SEP 2016 -

Stayed here for 6 nights early September , site is very clean and tidy , close to monkey world and the tank museum , location is top draw  The only fault I had with the site is the there was no water mains down in the dip ( as in all the pitches down the slope past the toilet block ) so to get any water you had to go to the main block , it's not a very big deal but as an improvement water down the dip would be handy .......

Hunters Moon

This was our first visit to Hunters Moon and we were very pleased. We had a disappointing visit to another site, earlier in the year and are still in disagreement with the Club, NOT the wardens, in this particular case, so this site was a real pleasure. The wardens made us feel most welcome and, taking account of my wife's disability, ( and my heart condition), held a pitch for us, which was suitable, with easy access to the toilet facilities.  There were many places to visit, Swanage, Corfe and its sadly ruined castle, Dorchester and much lovely countryside. There is a very good Pub/restaurant nearby but members should be aware that they do NOT welcome children inside the bar area. Thus it is more enjoyable for adults looking for a good meal in quiet surroundings. The music in the toilet block, from BBC radio 2, was a novel idea and took some time for me to adjust to it. I normally enjoy my morning ablutions as a time for contemplation! It was also a good idea to provide croissants and 'pain au chocolate' for one to add to the more usual breakfast menu. We shall look forward to returning

Great stay

We have stayed here for the great Dorset steam fair for many years and as usual it was a great stay, the toilet/shower blocks are spotless the pitches are good and most importantly the people who run the site are very friendly and helpful. Thanks

An excellent site at Hunters Moon, Wareham

The site is easily accessed following the instructions in the Club Handbook. The welcome was, as is always experienced warm and friendly with a clear explanation of available pitches and site etiquette. It was pity that some now departed visitors did not lift their awning groundsheets on a daily basis as requested, leaving some badly damaged grass areas. The toilets were exceptionally clean - it was a busy week in August and the background music (Radio 2) in the toilet block as a welcome and cheery muffler to the the normal shower and toilet use sounds. The site was very clean, tidy and well maintained with rigorous grass cutting and bin emptying. Despite the notification of poor TV signals, we found that our 14 year old caravan's Status Aerial worked well, avoiding the need to plug in to the site TV feed on the electrical power posts.   The shop was well stocked with essentials including ice cream and at weekends hot croissants and pan-o chocolates. Well done to the site team!

Great site

We've stayed at this site 3 times now,  its a great get away for short breaks as we live locally. The site has hard standing and grass pitches. Facilities are immaculate and staff are very friendly and helpful. Lots of places to visit, great pub just down the road. The only word of warning is the play area! We pitched our caravan close to the play area only to find most of the kids around the site start to gather there from about 6.30pm and the noise is very loud until almost 10pm. I have kids of my own and know they are only having fun, but if you like the quieter evenings then make sure you choose a pitch away from the area. Perhaps the wardens could warn you of the noise. All in all definitely worth a stay.

Great family holiday

This site is in an excellent position for visiting the resorts and attractions of Dorset, the site is mainly flat, has a good play area and field as well as direct access into Wareham Forest. The wardens were friendly and kept the facilities clean at all times even when the site was full, the site was quiet at night but we were woken very early on three occasions by people noisily packing up. There is a nearby station where we used the train to reach Weymouth and Bournemouth, parking was cheap and free on sundays. All in all this site is great for a traditional family holiday.

One night stop over

We stayed at this site the night before our ferry crossing, we were warmly welcomed by the staff who suggested a hard standing near toilet block. Facilities were immaculately clean. Highly recommend staying here for early morning ferry departures, 15 mins drive to port and no problems when needing to leave early in the morning.

Summer Holiday

We stayed 12 nights here as our main summer holiday. The site was easy to find and we received a nice welcome. It is good that you can book either a hardstanding or a grass pitch before you arrive. The site was quite full when we arrived but we got a good pitch, nice and open and near to the play area for our children. Some of the pitches are under the canopy of trees which would make them quite shaded. The toilet and shower facilities were kept very clean and the site was well maintained. The play area was good for the children, however it was a shame that the grass on the large playing field was very long with only about a 3 mtre circle of grass cut around the football goal post and some paths cut in to reach it, the dog walk area on the other hand was very meticulously maintained!! Therefore the playing field was hardly used which is and such a shame as it would be a good area away from the caravans for the children to play and let off steam. The location of the site was good for exploring the area and there was lots to see and do. There were days where there were some bad smells carried on the wind - from a local treatment plant. The hardstandings are very hard and we even managed to bend some rock pegs. But all in all we really enjoyed our stay on this site and we will definately return, to do all the things we could not fit in on this trip.

Lovely site

Very friendly and welcoming staff, very helpful. Lovely location to visit the coastal attractions. Great access from the road, no narrow awkward roads to negotiate. Nice dog walking area not over large but sufficient. Well maintained and looked after site.

A wonderful site

We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend. We were greeted by the very friendly wardens. The site is well maintained and the shower blocks were spotles even one block having music. The wardens were very helpful with giving us advice on places to visit and directions. It has a well stocked little shop and on a weekend croissants and baked banquettes are available and throughout the weekthe warden makes homemade  scones which were a nice little treat. There is a large dog walk and a park for the younger generation. I highly recommend this site and look forward to revisiting next year.
