Not the usual CC high standard

We used this as a one night stop over for the port at Poole.  The lady warden was rather direct and abrupt on arrival. We were placed on pitch 7, right by the site entrance which wasn't ideal for our two children. The pitch was also adjacent a busy road, so the occasional night time traffic kept waking us up throughout the night. Not ideal when we had an early ferry to catch!!! The pitches looked tired with weeds growing out of the hard standings and the edgings being rather over grown in areas. Really not up to caravan clubs usual high standards.  The toilets were immaculate and the information centre excellent though.  Wareham is a lovely village and the site is ideally placed for the ferry port.  This site simply isn't worth the cost and does bring the worth of my membership.

Good site and central

Lovely site, only problem was one night the MOD were on manoeuvres firing big guns till 10 PM which unnerved children staying in the awning. Not the sites fault. but at least you now know.

Great Site

My family and I have just come back from Hunters Moon and it really is a good site. Facilities and wardens top notch. As others have said in their reviews it really is a great central location for lots to see and do. Nothing to do with the site but the local pub down the road called the Silent Woman does not accept children under 14 years old. Crazy I thought but their loss not mine.

Very Enjoyable Break!

We have just returned from a very enjoyable few nights staying on this site. Excellent facilities. They were kept very clean and tidy even though the site was full and extremely busy. Very pleasant and helpful wardens. Lovely walks from the site and a good position for visiting a range of places in the area.

Happy Holiday in Dorset

Well positioned site in Dorset countryside. Blessed with fantastic weather. Well placed for interesting family days out. Quiet site with good facilities and hardworking wardens.

Spotless and extremely well kept

We found Hunters Moon to be one of the most spotless and well kept sites we've visited. In a beautiful spot close to Wareham Forest and some lovely walks. There were only two points that we found that were negative for us, they were that the pitch sizes are very tight, not much privacy and the noise from the road was a bit off putting. In fairness, it really was a last minute booking so was probably the only pitch left.

July 2016 visit

Second time at this site, the last visit was a winter one. This time it was very noticeable how much road noise there is, but i guess its inevitable with warm weather meaning windows and roof lights open. We will come again but hope that by then the drinking water tap on the lower toilet block has been sorted out. It took an age to fill a 40ltr barrel, and was like it for the whole two weeks.
