The drive to the site has great views although larger units will have to take it easy on some narrow parts of the A-roads. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. There are great views of the Dales from the site and the walks nearby. The town of Hawes is a short walk along pavements and has dog-friendly cafes and pubs, and a picturesque waterfall. The site is a comfortable size and our pitch was pretty level and only needed a small wedge on one side. The site is peaceful and quiet with very little road noise although the pitches on the lower side of the site are overlooked by the next-door dairy farm sheds that did have some mooing. Overall, a great site and one to return to.
Superb Location
The site is in an ideal position on the edge of Hawes with fabulous views. It is an excellent location from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales. The pitches are very level. The site is immaculately clean and well maintained. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The information room is well stocked and has offer leaflets/vouchers for various local attractions including 2 for 1 offer on entry to the Wensleydale Creamery which was worth a visit. Lots of pubs and coffee shops doing good value food. Lovely circular walk to the waterfall at Hardraw. Have recommended it to several friends.
Brilliant site, great enclosed dog walk space, friendly staff: a great first trip for my puppy
Stayed for 2 nights in October 2023, my puppy's first camping trip in my moho. A bit daunting as we are still working on toilet training..
Checking in and out couldn't have been easier. The really friendly site team explained everything really clearly. The friendly chap in shorts was on hand for any enquiries over the weekend and literally never stopped working.
This site is fabulous: really clean and up to date facilities, including a laundry. Spacious pitches. Pretty level, although I did use blocks to even out a bit. Very close to Hawes, an easy walk to pubs, cafes, shops, restaurants, a deli and a chemist. Everything you need to just pitch up and relax. I didn't need to drive anywhere.
The very best bit for me was the amazing enclosed dog walking enclosure. Calling it a a field really isn't accurate as it is a huge grassy meadow, edged with trees that has it's own little wood. It's fully enclosed with wire mesh fencing. Not sure I'd let my greyhound off the lead as there were rabbits everywhere and he'd gallop straight into the fencing. But my little puppy loved being off the lead and meeting lots of big dogs. It does get very muddy in the dog walk so don't forget your wellies!
Really it was the perfect site for us, and we will definitely be back at some point.
Hawes site
Stayed here 21st for 3 nights, site not busy, nice well laid out site, excellent facilities especially the toilet block.
Short walk, 10 mins, to Hawes reachable by a foot path.
Great site and one we will visit again, though probably in warmer months.
Excellent site, lovely staff
The site is excellent. Perfect location for Hawes and the surrounding area. Easily accessible with great facilities. Dog walk is great. Toilets and showers modern and spotless. Many pitches are level and easy to reverse onto, especially as a solo caravaner with no motor mover. The lady who checked me in had brilliant site knowledge and her pitch number recommendation was spot on for what I'd said. The staff were very helpful and always pleasant and seemed to always be busy beavering away keeping the site up to scratch. Could do with a dog wash area but that is literally the only thing I could fault and it's not essential.
Excellent Site
Really impressed with the site, walking distance to the town, which has several pubs, cafes and an Indian restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay but wish we had booked longer. Site was immaculate, the wardens couldn't have been more helpful. Helped us when we had problems with our TV lead. We have put this on our list of sites to return to. I had been doing CLS recently to avoid the regimental wardens on some sites, these guys blew it out the park, very impressive hospitality probably best wardens we have met.
Great site
Lovely site near to a working farm and short walk into Hawes. Clean facilities and friendly staff. Quiet site, we pitched near the access road but what little traffic didn’t bother us. Cows at nearby farm noisy when milking but we liked to hear them. Most pitches level with a great dog walking field. Lots of water and waste facilities near the pitches. Disabled toilet open to use when toilet block being cleaned and they often reopened early which is a bonus. We have been to many club sites in the past when the cleaning has been for the convenience of the staff not the customer. Dry room accessed by a key is a great place for your wet items. What would make this site even better is a dog shower because the dog field gets boggy and also extending the opening hours of the large games room (or providing a key to use it ). Current opening hours 9am - 8pm. We would have used it in the evening until around 10pm if available.
Great site, great location
The staff were helpful and friendly, and the site spotless and well appointed as you would expect. Great showers & toilets although there is only one hand dryer, a small thing but two would avoid the hustle.
The location is an easy walk from Hawes village - less than ten minutes - and the village itself has at least four pubs, various restaurants and cafes and a chip shop that’s open every day. Plenty to do around and about including the Wensleydale Creamery (cheese factory and shop), Hardraw Force and plenty of walks or drives.
I had 4g phone signal at all times.
If you’re in a motorhome or camper van bring big ramps!

Wonderful Wardens!
We stayed here for 3 nights in early October. The facilities were as spotlessly clean as we have come to expect on Club sites.
We had a lovely pitch with the River Ure behind us.
After setting up we got directions from the friendly wardens and took a walk to Hardraw Force. It's a fairly short, flat walk across fields. You pay at the cafe behind the closed pub as it's on private land but it's well worth it to see the spectacular high drop.
Hawes town is picturesque with a variety of shops. The Wensleydale Creamery is interesting and if you like cheese you can taste before you buy. The town makes much of the Wallace & Gromit connections with amazing knitted sculptures here and there.
Unfortunately, the entrance step to our campervan broke. The wardens lent us their caravan one and suggested they could receive an Amazon delivery of a new one for us at the office next day, which they did.
They also helped us to amend our booking for our next site on their master system. All assistance was given with a friendly smile. Great ambassadors for the Club. Thank you all for your help.
We look forward to our next visit.
Hawes is the best site for the Yorkshire Dales
Lots of walks, sites to see, easy 5 min walks to Hawes market town.
Facilities are clean and well looked after by the staff. Pleasant friendly staff always ready to help.
The pitches are pretty flat as well and minimum wedging required if at all, so great for camper vans.
If you have a dog, there is a huge off lead dog field for them to have a great time in.
They have a little onsite shop in the reception for essentials.
Great pubs and food in the town. There are plenty of shops for crafts, antiques, clothes etc.
There's a pottery, metal crafts and obviously, Wenseleydale creamery to visit, all within walking distance.
Highly recommend site.
