This is a nice site, the reason I gave it 3* for peace & quiet was because there wasn't much of a choice on arrival in the grass pitch area and ended up at the bottom part of the site right next to the very busy road (day & night!!) which we didn't realise until we were all set up. It was very much in the shade and becoming quite muddy due to the ground sloping that way. So be aware! If you end up in that area. The site itself is very nice and all very clean. Lovely location.
September holiday
Great site everything spic and span very friendly staff amenities block could, not have been cleaner, overall 11/10.
Good place to stay
We met up with family for a four day break. On arrival staff checked on where our family were and allotted us the next pitch available to them, just one caravan between us. Everything was clean and tidy. The dog walking area was well fenced, the grass cut short and a good size. There was also a rougher walking area alongside. Small shop in reception was ample for emergency needs. Showers and toilets very good and clean. Easy access to the site and easy to find. All very good

2nd visit
My first visit was one night stop over on route to France, this time was a four nights stay, give us a chance to visit parts of Dorset we have not seen before, with just short drives and walks from site.frendly staff and very clean site, only set back site was full and only two pitches to choose from both under over hanging oak trees with oak apples and small branches falling on our roof, wasn't well pleased about that ,could benefit from a good-prune.

Weeks Stay in September
On arriving at the site we were lucky to get a pitch in the central area of the site. When we walked the dog later we were a little concerned to see that there is a travelers park at the far side of the site, however we did not notice any noise from this during our stay although the pitches nearer to it may have.
The facilities were good and the site was kept clean and tidy. The shop was well stocked and the wardens were friendly and helpful.
First visit
A new site for us, great for visiting the beautiful area of Purbeck. Great site, friendly helpful staff, very clean and well maintained. Good dog walk. We do like the option of booking hard standing or grass, don't do grass! Hope the club use this facility on other sites in future. Noticed that some pitches are overshadowed by trees, again another site that need a prune back, screening is good but trees dripping on the roof all night is not nice. Fortunately we got an open pitch. Enjoyed a great holiday, Wareham a lovely little town, Swanage by train a great adventure, harbour trip in Poole, just a few of places visited, and lovely weather, result!
Report
Nice site, good location, site cleanish but a bit untidy, but staff conspicuous by there absence, you never see them unless you go in the reception or they are emptying the bins. Other sites like at Camping & Caravaning Club the staff go round checking everything and chatting to people, Caravan Club staff dont seem to do this on any site.
And why are the hardstandings so hard you can bareley get pegs in? Surely there is a better way of making these without such deep rock hard bases.
SEP 2016 -
Stayed here for 6 nights early September , site is very clean and tidy , close to monkey world and the tank museum , location is top draw
The only fault I had with the site is the there was no water mains down in the dip ( as in all the pitches down the slope past the toilet block ) so to get any water you had to go to the main block , it's not a very big deal but as an improvement water down the dip would be handy .......
Hunters Moon
This was our first visit to Hunters Moon and we were very pleased. We had a disappointing visit to another site, earlier in the year and are still in disagreement with the Club, NOT the wardens, in this particular case, so this site was a real pleasure.
The wardens made us feel most welcome and, taking account of my wife's disability, ( and my heart condition), held a pitch for us, which was suitable, with easy access to the toilet facilities.
There were many places to visit, Swanage, Corfe and its sadly ruined castle, Dorchester and much lovely countryside. There is a very good Pub/restaurant nearby but members should be aware that they do NOT welcome children inside the bar area. Thus it is more enjoyable for adults looking for a good meal in quiet surroundings.
The music in the toilet block, from BBC radio 2, was a novel idea and took some time for me to adjust to it. I normally enjoy my morning ablutions as a time for contemplation!
It was also a good idea to provide croissants and 'pain au chocolate' for one to add to the more usual breakfast menu.
We shall look forward to returning

Great stay
We have stayed here for the great Dorset steam fair for many years and as usual it was a great stay, the toilet/shower blocks are spotless the pitches are good and most importantly the people who run the site are very friendly and helpful. Thanks
