Longleat club site

Longleat is a lovely site, pitches well laid out to afford as much privacy as possible. It must be good in the summer when the trees are in leaf. Toilets were immaculate as always. Staff seemed very efficient and welcoming. It was winter and it was cold, what I didn’t understand was why, as the open pitches were hard Gravel why there was a lot of soil on the roads and deepish tyre tracks on the grass. Hard standings and a metalled Road it must be possible to hitch up and manoeuvre a vehicle without hitting or driving over very wet grass areas. It made for dirty feet and dirty dogs, in my view unnecessarily because of “the couldn’t care less brigade” or just “numpties”. This is not a criticism of the club or the site management but more of the users. Motorhome dumping was adequate and dedicated but removing manhole covers is a bit archaic. A cattle grid type grating as “a drive over dump” would be good. Overall a very enjoyable visit, good attractions adjacent, reasonable cost, slightly spoiled by thoughtless users.

Excellent

We come every year to the Festival of lights and Santa Train. We love it, easy access to Longleat park. The caravan park is immaculate, staff were helpful. We did feel the Fish and Chip van could stay open just a little later but we want to a local pub where they plated up fish and chips and allowed us to take it back to the site! For a very novice tower, I found this fairly easy access. Love this site!

Excellent family site and super easy access to Longleat Safari Park

We stay here for the Festival of Light at Longleat and it was excellent, usual lovely Caravan Club facilities and the bonus of being able hear the Sealions roaring in the evening! Easy access to Longleat itself as the Safari Park access is just up the road from the site. Only note of caution is the turn of the A362 which is quite narrow!

More than happy to keep coming back!

Second visit this year and can't see any reason not to keep coming back. Great site, great location, great area for walks and obviously great for visiting Longleat... Next time we would pick a pitch to the left hand side as you enter the site only to be further away from the site play area and the longleat adventure playground. Thats not to say that the noise was too much but just our preference to move a bit further away from it. Having said that, waking up to the sound of the sea lions was a novel and enjoyable way to be woken up!

Couple of nights at Longleat

We only stayed at Longleat for a couple of nights and it was only as a stop on the way to somewhere else. It is a lovely site with friendly wardens and superb shower blocks but we have been put off going again because of the access road which was wet and muddy and we never failed to meet traffic as we went in and out, sometimes going quite quickly. We will go again if visiting Longleat and not going in and out but as a stopover we will not bother.

Warmest and cleanest loos on the network

Lovely Wardens, and a good site, we were here for three nights 6 7 8th of November. Nice and quiet, lots of space and the best loos we have had in the five years we've been members. Bath is a good day out as is Stourhead house and gardens, but a bit pricey. Access is fun but just follow caravan signs, from White Hart pub and take your time, not a problem. We will return in the spring, on a midweek deal.

Great Site for all.

We arrived here at the end of the half-term week and despite the site being very nearly full the helpful warden was able to suggest a quieter pitch for us away from the play area as we didn't have children. We took advantage of the discounted rates for Longleat and really enjoyed our visits, especially the excellent fireworks. The entrance to Longleat was so close it was easy to come and go between the site and the park. I was a bit disappointed the first day or so not to hear the lions roar from the site but they more than made up for it on our last night - I was quite glad there was a lake between us and them! We took advantage of the bus to take us round the safari park and were pleased we had done so when we saw the monkeys pulling bits off the cars. We didn't find the approach road to the site a problem. It was narrow but as long as you took it slowly it was fine.

Halloween weekend

We only live about 10 miles away but decided to bring 3 grandchildren over to Longleat for Halloween weekend. Made a saving buying out day tickets for Longleat through the Club website. Arrived at 11 and parked the van in the coach park and spent a couple of hours in the park before pitching up on site, Wardens are very friendly. Site was beautiful and the toilets and showers were immaculate and lovely and warm. Lots of vans were decorated for Halloween and the kids enjoyed dressing up and going Trick or Treating after watching the firework display. Really lovely site and we are considering buying a season ticket to Longleat and doing this regularly throughout the year as the site is so nice

A Great Family Site

What can I say, this was our first visit to Longleat and I don't think it will be our last, despite it being a 5 hour drive away! The proximity to Longleat made for a very relaxing stay with a gentle stroll from Caravan to Safari it was a perfect way to end our October half term break. I can't recommend this site highly enough, really enjoyable and can't wait to visit again.
