Second visit to this wonderful site

This caravan site was the second caravan club site we visited after becoming Club Members. We enjoyed it so much we decided to visit again 2 months later! The site is spacious and extremely well run with excellent friendly staff. Although there are over 200 pitches it never seems cramped as it is set over two separate areas each of which is split into different sections. One side is more formal and tree lined, the other side (on the opposite side of the road) has more informal pitches and is more open although still lined with trees. Both sides are superbly looked after and have excellent facilities. It is possible to cycle or walk from the site into Peterborough without going by road which is a plus. The site itself is set within a beautiful country park which is what makes it such an attraction. The park has beautiful lakes, cycle rides, play facilities for children, boating facilities, a cafe and separate bar overlooking the lake. The wildlife is abundant. This site is ideal for families, or like us, an older couple!

Best site ever

Site number 9 of our trip. To be honest we were not looking forward to this one much, well what a lovely surprise, its fabulous. The wardens were great, how lovely to see and hear the steam train, and to ride on it was great, very nostalgic. This is such a lovely site, we have never come across such clean facilities ever. What a pleasure to find everything so well looked after well done wardens.Although we live in Scotland we have already worked out how best to make this a regular visit, the park is stunning and the ice cream van that comes around the site in the evening is great, what lovely creamy ice cream, cant wait to come back

wonderful place

A lovely peaceful & clean site, wonderful staff and great facilities, set in a magnificent 500+acre parkland with a restaurant at the boating lake, 3 children's play areas, café, visitors centre, barbecue areas, Minature railway, plenty of walk and biking routes, lots of bird and wildlife to see, or just sit on a bench and enjoy the views wherever you are in the park, a place not to be missed, and can't wait till the next visit. Perfect

Fantastic

This was our 4th visit, we love it. Ferry Meadows puts other camp sites to shame. We had a very bad experience recently with a camp that could have learnt a lot from FM. I can not name the site but its close to the A12 near Saxmundham. Stay clear you've been warned. This visit was very busy but still lovely clean, great staff. Well done. we will be back. There is only one thing that we would like to see: a bar and or a take away/café.

Great site!

This was our second visit to this site as it is local and I can stay there in the school holidays when my husband is working. It was full for some of our stay so was extremely busy! It has the usual high standard CC facilities and is very handy with the country park next to it. Loads to do with the children, who had an excellent stay. The chaps at the cycle hire shop even fixed my daughters bike, saving me a trip into town!

As I have young children I thought it would be useful to be pitched near the play park - what a mistake!! Most nights there was a group of older children in or around the park until after 10pm. I could possibly cope with the shouting but the swearing and language was awful. Thankfully my children slept through it! The wardens said unless I could tell them which pitch the children were from, there was nothing they could do as they finish at 8pm. I will think twice about where I pitch if I go again!

A near perfect site

As a regular visitor to Ferry Meadows we were disappointed by our visit this August by the lack of visitors. OK perhaps Peterborough is not a holiday site but perhaps also the CC prices are just putting people off. Ferry Meadows is fantastic, were even having our ashes scattered in the lovely park, but where are the wardens, eight of them but hardly seen and when they are, hardly friendly, unlike Incleboro Fields where the wardens wave, integrate and even talk. Ferry Meadows has a long way to come even if the current batch of wardens are better than most on this site for some years. The wardens need to get off those tractors and walk/talk given a limited 30% occupancy rate and no grass to cut so what else are they doing. Get them intergrating with their customers.

Fantastic

We returned here because it is local and easy - I work in Peterborough. Was able to bring the caravan, and drop wife, boys, dog and guinea pigs off for a week and a half whilst I commuted to work and back for a couple of days. We had a brilliant time and would not hesitate to come back again and again. The boys loved the local play areas and being able to ride their bikes in relative safety up and down the cycle paths that abound. The site and facilities were spotless, and the staff were always very friendly and helpful. Franks ice creams in the evening kept two little ones very happy!! Looking forward to our next visit!!
