Club rules

Stayed on site for 8 nights, quiet clean site with lots to do and great transport links, can not fault the site. My only grumble is when arriving on site. The rules clearly state that pitches are available from 12 noon, so why do people arrive at 10am expecting to get on site and then staff allowing them on at 11! Reception staff should be aware of this rule, as people who follow the rules are at a disadvantage. We saw this practice most days when waiting for the bus, it's not fair to those who book well in advance and maybe a surcharge should be introduced for those who arrive early?

Hillhead has only enough room for approx. 10 caravans/motorhomes in the arrival area If everyone came at 12pm then they would be queuing out on the narrow road bus route. This is why you can arrive early.

I don't know Hillhead, but I can think of 3 or 4 club sites we've stayed at where access is easy and there would be little problem with early arrivals outside of peak times. (After all, such arrivals often penalise themselves with a restricted  pitch choice.) I think the club does make a problem for itself by having these strict arrival/departure arrangements which folk already on site see not being adhered to, sometimes for quite legitimate reasons which may not be clear to them.

Still, we are where we are - everyone knows (or should do) what is expected and it's a part of club membership you surely accept when joining.

When joining the club and becoming a member you are agreeing to the rules set out in the book and it doesn't matter how much space for parking there is rules are rules and EVERYONE  should abide by them and not expect to be treated differently

Yes, I agree.  We have just had 7 nights there and could have arrived earlier than 12 noon.  However we pulled into a layby for 30 minutes to abide by these rules.  If we had realized they let you on early we could have gone straight there.  So come on Caravan club get your rules adhered to or scrap them on this site if it causes congestion out on the road.

Everyone goes on about the 12 o'clock arrival rule. But no one mentions the. 5mph rule this should apply to bike's and scooters. No one mentions the breathable groundsheet rule, some grass pitches were bare. And what about the 2 dog rule. I saw people with 3 4 and 5 dogs. So if we are moaning about rules don't just pick on one rule

What "2 dog rule"? undecided

The 5mph speed limit does apply to all vehicles/modes of transport.

There is no 2 dog rule. Are you perhaps thinking of the 2m lead length rule?
