Excellent Clean Site

We stayed at Gowerton site for six nights and found it clean and a very pleasant place with excellent facilities and as we had two dogs the dog walk on site also very good. The pitch we had was level and hard standing but if you like grass level site these were also available, there was plenty of choice available as we arrived on a Thursday. The walk into Gowerton itself through the back gate was level and there is some history in the area which is very interesting. The area around Rhossili is worth a visit and walk around the coast is good, also the area around Oxwich point can prove challenging just make sure you come down the steps in the wood to the beach as the signage is not too good. All in all this excellent site provides a base to explore the beautiful Gower Peninsula.

Honest Review from a Family of 5

We stayed at Gowerton during the May half term / Jubilee week. 2 adults & 3 children, aged 5,7 & 9 years. Train Noise - We stayed on pitch 18 near the children's play park. The train line runs behind the trees on that side of the site. I heard the train every 15 minutes or so. It seemed a fairly busy line, but after a few seconds the noise is over. I imagine the train noise would be minimal on the other side of the site. The site was busy, but it was Jubilee half term. Lots of activity, but pitch was between the park & the dog walk. Location - Close to town and all major shops. The Gower has many lovely beaches. Toilet Block - Very clean & a good size. No waiting & site was full. However, the block is closed for cleaning 10:15-12.00. This is a long time & we found it quite inconvenient. Bins - The recycling & waste bins are located at the front of the site. These are large industrial bins. There are no other bins on site. The service points have water etc, but just a sign saying take rubbish to the front. It seems illogical and inconvenient. Most people took their rubbish with them when leaving site in their cars. This then meant 2/3/4 cars all idling outside the exit whilst people jumped out to ditch their rubbish. Although, industrial in size, the site probably needs more. My hubby also put the dirty in with the recycling & ended up fishing it out! Not great. Overall, very pleasant trip with a couple of niggles.

What very helpful wardens

My wife and I were booked in for three nights due to unforeseen circumstances we need to stay another night with the help of the wardens nothing was too much of a problem. The site was meticulously clean and tidy plenty of shops nearby so no need for a shop on site with Sony re-visit this site

Lovely site

We stayed here for 4 days. After I booked the site I read some of the reviews about staff, the railway line and the main road and I considered cancelling. I kept my booking and was so glad I did. The site is lovely and quiet, all of the staff were helpful, polite and friendly. The railway line is a small country line with a train slowly passing through occasionally and none during the night. I honestly didn't notice it. As for the main road, didn't hear it at all and I am a light sleeper. At home, although I live in a quiet area, I cannot sleep with the window open as the weather and nature keep me awake. We like to sleep with the window open in our Camper for ventilation. I slept like a log. Please do not let any negative comments change your mind about this site. It's lovely, we really enjoyed our stay, thank you.

new wardens, wow !

we are regulars to this site, it suits us. I read the recent reviews before we visited this year and I thought that they were a bit over the top, but no, we always thought the site was up to CMC standard but now it is the cleanest site we have been on. The auxillary toilets were never opened when cleaning the main block, but they are now. The only complaint I have with the site is the rubbish bins placed at the entrance , but they said that they would put forward my suggestions, however, this seems to be the way that the CMC are going now. As to the site, it's flat , it can flood but it drains quickly, there is a local railway that passes the site, make sure the CMC road directions are followed. It has a gate to some playing fields which is also a short cut to Tesco. Gowerton is a large village , Gorseinon is the next town for supermarkets. Of course there is the Gower and Swansea and plenty of things to see and do further afield.

Wonderful welcome

We were so happy to receive such a warm friendly and welcome to the site from a warden who really wanted to help us to to enjoy our stay and be near to our our friends. The warden even popped our gate keys over to us as we were eating our lunch. Well above and beyond her job description. The site was immaculate and the short grass was helpful when walking across the lawns covered in dew. The un-mown borders helped to encourage wildlife and the robin was so charming as it sat on our guy lines and sang to us all. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so memorable. I recommend the Contented Sole if you fancy take away fish and chips.

So glad we stayed there!

We chose Gowerton site, initially, for its location - easy to get to and from the road network for south Wales, and also the Gower Peninsula. However, we were delighted with it as a site, simply to spend the day there. It was really lovely, well laid out, very clean, and had an open feel but with different sections. Even though it got busy, towards the weekend, it never felt crowded. Bonuses - lovely little town of Gowerton - Station 86 has the best breakfasts; the Pizza Ria on Thursday (they did a Gluten free Pizza); easy access to Llanelli, the Mumbles, and the Botanic Gardens. The wardens were helpful and friendly, and overall, we would recommend it either as a stay-location, or as a base to explore. The CMC book mentions train noise, but it was very minimal, and not constant; if that worries you, stay on the site away from the line, we could hardly hear it there. It's a great place to stay!

Wonderful wardens

Very warm welcome from Nicky. We had a glorious week of weather marred only by my husband being ill and needing to go to hospital to see a GP. Nicky and Mike could not have been more helpful and supportive. Thank you. We ended up spending a lot of time on site and less time exploring the area than we would have liked. We had a peaceful quiet break in very pleasant surroundings.

Wonderful welcome

Very handy site being within 40 minutes from home.I have been here on many occasions and found it convenient for access to the Gower peninsula and also local shops.and pubs within walking distance. Nicely layer out with both sheltered and sunny spacious pitches. What now makes this site have the X factor are the new wardens. We were greeted with a smile( sadly not always the case) and a informative briefing.During our stay we were helped in a friendly manner as to the location of local cycle paths, which are wonderful. This really made our short stay special. Thanks to Mike and Nicky. Wardens take note, you really can make a difference with a smile
