Just an opinion

We have stayed at this site many times in our 10 years of caravanning and have always given an excellent review. We arrived 2 days ago and found a once pristine site looking far from its former glory. Some grass areas have been left to grow ( for some time ) and bushes not trimmed it makes the site look unkempt. The staff keep the toilets clean and are friendly. We used to find the little shop handy but this has long gone. Please bring it back to the high standards set by previous staffing it’s a lovely area to visit.

Great little campsite

Campsite is great and all facilities clean and well maintained. Staff were brilliant, really helpful with a few problems I had with my motorhome and offered great advice about going out and about. Were really nice open and friendly people to chat to. The road noise never bothered me during the day but my stay was in February and I was inside alot of out and about. At night I could hear it at times and others not, maybe it depends on the wind direction and how well you sleep. Overall I really liked it and would definitely return, is a nice base for Littlehampton and visiting Arundel.

Lovely Site - shame about the noisy road

This was our first visit here. Ideally located between Arundel and the coast at Littlehampton the site was excellent. Arrival and check in was very smooth with very helpful staff, we duly found our pitch and returned to the office to let them know where we were. The toilet/shower block was very clean and nicely warm bearing in mind it was only 4c outside. The only negative I have about the site is something outside of the Club's remit, the adjacent road, the A284, was very busy hence a lot of traffic noise. Having said that we would still return to the site.

Great site

A very pleasant welcome, the gentleman in the office was most helpful. He went through the barrier tags to tell me which pitches were available. A very well maintained site all of the roads and pitches are immaculate, the facilities reflected the hard work of the site staff. It is well placed for exploring the south coast and inland areas.

Disappointing experience

Due to no expected traffic hold ups, we arrived outside the site at 12.50, we did not enter the site but drove up the road and found a parking space with no parking restrictions and did not cause any obstruction. We entered the site at 13.01 to find that another caravan had arrived before us. When we went to book in we were told in no uncertain terms, that the site had already received a phone call about us. When I asked the lady site manager what the problem was, she told us that we should not park where we did and somebody had complained. She then went on to say that as the council would not get involved in the parking dispute - then she had to police it. When I asked her how she can police it when there are no parking restrictions in the road, she then accused me of arguing with her. I explained that I was not arguing but merely asking a question. She then accused me of inconsiderate parking. She then became rather emotional and offered to cancel our booking and we could go, in a very abrupt way. Later I found that there are instructions printed in the information room advising members that - if they happen to arrive early, not to enter the site but to park in a safe space nearby... which is what I did. In 38 years with the club, I have never had a problem like this before and it really soured the whole holiday.

Little Gem

Lovely October stay, warm greeting from the wardens and easy check in. Perfectly level service pitch, good TV and WiFi signal. Decent facilities block. Some background noise from the trains and rush hour traffic but nothing of any concern. Littlehampton is a charming old fashioned seaside town which is probably a lot busier during the school holidays. Lots to do in the area including Arundel, Worthing, Brighton, Bognor Regis or further afield we travelled to Southsea and took the Hovercraft to Ryde on the Isle of Wight. Reasonable prices during October unlike a lot of club sites.

A disappointing site

This was our first visit to the site and as we were a few minutes early and the 'No Arrivals before 1.00pm' sign was in the site entrance we parked on the road outside the site for about five minutes (there are no parking restrictions and we were not causing any obstruction). When the site manager removed the board he glared at us and then I had an 'ear bending' about parking on the road outside the site - it appears we should have driven down the road and parked there! The site is quite scruffy and needs some maintenance. There is a wooden fence adjacent to the park homes which would benefit from a coat of paint as well as work required around the toilet blocks. The pitches were okay, the noise from the adjacent road wasn't too disruptive but overall it wasn't a pleasant experience and we would not return.

Great Site / Wardens - Pity about SOME members

Stayed on this site for a week over August Bank Holiday, knowing we were in school holidays. Site very clean and tidy, with helpful and dedicated Wardens. HOWEVER, there are a couple of major issues that MUST be addressed before someone is badly hurt..... the limit is 5 mph not 25mph - if members can't grasp the ' stay in first gear' rule, then speed bumps should be considered. The site is edged with low hedges, very nice until a child appears the wrong way at a junction on a very low electric go-cart not previously seen due to the hedge. These things have a speed approaching 25mph and could easily have a pedestrian off their feet. These carts very driven by children of very young age who have no idea of danger. Bike / scooter / cart use after dark, with no lights used was also prevalent. Some parents seem to think that the rules do not apply to either them or their children - A 5 year old was heard giving abuse to a Warden after they were stopped for using scooters around the toilet block ! We are not anti children, but the Club rules are there for a reason - everyone's enjoyment and safety. IF YOU DONT LIKE THE RULES, DON'T JOIN THE CLUB.

Great for seeing the area!

Stayed for a few days, over the August Bank Holiday weekend, before going to the Isle of Wight. Excellent location for seeing the area, plenty of places to visit. Arundel being well worth a visit, with the castle etc, Littlehampton has nice sea front and beaches, with one end being dog friendly. Didn't test out any of the local food and drink places, but plenty of choice. The facilities could do with a bit of an update, but nothing really wrong with them and kept nice and clean. A good site for families, though not having kids, flown the nest, found it a bit much at times! There is a little bit of road noise, but again not really an issue. Found the staff to be excellent, very helpful and friendly and prepared to go that little bit further. Overall would recommend and use again if in the area, but probably not over the August Bank Holiday weekend again!
