Good site for visiting Dorset

Go to this site every year, as our daughter lives nearby. Friendly and helpful wardens. I only have one complaint, we got flooded twice when it rained as there were not enough stones on the pitch. I asked for some and were duly tipped some in our porch awning, no help was offered to spread them around, but this did stop any further flooding of the pitch. Please please could the pitches be checked as its a real inconvenience when your pitch floods.  I will be returning next year as the site us very convenient for visiting a lot of places, it's kept immaculately clean.

Dissappointed

Although this site is quiet and spotless, we were very disappointed to find that we could not get a mobile phone signal and although we have a satellite dome we were unable to get any signal. The reception was selling aerial leads but at £17 a go they are extortionate. I would suggest that these leads should be on hire at a nominal charge. The Wardens were very nice and helpful. The nearest bus route is 2 miles away so if you are in a motorhome or camper you are forced to take the vehicle out or walk if you are able. We will not be returning.

Wonderful

We stayed from 20th to 26th June 2016 and I wish to commend all the staff for a very warm welcome and assistance. Jo and Malcolm Wringley greeted us with a fantastic welcome and were very helpful with any request, nothing was too much trouble for them. Their colleagues, although I did not get their names, were also very accommodating they even helped us to connect our A frame on our departure. They all came to see us on our departure and wished us a well and safe journey. Hopefully we will meet them at another campsite in the near future. The site was spotlessly clean and tidy.No complaints at all. A big thank you to Jo and Malcolm

Enjoyed visiting a number of places including; Blue Pool, Weymouth, West Bay, Lyme Regis, Lulworth Cove & Castle, Swanage, Durlston Castle & coastal path, Old Harry Rocks, Abbotsbury Gardens. This is just a few of the lovely places there.

Very nice site but busy

We visited this site twice, once for 3 day whilst on our way to the West Country and for 1 night on our return. The wardens were always very friendly and helpful. The site was immaculate. It was very busy on both occasions in fact we were fortunate enough to book the last remaining pitch on our return. Whilst there we went to monkey world, which is highly recommended and to the RSPB reserve at Arne. Which is also well worth a visit.

Wish we'd found this earlier!

We overnighted at Hunters Moon last week, whilst en route from Cornwall to the Lake District, via Bournemouth. (Family business). For us, it was ideal in that we received a friendly welcome, the facilities were spotless, it had an excellent dog walk, and all packaged in a fairly small space, yet which did not feel crowded. Given that we were a fairly late booking, we were fortunate to get in, but now we know the site, we will have it on our list of "must revisits".

Busy but lovely!

Just spent 12 days here.   Can't fault the wardens in any way at all,  friendly, helpful ,  hard working and welcoming. Congratulations as this is not the case everywhere. Site is beautifully kept without being manicured. When full it can feel a bit regimented but it's ok. Definitely feels safe and secure.  Pub down road has tasty steaks and Asian restaurant on Bournemouth road (29029 I think it's called) has interesting and different Asian food well cooked and presented. Wareham forest is excellent for dogs and humans alike,  especially biking enthusiasts. Can't comment on suitability for children but other parents seemed to rate it. Would happily recommend.

Peaceful break

We have recently returned home following a 3 night stay at Hunters Moon site.  We found it to be peaceful during the day and night.  The site was clean and tidy, wardens friendly and helpful. We would definately return to carry on exploring the area.

First class site.

From the minute we arrived to the time we left, we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The site was extremely clean, tidy and well maintained. The reception sold all you needed if you had run out of major food provisions and items you might need for the van. The toilet blocks were excellent and very clean.  The field for dog walking was very good even provided a mini Forrest for them to run around. The entrance is very wide and clear leading onto a road which has a very good view in both directions.  The nearest town of Wareham has all you need with a co-op and sainsbury. The quay is delightful to sit and watch the steam paddle boat take visitors down to Poole. Within minutes of the site is the Sika trail in the Wareham Forest. A wonderful well laid out adventure for children, cyclist, dog walkers, bird watchers etc. I can not recommend this site enough. We will definitely be back.
