Loved this site

We stayed here for 7 nights and really loved it.  Facilities great and the wardens are really friendly and go out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. Some of the pitches can be rather shady as under trees but others are out in the open.  We asked if there was a sunny pitch available when we arrived and we were directed to one  which was perfect for us. Plenty of local walks as well as others at the Country park a couple of miles away, with Rye, Hastings and Battle also close by. Great to be able to walk to the Two Sawyers Pub for a bite to eat on the evening of our last night there.  There is a butcher in the village who also sells rolls, eggs, papers etc. Up there as one of my favourite sites.

Relaxation

Having just spent a week at Fairlight , we returned home feeling relaxed and ready to face day to day chores again. The site itself is secluded and close to nature surrounded by woodland, many good forest walks available for dogs.Staff very friendly and helpful, could not wish for a better site for a rest .will be returning,The sight is well situated for family trips to the seaside but onsite not a lot for children to do , except explore,

Woodland Delight

This is a very secluded woodland site which makes it very peaceful. Some pitches are shaded so it is worth veiwing all available pitches before setting up.Facilities are up to normal CC standards and wardens excellent.Bring walking boots for woodland trails opposite site entrance, and excellent country pub the other direction through woods (follow the white hoops painted on trees!)Pett village is worth a stroll around and Pett levels uncomercialised. There is of course all seaside attractions in Hastings

Quiet Isolation

I like peace and quiet but this lovely site was a step too far for me. Tucked well into the forest the site is peaceful and shady. I'm dependent on a sat dish for TV and not surprisingly could not get a signal. There is a limited bus service in the local village. Lovely walk to the village pub which served very good food. If like me you are a motorhome user without a car you might find this site a bit isolated.

A great site - highly recommended

We stayed at this site for 6 nights, I wish it could have been longer.  The site is quite small which was lovely, much nicer than staying in the larger sites. It was completely full during our stay which didn't surprise me as it was a lovely place. The site is in between some woods, only a few pitches got sun all day, our pitch was in the shade for the majority of the day (Pitch 30) but that didn't bother us. We were right on the edge of the wood which the dog loved. Our pitch was flat but some others weren't and levellers were needed.  The facilities were kept clean and well maintained. The wardens were really nice and friendly and took pride in their site (Thank you!) There are plenty places to visit in the area, too many for our short stay so we will be back. Take a 5 minute walk through the wood and you come to the village of Pett where there is a lovely pub, The Two Sawyers. It serves real ale and food. Worth a visit. There isn't much to do for kids unless they can easily occupy themselves. Definitely one of the nicer sites we have stayed on, and one we will be returning to.

Relaxing weekend

We have just come back from a weekend stay here. It was easy to find, great location surrounded by trees and set in a forest. Staff were friendly and helpful and the site was lovely and clean. Showers and washrooms were great very clean and well maintained. Hookups included TV connection and in good working order.          Walks into the forest were good, and during our stay we saw squirrels, rabbits, fox and a woodpecker to name a few. Pathways clearly marked in and out of the woods.            We loved it here and will definitely be coming back in the future

Simply the best

I have been a member of the Caravan Club for many years. The Wardens at this site were the nicest I have en counted in that time, they were very welcoming and polite.  The site was beautiful and in a great location, with woods all round it. This is great for exercising dogs and an enjoyable walk. The sea front at Hastings is only a 10 minute drive, with Rye, Newhaven, Bexhill, Eastbourne and Brighton all worth a visit. This is defiantly a site worth visiting

A Very Relaxing Site

Stayed 04/06/15 to 14/06/15. A very quiet and peaceful site with excellent Wardens. Saw previous review about local pub [The 2 Sawyers ] only being a 10 minute walk through the woods. Always a bit wary about such descriptions, but timed our stroll and it was exactly 10 minutes. Local Butcher very pleasant and will reserve a daily paper for you. Seeing this is a members only site we were somewhat upset that two outfits within our immediate vicinity totally ignored the clubs pitching requirements. [Offside rear to peg position] There is no excuse for this as in addition to the handbook it is printed on the site layout you are given when arriving on site. This ruling is for fire separation requirements, as well as to provide a measure of privacy to neighbours. Please also note that the 12.00 Noon arrival and departure times should be strictly adhered to, the final approach is very tight, and two outfits meeting halfway would give massive problems. Hastings parking can be a bit of a problem, but turn left at the bottom of the hill in the old town, along the old black net sheds, and spaces always seemed to be available. Will certainly stay on this site again in the future.

Newbies!

Our first Caravan Club site in a rented VW camper at the beginning of half term. We have only camped in fields before but this was very quiet despite being full. Shower blocks fabulous - warm and clean. Lovely position with great wooded dog walks just opposite.

Half term 2015

Excellent quiet and tranquil site, great for dog walker straight off the site into wooded areas.  Good access to Pett and Winchelsea beaches.  Now the CC have been allowed to erect a small discreet sign from Pett village the access is so much clearer.
