Great site

Great location, nice spotlessly clean facilities, this was our first visit, would definitely return lots to do in surrounding areas, a very nice part of our countryside and well worth a visit. Staff on site were very nice and friendly and kept the site looking lovely.

Beyond the norm

Having just purchased a new caravan we took it to Hunters Moon to commission it. On arrival we discovered that we had no manuals! Not to panic, help was at hand. The wardens were brilliant, nothing was to much trouble. The following day whilst out ,a car threw up a chipping and cracked our windscreen! The reception for mobile phones in the area is almost non existent, but on explaining our problem to the staff we where given use of the sites landline. We can not thank all staff for going the extra distance. This was customer care at it's best. Once again a huge thank you to all concerned.

Birdwatching heaven

A great site for bird watching.  Saw a Greater Spotted Woodpecker and a Nut Hatch.  Both came down to visit our peanuts along with all the other garden variety of birds.  The site was lovely, well laid out and clean.  Would definitely visit again.

A lovely site in a lovely area

Always a favourite site of ours, well maintained, lovely clean facilities and friendly helpful staff. A brief visit this time before sailing from Poole, the site couldn't accommodate us on our return leg of the trip as we do not sail into Poole until 2145hrs and the site hasn't got a late night arrivals area; however the warden did give us the phone number of the port at Poole (01202 440220) who explained where we can park safely on the quay overnight for £5.00.

Nice Serviced Pitches

The serviced pitches are good, but because they are close to the entrance/exit they're close to the road, which is pretty noisy, quarry lorries trundle up and down from early morning too, even on the Bank Holiday Monday.

Ideal for Poole ferry.

Helpful friendly staff and the usual Caravan Club high standard of super clean facilities. We were only there one night before catching the early ferry from Poole to Cherbourg. Our pitch was large enough to enable us to keep the caravan hitched up allowing us to to leave silently, clean and showered, at 5.30am! The journey to Poole ferry terminal took less than 30 minutes - brilliant. We felt sorry for the people who had spent the night in Poole docks!

Quiet Campsite

A nice quiet campsite, with occasional noise from the adjacent quarry. Sketchy O2/Giffgaff coverage. Public footpath to rear of the site is partially flooded and illegally blocked off just to the North. Access to the forest and walk into Wareham from opposite "The Silent Woman", is quite unpleasant along the very busy footpath less B road. Thereafter ok on forest tracks and normal footpaths once reaching town. Download the free Sika Trail PDF from the net before going.

Ideal for Visiting Dorset.

This site suits us very well, it's well kept, the wardens are always helpful and we enjoy the peace and quiet. Dorset this time of year is magic, the bluebells and primroses were stunning they were far more prolific then we have in this neck of the woods (norfolk). Our visit to Brownsea Island was good we saw one red squirrel!! but lots of peacocks and peahens to share lunch with!!. the ferryman gave us a round the island tour on the way back to Poole, a good day. A good holiday.
