Christmas break

Overall a very nice and clean site with access to local amenities. Local pub an easily walkable distance from site although there are no paths except for grass verges. Pub staff were friendly and welcoming but the food was average. Plenty of walks (with sightings of deer) although the Wareham trail was a little bit boggy in some places but it was only due to the amount of rain we've had recently. We were booked on a serviced pitch so paid top prices therefore very disappointed the lower toilet block wasn't open throughout our 9 day stay. The wardens were asked on numerous occasions but refused to open them. Not much fun having to walk to the top toilet block in strong winds and heavy rain especially when pitched next to the closed toilet block in high season.

Dissapointing

Unfriendly welcome on arrival. Nothing explained about facilities . Expensive wifi that didn't work . No basic goods in shop, told out of season?? Even though Christmas new year holidays site full up and no basic essentials ? As a motorhome with awning set up and no public transport not ideal. Awful gypsy site next door, trying to walk dogs in forest which was like a bog with gypsies walking around with guns. Very intimidating ! Rubbish everywhere at back of scrap metal site - main road too dangerous to walk along. Silent woman pub very expensive, children not allowed either . Positive note toilets and showers excellent . Won't return.

Christmas break

A lovely quiet stay for three nights from Boxing Day onwards. The local pub does excellent food as well as real ale and is just 0.5 miles from the site, an easy walk but take a torch. The site was clean, quiet and well located for exploring the south coast beaches or beautiful forest walks.

Christmas Timee

Excellent site and well looked after. Very quiet over the Xmas period. Slightly disappointed that the lower toilet block was closed over the period especially when one considers the high price for that time of year

A bit isolated

We stayed here between Xmas and new year having read the the write up.  Being honest we were disappointed with the location.  Whilst it is within driving distance of Poole, Swanage etc it has very little in the immediate vicinity. We were hoping to do some walking given it backs onto the forest however, the walk to the rear of the site is poor. Out of the gate to the right within 150 yards it backs onto a gypsy site and is littered with scrap and rubbish. They have their horses tied up very close and it is far from clean. Out and to the left towards Wareham it is extremely wet and boggy.  With no path along the main road this is the extent of the walking. So far as the site is concern, it is clean, open and the staff friendly.  It does sit in a mobile black hole and we had no phone service for most of the weekend.  The wifi is extremely weak so if you have kids who need access to their social media perhaps you should reconsider. We are new to this game and this is only the fifth site we have visited but not one we would return to.

Honeymoon

We came to Hunters moon for our honeymoon and we made the right choice without a doubt, lovely site to relax and it was quiet when we came, weather was good and we had so much choice of things to do when we wanted, lovely local pub that does good food and takes dogs very close to site, in fact within walking distance, wareham itself with the scenic canal and lovely pubs everything we could have wanted and more, we will be coming again

Onenight only

A lovely site well maintained site, as you would expect being a Club site. A great location for the forest. My only problem was the noise from the neighbouring quarry, I am not sure if this is an everyday occurrence, but it didn't stop until about 7.30pm and then started up again early in the morning.....

Lovely site, lovely location, lovely people.

We had a warm welcome at the site when we arrived. The facilities are of the high standard we have come to associate with Caravan Club sites, communal areas were clean and the grounds tidy. It was very peaceful while we were there. The forest trails just off the site for the dog are splendid, though with all the recent rain many ended in puddles - however the hardstanding pitches drained well and we had no problems on the site. Hunters Moon was very well located for our visit to the Arne RSPB reserve, where, in addition to the different birds, there are a variety of different walks for the dog (dogs on lead on the reserve). Corfe Castle is very close, and we enjoyed a visit to the Ian Harris pottery in Corfe village. This site is definitely on our 'must revisit' list.

Good location

We arrived on this site in the afternoon, the greeting was adequate but the conversation deteriorated after this. We felt the warden would be well advised to take note of the phrase ' if you cannot say anything nice don't say anything at all'. We enjoyed our stay on this site as it is good for walking the dogs and visiting nearby Wareham and Studland Bay. We would probably use this site again.

Top Selection

We booked for a 2 night stay last weekend(13th/14th Nov) and unfortunately were held up on our journey down by a major accident. We rang the site to inform them of the situation and the fact that we still had quite a distance to travel being concerned that we would be too late. We were assured that we were not to worry just to ring the bell when we arrived and they would come out and see us in which they did and left the paperwork until the next morning. They were so helpful and being so worn out from our travelling we so appreciated this service which enabled us to settle in quite quickly. Having been here before we love the convenience of being so close to Wareham and other resorts. Well done wardens !!!!! One point for the future is that when booking on line it appeared that all of the grass pitches  were full and it would not allow you to book any other pitch but kept throwing you off the site page which  led you to believe that maybe the site was closed. In resorting to checking the situation through the main booking line we were able to book our hard standing pitch and on arrival  it was found that all the grass pitches had been closed due to the wet weather. It might be worth the site testing the web page first when or if that happens again.
