Lots of walks, sites to see, easy 5 min walks to Hawes market town.
Facilities are clean and well looked after by the staff. Pleasant friendly staff always ready to help.
The pitches are pretty flat as well and minimum wedging required if at all, so great for camper vans.
If you have a dog, there is a huge off lead dog field for them to have a great time in.
They have a little onsite shop in the reception for essentials.
Great pubs and food in the town. There are plenty of shops for crafts, antiques, clothes etc.
There's a pottery, metal crafts and obviously, Wenseleydale creamery to visit, all within walking distance.
Highly recommend site.
Fantastic location
As motorhomers, it is a perfect location. Short, easy walk into Hawes, which has a variety of independent shops, chemist, Spar, pubs and cafes. It even has a pet shop which was a bonus as I had forgotten the dogs collars ! (They travel in a harness)
There is a fish & chip shop and pizza takeaway.
The Wendsleydale Creamery shop has some lovely gifts and the cheese shop area is amazing, lots of samples!
The site is well maintained, facilities clean nicely laid out and very peaceful and quiet. The usual high standards we love on CMC sites. Dog walk field is exceptional but we didn’t find a dog wash ??
Lots of walks from the site, being in the National Park they are all well signposted. Several impressive waterfalls within easy walking distance.
We stayed 4 nights, which in a motorhome we usually find is enough and we are ready to move on but we felt we could have stayed much longer. We definitely be returning for a longer stay.
OCTOBER 2023
This site is fabulous - very clean facilities - lovely wardens - good sized pitches - laid in bed watching red squirrels running round behind the van (heaven). Very handy for Hawes which has lovely, pubs, cafes and a very nice Indian restaurant.
Great site in lovely location
This is a very clean and well kept site in a great location. Lots of walks from the site of various lengths and difficulties. A nice short walk in to the lovely town of Hawes with some great shops, cafes, pubs and takeaways.
Good TV reception on pitch 9
Great site. Lovely location. Pleasant staff. Clean facilities. Great dog walk on site. All good.
Fantastic site pity we did not stay longer
What a fantastic site cannot praise the staff highly enough. The site is immaculate in all area's from pitch's to dog walk to showers and waste area's. The information area is well stocked with all you could want and even has a little library. The site shop has a good selection of goods for those of us who are forgetful we even managed to purchase an Arial extension for the TV. This is one of the best sites we have stayed on so far and we will be returning.
Thanks so much for a great stay.
A Site that has everything
One of the CMCs best sites. Good facilities, well looked after and cared for by a team of brilliant wardens. Must be the best dog walk on the network too.
Hawes has everything you require as long as it’s not a Supermarket, and it’s close to the site.
Grocery shops, Butchers, Pubs a plenty, numerous cafes. Plus a variety of independent shops. I did miss the Newsagent this time though. Popular attractions are the Dales Countryside Museum and the Wensleydale Creamery.
All set in the most beautiful Dales Countryside. Several local walks and longer hikes for the more energetic. Keen cyclists can zoom up and down the hills without too much vehicle competition.
Dales bus and the Little White bus provide a limited service if you want to leave your car parked. Walks around Askrigg and Bainbridge both with tea rooms and Pubs should refreshment be required.
A small Tuesday market in Hawes but the Leyburn Friday market possibly a better bet.
Note the club and local tourist signs advertise the Ropemakers but that closed a while ago.

getting very expensive
we have just returned from a tour of Scotland and Hawes was our last site . great location but club sites are getting very expensive we stayed at five independent sites and their facilities were as good if not better ( one washing Machine at Hawes ! ) and we paid no more than £33 . also when your wardens are spraying weed killer can we have signs up please so we can keep dogs away if we were off site we would not of saw the weed killer being applied .
Excellent site with very helpful wardens
We loved this site and wish we had booked for longer as there are so many walks and attractions nearby.
The wardens were extremely helpful and went out of their way to assist us when we had a problem unhitching our caravan. A big thank you to Matt for bringing his tool kit and helping us with a very stressful situation.
We will definitely return when we have more time to explore the area properly.
