Wonderful Site

We have stayed on this site a couple of times and we love it. Its so peaceful with great walks, lots of wildlife, a brilliant farm shop close by and a pub not far away that serves lovely food and good beer. The wardens are great and really helpful. The shower/toilet block is clean and warm. We will definitely be back!

cracker of a site

This is a wee cracker of a site, the location is in a wood with little separate areas for pitching. Like your own little cul-de- sac the wardens were top notch and helped us continue our break with extentions to the booking. location has excellent walks, bike runs are up wee lanes, there is a bonny farm shop with all sorts of goodies, meringue and fresh strawberries plus cream for our tea, nectar. the place was immaculate . I have been a few times and would opt for this site every time for a wee break if it was a bit closer to my town. well done to all for giving us a cracking break.

Arrival time

The new arrival time for this site is now 1pm - which is fine if everyone stuck to this new rule. But it seems if you arrive early you will still get on. When we were there we saw a caravan get on at 11.40am - twenty minutes before the old time. If those that obey the new rule stay away until 1pm they will have missed all the good pitches. I think it should have been off at 11.30 and on at 12.30. That said its our favourite site.

Message from The Club:

The new arrivals time is from 1pm and departures by 12pm to enable safe passage along our restricted access road.  Before new arrivals are allowed on site from 1pm, existing visitors may wish to change pitch to one which suites their needs better, especially when we are full and have had limited options the afternoon before.  It is also normal for visitors who were unable to arrive on site prior to 8pm the previous evening to use the Late Nights Arrival area and on checking in the following morning to then move onto pitches as they become vacant.  Outfits who have arrived prior to the 1pm arrivals time are asked to wait in the arrivals area.  We hope this clears up any misunderstanding.  Thank you.

Excellent site

Second short stay at this site and both very enjoyable. Peacefull woodland setting. Super walk into Kendal which is fairly flat and easy - can always get a taxi back.

A great forest retreat

We stayed here for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The site is set in a wooded area with pitches amongst the trees. Very quiet and picturesque. The staff were helpful and the toilet blocks were very clean. There was the added bonus of the fish and chip van every Friday night. The local area was excellent being close to Windermere, Ambleside and Grange over Sands. All well worth a visit. We would go back to this site again.

Great site, great staff

Great site, only the weather let it down but as they say if it wasn't for the rain there would be no lakes. Staff were superb and toilet block immaculate.
