Great site for dogs& families

We only stayed from Friday to sunday & it was not long enough. Fantastic walks for dogs with Graham water just 15 min walk away a beautiful place. Lots to. Do around & only 1hour from us. We will be back to see more defiantly. Very helpful staff & no disruption due to reception works. Very clean & well kept given we went on the last week of their season. Thank you.some service pitches need a long water hose to reach. Colin & Barbara

Nice site - shame about the members!

We had a great stay and have to say the wardens and the facilities were great. However, our stay was spoiled by other members who seem to think it is quite acceptable to take short cuts over other people's pitches - within a few inches of our van. This happened on numerous occasions, not just the same members either. My advice would be, avoid the pitches in the middle of the site.

A secluded site in a good central position for exploring the surrounding countryside.  The amenities were exceptionally clean and the wardens friendly and helpful.  Enjoyed listening to the owl in residence and the fish and chip van which visited on Fridays.

Great weekend.

We have just spent along weekend at the Grafton site, our third stay there. Found it very clean, very quiet and the wardens very helpful and cheerful. Can't fault the site..

Peaceful week-end

We enjoyed a lovely week-end at an immaculately maintained site. The wardens were friendly and helpful and the facilities top class. Graffham Water is easily accessible from the site and is a lovely place to walk. We have bee here before and keep coming back. Highly recommended.

Quiet Site

Stayed 2 nights 9/10 Oct, Small, quiet, unspoilt site, great for visiting Grafham Water. Slightly difficult entrance when busy (12.00 arrival time particularly). Immaculate facilities and welcoming wardens, very accommodating when we wanted to leave a little late. Would visit again.

Dreadful experience, left in tears

There were seven of us, two adults, five children and two dogs travelling to Grafham Water. Due to our large family we need to take two cars. We arrived at the site at 11.55 and were 'greeted' by a very abrupt man who informed us that check-in time was 12.00 he then walked off! We had two small children in need of the toilet who were now very distressed. After five very long minutes we were allowed to book in, told how to park set out our caravan/awning/car and off we went. The pitch was ok but really not suitable for an awning as none of our pegs would go in the ground. We purchased some different ones from reception but they were not much better. The pitch was plenty big enough to put our two cars on but apparantly this is a cardinal sin and you are only allowed to park one car there. The alternative is to park away from the site down an unlit lane, this was not an option in my opinion. The check out time is stated as 12 but does say that if you want to stay longer you can providing they are not fully booked. As 12 is an awkward time with young children/baby who usually feed around then, my husband asked at 9.30 if it would be ok if we stayed until 2pm, and was told this was fine. We finished our lunch around 12.15 and I was sitting in the awning with four of the children finishing my cup of tea. My husband was out on the grass playing badmington with the outher child. Suddenly the elderly warden can marching up to me, and VERY loudly said 'Mrs Garvey, you are not even making an attempt to go, the check out time is 12 and if you asked for an extention you still have to go by 1. You are sitting there as if you have all the time in the world and you should be going now' Some what taken by supprise by this outburst I told him that he had agreed withmy husband that we could stay until 2, and as it only takes us about an hour to pack away I was just finishing my drink before I started. He then started pointing and repeating that I should be making the effort to go, he also said I should not have two cars on the pitch. I was left visibly shaken by all this and two other caravan owners can over to see if I was ok, as they had heard this rude man practically shouting at me. I called my husband ovwer who talked to him but he wasnt interested in talking. My husband then went over to the office to complain but the lady there just shrugged her shoulders. We certainly would not recommend this site and wot be returning...

Great for getting out and about

First time at Grafham water, a lovely site, helpful and accommodating wardens. A great site for walking the dog  or cycling with Grafham water a short distance away. Bike hire also available at Rutland cycles.
