Just had a week at Gowerton Club Site - a lovely level site, warm spotless bathroom facilities, roomy pitches with lots of space around the site. Our visit was made special, in spite of some very variable weather (perhaps to be expected in March) by how exceptionally well we were looked after by the team on site, in particular Rachel and Mick who went out of their way. Would highly recommend for visiting the Gower peninsular and all the lovely walks and beaches.
A great little site close to Llanelli. As with CAMC sites, the facilities, location and staff made it a pleasure to stay at. Been before, will stay again, thank you!
We stayed a week here in August and chose the site because of its position on Gower, an area that we have enjoyed visiting for over thirty years. The site is very pleasant and divided into a number of areas giving it a more intimate feel. We liked the use of two pegs to mark each pitch as it makes it very easy to position the caravan correctly.
We selected a pitch in what looked like a quiet area but, once we had set up, discovered that our electricity tower sat in the middle of a break in the hedge allowing people to move from one part of the site to another. Fortunately we were able to position our car to block half of the access, across which our cable lay, and encourage people to use the other half of the gap. We did wonder why the tower was so placed.
Having recently stayed at the Pembrey site we weren’t surprised to find that the only waste disposal point was just inside the entrance as we had been told that this is becoming club policy. We understand the idea of saving hundreds of plastic bags a year but wonder if the daily emptying of the bins at the various service points gave the wardens a chance to keep an eye on the whole site. It also gave visitors the opportunity to speak to a warden without making a special journey to reception.
We were very pleased to see that the mobile pizzeria that we had bought pizzas from while at Pembrey also visited this site. Once again the pizzas were delicious and certainly saved on cooking.
From here we visited the Wildlife and Wetlands reserve just outside Llanelli and Rhosilli, where we enjoyed the walk out to the Coastwatch Station.
During our final night the rain didn’t stop all night and in the morning our car was sitting in a puddle and there was a large puddle lapping at the legs of our steps. We were very impressed that the wardens came round to every caravan enquiring if people were all right and offering assistance to get us off the pitch if our wheels started spinning.
Many thanks.
Well maintained and clean site with very friendly wardens.
Plenty of hot water.
Could see on the day of arrival, that a warden was out weeding the pitch opposite our pitch. Always a good sign that the site is well looked after.
Easy drive away from Swansea.
Thank you for our 2 night stay.
First time at this site and I must say it’s was excellent. The best site we have stayed on so far. All the wardens were so friendly and helpful. On arrival we didn’t have a clue which pitch to pick as never stayed before so we chose the wardens recommendation and it was absolutely perfect in every way. Evening sun was beautiful (when we had it !) it was close enough to the toilet and shower block but not too close. Would definitely go back if I was holidaying in Wales again and I would definitely recommend this site to others.
We stayed here from 13.07.23 to 17.07.23 very lovely site, clean and well maintained. Was able to choose own pitch. facilities great and staff were helpful. very nicely located just off the main roads and easy access to Gowerton village through the playing fields behind the site. lots of options for buses and a few shops and takeaways if you wish to explore. lots of bigger shops a short drive away and a handy Tesco Express at the petrol station which is a short walk away.
We didn't have children with us but based on what we would want for them we felt it would be a good place to stay
Debbie and Nick couldn't have done mote for me when I visited last week. The pitch was clean and well kept, always members of the team around to help and guide whenever I needed. Only 2 nights but was lovely to be somewhere different. Will definitely book again.
We live less than 20 miles from Gowerton, so it's a first call for us if we just want an easy to reach site, or a shake-down at the beginning of the season. If it's going to break then I'd rather do it 20 miles from home than 200. This was not only our first trip of the year, it was our first since the pre-pandemic days. The site is in our opinion, wonderful. It is immaculately clean, located on the edge of the beautiful Gower peninsular, and very handy for Swansea, Llanelli, Carmarthen and glorious Pembrokeshire. Lots else is easily accessible for a half day or day trip. The staff seem to work tirelessly to keep the site to a standard that has always been high since the first time I ever used this site. On this occasion, when unhitching on arrival, I carelessly managed to snag and break my breakaway cable. I consulted the staff as I am a technical idiot, and they told me where to get a cable, and what my options were for getting it fitted. He also explained to me how to fit it myself, and I resolved to do it the following day. However, early evening, someone turned up who told me that the staff had mentioned a damaged breakaway cable. He had it fixed in less than 10 minutes. If I could make an award for going "above and beyond", I would pin it personally upon the staff of Gowerton Club Site. Thank you so much for a beautiful, clean, well organised site, and for getting me out of the hole that I had dug for myself!
We have been to this site several times whilst walking the Gower Coast Path. It has to be one of favourite destinations with spotless facilities and extremely welcoming wardens and staff. Their professional and friendly approach is second to none.
Thank you all for making our visits so pleasant. Our cat loves it too!
