Poor customer service

When getting to site we was approached by the site manager. He was very rude towards my mother as we was in different vans. No man should speak to a lady like that and he should be ashamed of him self. I wouldn’t be going back to this site I think he need to go on some training. Very poor customer service I think some mangers forget we are still paying customer. Had better service in mc Donald’s !!!

Beware B6138

B6138 from the south to the site, it the worst road for towing a caravan, enter the site from the north.

Great site, friendly welcome but no toilet block.

Great site friemdly welcome. The site is a 15 min walk down into Mytholmroyd or up to the robin hood pub (great food by the way). The But is that I didnt read the small message saying that this site has no toilet block - which was fine as we like others are self contained. Perhaps its just me but £24.50 (first night) and £29.50 for the second is expensive for a pitch without facilities. (2 adults and pitch). It was fully booked this w/e so why charge less! 3rd and 4th night spent at CL Rooley farm, couple of miles away. Same facilities same great welcome and £16/ night. Views were fantactic too. Very quiet enjoyable stay though.

Lovely site with lovely wardens

I went here recently for one night, to familiarise myself with my new motorhome. I am recently widowed and although we'd had a large motorhome as a couple, all the technical stuff was my husband's domain. So when I downsized the van I had to learn everything from scratch. This visit was to enable me to feel confident that I knew how to set up and use my van comfortably. I arrived to a lovely warm welcome from the wardens, Linda & Peter and I explained that I was new to the solo motorhome life. They were both very friendly and offered whatever help they could give if I needed it. They were both really happy, friendly people and they made me feel like I wasn't an idiot for not knowing stuff! As it turned out, I managed without any hitches but I was reassured by the wardens right from the get-go which was a great relief to me in my novice state! I would recommend this site for peace & quiet and for walking; nearby Hebden Bridge is a lovely stroll away along the canal. Local pubs do lovely food and local shops & cafes are perfect for holiday needs.

Return Visit

We have recently returned from another visit to one of our favourite and local sites. We stayed on a non awning pitch backing onto the river, our only soundtrack was bird song and running water. We did get the train to Halifax and visited piece hall had a lovely day and lunch then train back to hebden bridge for a couple drinks then bus back. We called in at the local Indian takeaway for a menu, this is where you need to take note, food ordered and delivered only to find the cost was more than the menu stated, upon delivery we were told that prices had risen and no free delivery anymore on the upside food was lovely, so please be aware if ordering check the cost. Buses run from outside the site to most areas or bus connections. This did not spoil our weekend will return again to this hidden gem if we can get in due to its popularity.

Peaceful and lovely area

Found this to be a peaceful and tidy site with good pitches and enough room. A small toilet block would be most useful. A note on the Access could be made that caravans avoid the satnav road access as this runs to a railway bridge tunnel that only takes 6’ wide transport and we had to reverse back down with a 8 foot wide caravan and 27 foot long twin axle. Not ideal and apparently others have been caught out and were directed to the turning over the bridge prior to this access road. The Wardens were very helpful with an issue in our caravan which we eventually sorted. Thank you We will definitely come back to this site.

Fabulous location

First stay at this site and love it! It's my favourite camc site now! Very well set out. Clean and tidy. Bus stop outside. Great village with pubs, cafes shops within a mile walk. 2 pubs the other direction. A nice walk along the river. Lots of walks straight from the site.

A quiet and well-run site but not as close to Hebden Bridge as we hoped, and not good for dogs.

We spent four nights at this site. It is easy to find and the access is good. The pitches are (fairly) level and graveled. Some pitches are fully serviced. Most are partially shaded. There is no toilet or shower block. This is a small site just outside a village called Mytholmroyd. Hebden Bridge is a good 50 minute walk away. This was disappointing to discover as I was there alone for part of the stay, with no car, and I'd planned to spend the day in Hebden Bridge. If I'd read the reviews I would have found this out, but I wrongly assumed the 'Hebden Bridge' site was close to Hebden Bridge. We visited Haworth and the Halifax Piece Hall while we were there. The site was convenient for both these places. My main issue is with the dog-walking area, which is tiny, muddy, and not secure, so I couldn't allow our dogs off the lead. The male warden was stroppy when our dogs (on their leads of course) strayed onto the grass adjacent to unoccupied pitches as were en route to the dog area. A friendly word would have been so much better. Afterwards, I felt anxious every time I needed to take the dogs out. Luckily, the weather was poor so we spent our time at the site inside the caravan.

Loved it!

Had an excellent visit. In pitch 1 which had a gently babbling brook right behind it and it was a lovely noise to go to sleep to and wait up to (with the bird song too). We walked up to the Robin Hood pub (not the one in Hebden Bridge with the same name) and it was fantastic. Definitely book a meal there. Got the train from Mytholmroyd (about 1 mile away and walkable down pavement) into Halifax (a tip from the locals at Robin Hood) which was interesting - especially Piece Hall and the Calderdale Industrial Museum.

Lovely site in an excellent location

This is our second visit to Hebden bridge, the site is basic but lovely, the wardens were very polite and even phoned us when we where travelling to them to check everything was ok. When we arrived the office was closed but we just followed the instructions on the office door and found our pitch and then paid in the morning. Hebden Bridge is a 50 minute walk from the site and is is a lovely walk. Plenty to do in the surrounding area and we will definitely be visiting again in the near future.
