Weekend Break Sept 2015

Very friendly welcome on arrival and mentioned activity packs which our boys could do available from the gate office, while we were getting the awning up!  Very reassuring wardens given that we are new to caravanning and were ready to advise / help with any queries during our stay. All facilities were clean and tidy and other guests also friendly. Ring road was a bit noisey at night but park was fantastic with great facilities and things to do from train rides to a boat trip. We will be returning!

Loved this site

absolutely loved our stay here. Well maintained. Spotless toilet block. Had difficulty finding it as road signs were hidden behind trees and shrubs on dual carriageways/motorways, but will definately be staying here again.

forgot what a great site this is !

We had not visited this site for a good 10 years , Now we travel alone just us and the dog as the kids have fled the nest . We wanted somewhere with good walks for the dog and Ferry Meadows gives just that . It took us 1hour to walk the Nene railway walk into Peterbough (there is a steam train with discount prices if you are on the site) In the other direction a fantastic wildlife country park with a cafe looking over the lake. The site and facilities were 100% and the staff really helpful . there are 4 pubs within walking distance all selling food, and a fish and chip van Friday and Saturday nights on site (didnt try them but smelt great) yes i have to admit we had forgot how great this site was and it will not be 10 years between visits next time ....

3rd visit this year

Yet another lovely break at Ferry Meadows - or fairy meadows as some younger people in our family know it! We walk and walk and this is ideal . We have a wheelchair to push and the paths are flat, good, and have plenty of width. Many sites which advertise good for walking are not suitable for pushing a wheelchair. The facilities on the camp site are extremely good, as are facilities within the park. If we just fancy a short break not too far from home this is where we like to go. Unfortunately lots and lots of other campers think the same way as we are finding it difficult to book at short notice!

The best yet

Our first time to Ferry Meadows. Quickly became our favourite site. Miles of beautiful walks or bike riding. Facilities excellent, and staff always helpful. Will be back again and again.

Grandsons favourite

Just had a great "Boys Weekend" at Ferry Meadows with my son in law and two grandsons. Its my youngest grandsons favourite site. We took advantage of the 50% discount given by the Nene Valley Railway, on producing the site receipt. Spent a pleasant hour riding on a steam train and going all along the line and back to Peterborough, where we stopped off to do a bit of site seeing, arrived back at F Meadows in time to set up the BBQ(as most others were doing) and enjoy barbie beer and rugby world cup. Brilliant time had by all.

Very good location, clean toilets, and excellent timings on cleaning facilities. More hard standing areas I feel and less grass ones please

Second 2015 visit......

Another good weekend at Ferry Meadows campsite, Nene Valley walks and a drop of Stella at the local pub. As before, ease of access for the largest of units, typical warm CC welcome and the usual standard of cleanliness. Good for two or four legged walkers, cyclists and steam train enthusiasts. Pitch 90 (west side) was our home for the weekend - great for morning sun only, but water types and eslan a short walk. Only negative is the MWP, drainage cover on the near side and you block the entrance to that particular area of the site if you use it - needs a rethink. However, we are booked in for boxing day as part of our Christmas tour, so yes we highly recommend FM.
