog food, which pleased our little feller as he had to suffer corned beef and ravioli for a few days. Not much hardship there. They also sell TV coax, which is just as well as the reception is somewhere between non-existent and dreadful. This was a required purchase as I felt the need to watch England v Iceland but lets not go there. The site is spacious, big and quiet. It's easy to lose yourself for the first day or two. The first time I wandered over to the shower block (which was impeccably clean by the way) it took about a minute. Returning to the van took about five minutes, which is odd because I have a superb sense of direction. Strange to say, it's very convenient to Longleat Safari Park, there are also discounts on the tickets. I have no idea what Longleat is like as we didn't visit (don't ask, I was almost tempted as there is a rather good narrow gauge railway that runs along the back of the site. Don't worry, it's not intrusive. There are some great walks to be had - get an OS map from th shop, it's worth the expense. Great site, nice people and wonderfully clean and well kept. If you want to use the dodgy CC WIFI, choose your pitch carefully and the drongo's who installed it seem a tad clueless on RF transmitter location. The office has a very helpful map on WIFI reception. Yes, we'd visit again. Nice.
Disappointed in end of weekend
We stayed at this site for the weekend 1 July. It was half empty but lovely spacious pitches. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist. The site was beautifully kept with excellent facilities. Imagine my disappointment when a different lady was on reception on Sunday. I asked if we needed to hurry off the pitch (bearing in mind the site was half empty over the weekend). She looked horrified that I'd even asked and said yes because the road was hard to get in & out of at crossover time. I explained I wanted to go in my friends car to Bath (we drive a motorhome and find it difficult to get adequate parking) and we'd like to leave our van either on the pitch or in the late arrivals area so we could leave early evening. After heated words, the outcome was basically I could pay £23.50 for the extra night or leave. How unhelpful & with the attitude that I was stupid to even ask. For this reason I wouldn't go back again. I could understand if the site was overflowing but really! I choose to be a member of the Caravan Club but attitudes on sites like these would make me re-think my choice!
Brilliant site
A lovely site in a great location to visit Longleat safari park. We were greeted with a very warm welcome. The pitches are spacious and the site and facilities are extremely clean and tidy. It is a bonus to get discount on Longleat tickets and a friendly pub with good food is a 30 minute walk away.
We loved it.
