Happy Camper

Found the staff very friendly and helpful. The facilities were excellent and the toilet block particularly clean and well-maintained. I stayed on a service pitch and was informed by the warden that there may be some road noise because of their location but I was happy with the choice. I enjoyed my stay and will certainly return.

Good site with some drawbacks

The site and facilities are immaculate and well maintained. We had hoped to walk and cycle from the site but the woodland immediately adjacent is marred by its proximity to a large landfill from which litter seems to spread around the area. This was also noticeable in the surrounding lanes. We stayed on a fully serviced pitch and did find the road noise intrusive, especially the number of heavy vehicles. Don't let me put you off though, it just didn't suit us! Everyone we spoke to loved it and many were frequent visitors.

My Recent break at Hunters Moon

I am not prone to complaining but I feel after this visit I need to mention a number of things to which I was disappointed 1 During our stay a Red cover was placed over the white post.  We and our neighbours expected a disabled member but were totally dumfounded when a Motorhome towing a car arrived, removed the cover and set up with a large awning, with 2 fit people on board.  The question is was this pitch reserved for this outfit (You cant reserve a pitch allegedly) Caravans drove past this prior looking for pitches, or were the Wardens reluctant to move them.  Is it one rule for one or not? 2  The exit Barrier was stuck up for the duration of our stay.  This was not at all very secure.  Not impressed. 3 Parking of vehicles on the pitches is supposed to be to the right of the Caravan.  Not on this visit. If this is the rule the Wardens should be strong enough to enforce it.

Response from The Club

Thank you for your recent review and I would like to be able to address your concerns regarding your stay on site.

I can confirm that Site Staff will only allocate a disabled pitch if they are told a member of the party is disabled when the member makes their booking. We would not expect Site Staff to question this. There are very few members who would book a disabled pitch who are not genuine although I am sorry and concerned to hear that you feel the system is being abused, however, not all peoples disabilities are apparent to the eye.

With regard to the exit barrier, the staff have confirmed there was a mechanical fault, due to the failing of the gearbox and were awaiting the repair company to source the parts so the repair could take place.  I am happy to confirm this is now operational again.  I would always advise speaking to the staff on site, if you ever have concerns during your stay as they would be more than happy to address these.

With regard to the parking of cars and erecting of awnings this would depend on how the outfit is pitched, as outfits can either pitch nose in or can be reversed on to the pitch, however, if the outfit, if reversed in, must be aligned with the marker post on the driver’s side and if pitched nose in, must be aligned with the marker post on the passenger side.

I do hope the above has gone some way in answering your concerns.

Hunters Moon

A quiet location, but within easy distances of the coast. Great walks in the nearby Wareham forest. Facilities are clear and warm (we were there in the early part of the season. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

great club site

The site is lovely and the staff very friendly. It is set in beautiful countryside and it is very convenient for some of the south coast's most gorgeous beaches. A true revelation and we can't wait to go back again. Dog walk is really good as well with more than enough poo bins which are emptied every day. Top notch and see you all again next April. Thanks to the warden team for a great job.

A very pleasant site

We stayed on this very pleasant site over half term in February. We were very pleased with all aspects - the standards of cleanliness in the washrooms, the dog walking on and off site, the easy access to Swanage, Poole and Dorchester, as well as to fantastic beaches at Studland Bay. Yes, a bit of road noise, but nothing to worry about. Warden team were very welcoming and friendly.

Enjoyable short break

Our first visit to Hunters Moon which we found to be a well located and easy to find site with good facilities. Great that you can access the Wareham Forest direct from a secure gate at the rear of the site with well defined tracks for enjoyable walks. Good friendly and helpful team or wardens. We enjoyed our stay in the motorhome and are certain to be back.

Happy Time

Very happy with the friendly wardens who took time to chat and get to know you-in particular my son and his money box spree in their shop. Sorry you had so many 2 pence pieces to sort. A good clean campsite close to lots to do and close enough to visit Lulworth Cove /Durdle Door. Good shopping at the Dolphin Centre in Poole for shop alcholics. Weymouth busy but Sealife centre a good day out advise to prebook buy online cheaper for family or use Kellogs voucher get in shops on boxes now.But pack up a picnic spend the day there lots to do and take swimming gear a paddling pool and splash pool so go on hot day.Train along the seafront then have a ride up the tower. Do your research for this and you will get your money worth. Road noise but not unbearable a few ambulances heard while we stayed. Dogs a few noisy ones. A very enjoyable stay we were sad to leave.

Wonderful Variety

The site is a regular because of proximity to home for that quick break, although our last stay was 5 nights, over the Easter Holidays.  The sight is normally peaceful and quiet, except for irresponsible dog owners like the done opposite us whose dog was aggressively noisy to all and sundry that walked by!  We also had a 'hard of hearing' person next door who needed volume on his stereo.  Such is life!  This did not detract from the brilliant staff, cleanliness of the facilities, tidiness of the grounds despite the storms, and the variety of attractions from beach, to forest, to boating, to sightseeing, to shopping.  We just love this sight!
