Staff very helpful

The staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival. A few days into my stay a family emergency meant that I had to return home prematurely. The wardens couldn't have been more helpful and hope they read this.

Excellent site

Arrived after 8 pm due to a pile-up on the M40. We rang ahead to explain and the wardens put off going out that evening to ensure we could get on site. He also suggested a pitch so we didn’t have to select one in the dark - and an excellent choice it was! Good site with an average size dog walk - they are not meant for exercising your dog! People either want absolute silence or are able to treat traffic as white noise. There is traffic noise at this site, but it is by no means continuous during the day or a major thing overnight. We enjoyed the walk into Henley although the pavement is quite narrow. The walk on the near side of the Thames is fields and a grass footpath, that on the far side has the boathouses and tarmac paths. We would use the site again.

Lovely Part of the World

Access is easy, direct off the Henley Marlow Road. Check in was friendly and efficient. Nice large HS pitches and a well appointed toilet block. Decent 4g signal on EE and O2 but TV is only possible through hook up lead. Small scamper for dogs. Avoid pitches near road, it is very noisy.

Well placed for visiting a lovely part of the UK

During our short stay we found Henley Four Oaks to be a very pleasant site. We checked in quickly and efficiently with a very pleasant warden. Really good water and disposal facilities for Motorhomers. We enjoyed a good pitch surrounded by some very friendly guests. The busy road does mean that you are able to walk into Henley within a few minutes, and well worth a visit as is Marlow just a bike ride away. Lots of walks by the Thames are easily accessible. The Site feels quite small but certainly not too crowded and is well placed for visiting a lovely part of the UK. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

Disappointing.

Well, what a disappointment we felt this site was after just coming from Abbey Wood. From the time we booked in the wardens were miserable to the point of being unhelpful, and I have to say that when I was ‘advised’ there was an ‘issue’ with my hook up lead there was a distinct lack of good manners. The on site ‘dog walk’ is a pathetic approx 20metres x 15 metres which means dogs are being exercised on site, causing them to ‘foul’ on other site users pitches. The road (which has had so many previous reviews) is very busy and noisy, but this naturally is to be expected and accounted for when booking a site which butts on to a main highway. The pavement from site to the nearest bus stop 400 metres away and is very narrow. When it rains you play ‘Russian Roulette’ with the cars ploughing through the puddles which build up on the kerbside. There are definitely far better sites to use in order to visit both Henley or Marlow. We certainly won’t be using this Club site ever again. - So disappointed with the location and attitude of the wardens.

First Visit (ever)

As a newbie to the camper scene, we found the staff on site really friendly and accommodating. The site itself is in an excellent location with a simple stroll into Henley centre where there is lots to see and places to eat and drink. Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. :-)

Second visit

We were on this site the same time last year, late July for 2 weeks without any problems. The wardens are helpful and friendly and the facilities are very clean. We couldn't really hear any road noise. The visit was spoiled by a plague of ants and beetles on our pitch after we had rain on the first weekend. Before that the pitch was fine and we were able to relax outdoors. After the rain we couldn't sit outside because of the ants crawling all over the table and chairs and as the weather was extremely hot it was unbearable at times. The beasties were even getting into the caravan with all the nets down I don't know if the infestation was caused by a tree right behind the van with dangling braches. The tree shed a mega amount of seed pods. It proved very problematic removing them from the nets not just on the roof but the windows too. To be fair this was an act of nature but for me it ruined the holiday.

Great site

We stayed at the Four Oakes site for a few nights so our daughter could camp with her best friend. Great place to do this as you have walks in the town, shops, walks along the river and some country walks as well. We were at the back of the site so didn't have any problems with road noise. You do have to walk along this road to get into town though, its only a short walk but the pavement is narrow so not the greatest experience. There has been some comments about TV reception as well but we don't watch TV while camping so not a problem for us! Site is clean and well looked after and the staff were friendly and approachable. Henley is a lovely town with some great bars and restaurants. We enjoyed our visit and will be back next year.

Henley Four Oaks

We stayed on Henley Four Oaks site for 7 nights. As stated in other reviews there is some road noise, it didn’t cause us any problems and we had a restful holiday. The TV reception is poor and the booster system on the EHU wasn’t working, but we managed with the 5 main channels on our TV. The reception sells the basics and you can get a morning newspaper. The information room is well stocked and outside the door is a small planter with herbs, which you can pick. Henley on Thames is a lovely town and worth the visit, lots of shops and car parks are plentiful. We visited Greys Court and Nuffield house, which are both close to the site. Henley four oaks is worth a visit and I am sure we will return.
