Great stay..we will be back....

We stayed over over Easter and a few days either side.  Although very windy and a bit nippy we never let that deter us! One of our favourite sites for cycling!  Wardens, as always, very friendly and helpful especially when the tumble drier cut out! All sorted very promptly thank you.  The toilet block was warm and the showers hot and roomy, unlike some we have been to in the past.  Also you can't beat the fish and chip van that is onsite on Friday evenings, especially when you are cold and wet after an 18 mile bike ride! We'll be back!

Great relaxing few days

We stayed at the Grafham Water Site from the 2nd to the 6th of April 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The site was very clean and tidy as we found on our previous visit, and the Wardens were always very helpful and friendly.  We always look forward to our walk around the water and to enjoy a pint in the Wheatsheaf Pub in Perry!  The Long eared owl who I think is called Ollie was in her favourite tree perch just over the pond footbridge and could be heard hooting regularly.  We had a curry from the local Indian in the village and it was Hot!!  We will certainly come again.

Stayed for 8 nights

Arrived back home from this site on Good Friday after spending 8 nights there. The Wardens are very helpful as when we arrived our water was not working, problem turned out to be the filter. The Warden gave details of a local man who maintains caravans who was able to fix the problem in a couple of minutes. Site is local to Grafham Water with paths that lead to the visitor centre, it is also only 5 miles away from Huntingdon and not much further to St Ives and St Neots all places well worth visiting. We enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in visiting the site again if over that way. The Indian Restaurant in the village is well worth visiting.

First Stay

The site is conveniently situated for Grafham Water with easy access from main roads. The pitches were a good size and well spaced. The facilities were immaculately kept. The staff were very courteous friendly and helpful. The site has a resident Horned Owl which was in evidence much of the time. We had no children with us but I have marked five stars for children's facilities as they appeared to be adequate for a country site. We had an enjoyable stay and will return.

First Caravan Club stay

We stayed for the first time after joining the Caravan Club. What a stunning site. Wardens were truly awesome as was the size of pitch and facilities. It is a bit exposed so caught the wind a bit that was ok. It's what you pay for such lovely views. The only issue we had was nothing to do with the site, but a family that allowed their 3 very young children to ride around the site. The littlest about 3 rode on this tiny trike on the site road and we nearly run her down as she could barely be seen. I think we should all be aware that some people seem to think that sites are their own personal space and watch out for little children.

Countryside Location

Set on the outskirts of a small village, with plenty routes to head off out walking or cycling. Nearby Grafham Water has additional cycling routes and activities such as water sports, fishing etc to offer. The site was extremely clean, tidy and well organised. Pitches are spacious and not too close together. Watching the birds, ducks and squirrels from such a peaceful location was lovely. The site has lovely childrens play area and a swimming pool (open summer time only), so would make a suitable place for families with children. For this reason, being a mature couple, we would probably avoid school holidays, so that we can make the most of the peace and quiet also available. The one downside is apart from the Community Shop and an Indian Restaurant there is no other resources in the village and the nearest pub for a lunch or dinner is probably too far to walk for most. We did drive to Hemmingford Grey for lunch at The Cock and had the most amazing lunch which we highly recommend trying. The local Indian Restaurant provided us with a very nice take away so would use this again too. This site will probably become one of our "local" weekend places to disappear to outside of the high season.

Owl attraction

A lovely small site set in pleasent country side. Ideal for cycling, with a off road circuit round Graffham water. The resident great horned owl is a additional  attraction.  Motorhomers wanting to empty/fill before leaving, unfortunately have to put up with the CC inability  to site a MSP in an area were you don't bring the site to a stand still, you have to be clear of the service point BY 11.30 as it is directly in the entrance. As usual you also have to be a nimble weight lifter to remove the waste cover. When will the CC make the motorhome service areas of their sites usable and not a total health and safety nightmare. Only 3 stars for facilities reflects this and not the cleanliness which was immaculate.

Super Site with Great Wardens!

We have stopped at this site many times. It is in a lovely location, particularly if you like outdoor activities.  The wardens and relief wardens are always very helpful and pleasant. A well maintained site.

last minute weekend break

Lovely peaceful site, lovely countryside and facilities spotless. Close to Grafham water which was great as we hired 2 bikes and cycled the 10 mile circular route. Nice cafe there too. Wardens were very friendly and helpful. This site is lovely for us as its not too far from home, and ideal for a weekend getaway. Not sure if there would be enough for kids to do, but we'll come again.
