Stopped at Forfar in a hired campervan at the beginning and end of a tour of Scotland. Convenient location for our needs. I have to say that the toilet/shower facilities here are the best thought out and cleanest we have ever experienced on any site, club or otherwise. Could not fault them in any way. Staff were excellent and very friendly even though we arrived late on our first night there. The site is in the town itself so very convenient for shops etc. but not the most picturesque setting although, of course, it is set beside Forfar Loch but only a few pitches have a direct view over this.
We would definitely stay here again.
ANOTHER FANTASTIC STAY
Stayed on 4th - 7th March, another great stay at this fantastic site. The site had just opened for the season and it was business as usual. Very friendly staff (as always), facilities spotlessly clean( as always) and the Park looked great!
We love this site because of its staff.,cleanliness , friendliness and a stroll into town. You can have a Chinese delivered to your pitch or walk down to the Pend Chip Shop fantastic! You also have many supermarkets within walking distance.
Keep up the good work!
Worth a visit
Site is well kept, toilets clean, best disabled facilities that CAMC have.
Big issue is lack of sign to show where site is.
not a great stay
we had booked a hard standing we booked in and was given a number of the pitch we could not find it because it was grass there was another pitch but that was for seasonal and they had not taken it up we took the grass one and it rained quite hard that night we did put a mat down out side and it got water logged the next morning the van in front of us moved so we moved over there was mud coming up all around the mat and the grass was terrible that was the third time we have been to this site and the other two times were not much better we will not be going again

Love it, Love it!
This is one of our favourite sites and we visit often. Wardens are so so nice, place is spotlessly clean as always and park very neat and tidy.
Nice walk in town, nice walk round Loch with our dog,Aldi,Lidl,Asda and Tesco all within easy walking distance. We always have a chippy from The Pend chip shop( they don’t deliver) but not a far walk from site and of course not forgetting the 123 Chinese also very good and they deliver to site….
Keep up the good work wardens…see you both next year!
Great site
In response to the person who wrote the review titled “Hell”. What an awful review on so many levels.
We were in pitch 31 from 10th -13th October. The family in pitch 30 were not any inconvenience to us whatsoever and appeared lovely. The little boy did kick his football once in the direction of our van and was really apologetic. I guess it depends on how the subject is approached.
Your comment around “what is invading the sites since this COVID is disgusting” is in itself a wholly terrible thing to say and you are clearly referring to people who can not defend themselves as you hide behind your review.
This is a wonderful site and the management were very helpful. I am sure you could have spoken to them face to face to air your issues. However, clearly chose not to. Maybe it’s time for you to hang up your Caravanning boots and find a hotel.

Great site - once you've found it
Great site but not well sign posted. Drove past it and had to ask directions. Needs a CAMC sign on the main road. Once in it is lovely. Clean, well maintained and generous pitches. Facilities are spotless. Some parts of the site are in shade mostly so be aware. Location is good, Right next to Forfar Loch with a 2.5 mile walk all the way around. 400m from a new Aldi and just a short walk into town.
Super effixcient welcoming site
As a novice at this type of holiday I have been uncertain. The warm welcome received at this site was perfect. I received lots of tips on proceedure and how to settle into my site and obey camping rules. As a keen walker I was delighted to be given advice (with hand drawn maps) on where to go and route to take.
The sites were well spaced out and there was always an element of privacy. But peoole were freindly and helpful at alltimes, and I mean staff and other holidaymakers.
i loved this site and will definitely be back.
Lovely site
Lovely site with ample facilities and pitches to choose from, site itself is quiet, however it does back on to a park, sport pitch and loch and associated pathways which can at times be noisy when general public walk by or play. However, this is not constant and the sites itself is lovely and calm with very little noise.
Lovely walk round the loch straight from the site and easy access to walk into Forfar and supermarkets.
Staff are very helpful and work very hard to keep the site clean and tidy whilst also being approachable to answer any queries or have a chat.
Would definitely stay again as in a great location for exploring a big section of Scotland from the coast to cities, lochs to highlands.
Pleasant, satisfactory site but not outstanding
First time we have been to the Forfar site, staying 3 nights.
Our arrival was problematic because we missed the small caravan sign on the main road. It was not the usual Caravan Club Site sign. Why not? Something that East Grinstead should look into in conjunction with Angus Council??
We expected to queue with a 1.00am opening time and of course because of Covid procedures. We do prefer a noon arrival to maximise the afternoon. However the Warden was extremely efficient and helpful and we entered the site to find it busy, no surprise in peak school holiday season.
We thought ourselves fortunate to find a pitch with early August sunshine from 8.00am until 7.00pm, unusual on a site surrounded by high trees.
Beyond that there were noise issues from the local football field but fortunately only for one long evening. Diagonally opposite a busy children's play area would be a highlight for parents with young children.
The site was well maintained with the large grass areas being kept mown and neat. The toilet block was clean and spacious with service points always spotless. The hard standing pitches were generous and level with a few pitches being grassy. Tents occupy a large central area near the toilet block.
Being next to Forfar Loch had obvious advantages for exercise whether walking or cycling. The circular was approx 3 miles. The town was within easy walking distance, Forfar itself is central to many places that have their own attractions, some which we sampled - Pitmuies Garden, cycleways on the Arbroath - Broughty Ferry coastline and the sandy beach at Lunan Bay. Threatening showers kept us away from the easily reached, appealing glens and hills.
All in all a busy site which is kept in good order by Kris and Phil, the welcoming Wardens.
