Great site in a wonderful county

A wonderful site in all weathers , plenty of places to visit and nearby beaches if the sun shines. Peaceful out of holiday time and a buzz of happy activity in the school holidays.

One night stop-over

Decision to stay in the Wareham area was very last minute. Phoned the site around 6pm and was pleasantly surprised that the site manageress could slot us in. Lovely site fairly close to an excellent pub (the Silent Woman) so ticks in all boxes. Will definitely recommend and return soon

Great site for exploring Dorset

We have stayed at this site on a number of occasions and have always enjoyed it, although there can be some road noise depending on where one is pitched. Because of the site's popularity it can get quite busy but generally the two shower blocks provide adequate facilities. The site is very well situated to explore a lot of Dorset, especially the spectacular World Heritage coast. The nearby town of Wareham is pleasant and adequate for all one's needs. Nearby there are also various attractions such as Corfe Castle, Kingston Lacey NT house and parkland, Swanage to Corfe steam railway and much more. One isolated problem last time we stayed were a number of caravaners who arrived for the Bank Holiday at soon after 10.00 and then touring the site putting pressure on leavers who were packing up. The wardens would clearly have difficulty enforcing the 12.00 entry rule as it would have resulted in a queue on the busy entry road.

A great site for touring

We just spent 10 nights on this site and really enjoyed it, it is a great site for touring Dorset, our first time in this area and we loved it. Highlights were Lulworth & Durdle Door, Tyneham village, Studland bay beaches, Poole& harbour, Swanage, Corfe Castle just so much to do and see we must go back to do some more. We though it was a good CC site, spotless facilities and helpful friendly staff, Ok it was busy but never once waited for the showers, did have a wait for wash up a time or two but it's always a good time for a chat whilst waiting. We love Wareham, a lovely little town with good pubs, a Sainsburys, Co-op and a cute little market on the quay on a Saturday......

Why

We have just spent 14 nights on this lovely site with two other friends with their caravans, what we all agreed on was who in the office at the clubs headquarters ever thought that type 1 granite stone normally used for hardcore on building sites was suitable for hard standing pitches has obviously never stayed on one, if we had not had a ground sheet it would have ruined our holiday as it is we will not be returning any time soon, so be warned.

Hunters moon

Just had a few days at this site but it wasn't for us.To larger site not very relaxing Some really nice places to visit and location of the site was perfect . If visiting Poole park in asda car park as you go into Poole and you can walk straight into the high street from there. Will revisit the area but will find a less busy site

Enjoyed our stay

This was the second Caravan Club site we have stayed on and we wondered if it would be as nice as the first one (Putts Corner). Well I'm happy to say that it was. We arrived on a Friday afternoon and had a good choice of pitches - not realising how many children would turn up only 2 days later, we pitched next to the play area which got noisier as the weekend went on. That was a mistake but not the site's fault. The site was very well maintained, the grass being cut after every departure, the pitch we were on (101) was reasonably level and got the best of the sunshine throughout the day. The electricity on 101 was a bit temperamental and did flip a couple of times but the warden came over and sorted this very quickly. The toilet block was very clean and the water was really nice and hot with good pressure - and best of all - no need to keep pushing the button to keep the water coming. Bliss!
