5* all the way, one of the best!

Return visit but not for some while! Just as lovely as ever, and we will definitely be back (again and again). Small site (66 pitches - all hardstanding) but beautifully formed. 2 lots of toilet/shower facilities, always spotlessly clean and never had to queue. Water, bins, recycling, etc., close to whatever pitch you were on. 1pm check in time, warm and friendly welcome. Not cheap to stay here but tell me where is these days? Even over a very busy (almost full) bank holiday weekend the site was quiet....just how we like it! Short wander to the lovely little town with all you could possibly need.....pubs, cafe's, butchers, co-op, post office, etc., etc. Lots of walks directly from the site too. After having a full English in the Copper Kettle Tearoom in town (highly recommended) we walked up through Burridge Woods to Marsh Bridge, where there's another tearoom (part of a B&B), serving delicious cream teas (highly recommended again!). Next day we found another walk, high up in the woods and back down into Dulverton. Weather was exceptional for a bank holiday!!! This is one of our very favourite CAMC sites. The wardens obviously work really hard to keep everything clean and tidy. They are very friendly and a credit to the club.

Excellent Site

Really great site for visiting Exmoor. Centrally situated for easy access to Exmoor and the coast. Spotless facilities, lovely and warm shower blocks with plenty of hot water. Small site so always peaceful and friendly.

7 nights at Exmoor House

We and our friends stayed at Exmoor House for 7 nights from 8th to 15th November. We had 2 caravans and we each have a dog. What an excellent site, stand in wardens, Gerry and Martyn, were very helpful and always had dog treats ready! Facilities were great, lovely showers and always very clean toilets. The site is well maintained. The area is great, lovely walks along the river. Walk into Dulverton with some good shops and places to eat. Our favourite for lunch was Tantivy, great to browse the shop also and buy some Christmas gifts. We also ate in the Bridge pub a couple of times. Quite a few road closures around so we did wander around diversions a few times but great scenery to make up for it. Will definitely return. A great campsite, well run by friendly wardens and close to a great Exmoor town.

Stayed at Exmoor House for 2 nights in early November. Arrived at 13-15 to a friendly reception and having paid in advance it was a very quick check in. The site is very quiet and the facilities are very clean. We chose a hard standing with awning, but parking between the posts left barely enough room for the car. Other than that, all was great. Visited The Bridge Inn on Friday which was very good as always and Woods on Saturday which was also excellent albeit more pricey than The Bridge Inn. Good walks from the site up and down the river. Approach road from Exbridge is a little narrow in places and not in the best condition, but the alternative through Dulverton itself should be avoided as it is very narrow from the main road.

Cracking long weekend in Autumn

Stayed here Friday to Saturday, it’s an immaculately presented site, the facilities are always clean and warm. The pitches are also dead flat so no hassle levelling our van. The site is really peaceful with nice views. Literally 2 mins walk from the loverly town of Dulverton and it’s amenities and attractions and right on the edge of Exmoor which is the attraction for us and our 3 dogs. And above all it’s run by some really loverly and helpful people. 11/10 🤩🤩🤩🤩 *Note I’m sure others have mentioned it but turn right out of the campsite not left through the town as it’s narrow and tight, going right is easy going*

Lovely site run by excellent wardens

We have stayed at this site several times as it is so convenient to be able to walk into the village centre. There are some great places to eat and drink plus good walks on your doorstep. The wardens are excellent - very helpful, professional and friendly. They did have to deal with two people letting their dogs run free and it is good to know that wardens enforce the rules so that everyone has an enjoyable time (it also must be infuriating for the vast majority of dog owners to have their own animals tethered and have to see that).

Lovely little site

Really nice site, facilities great and very clean. The staff were really friendly and it’s only a short walk into the lovely town centre. Quiet location with the sound of the stream in the background. One tip though is not the head out of the site and drive through the town, we followed the sat nav and it’s very narrow, definitely go out the other way, turning right by the pub and pick a route that side .

A lovely peaceful location

We stayed for 9 days towards the end of the prolonged drought conditions but everywhere was still so green and tranquil with the river in the background and various birds and deer calling. Staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival (and all through the stay) and all facilities were in general kept lovely and clean and tidy, just some users who didn’t care about others left toilets dirty or shower cubicles awash on the floor, but that’s not unusual I’m afraid. The only real issue we encountered was even using hard ground pegs and a heavy mallet the ground was like concrete (literally thought I’d picked a pitch with concrete sub base) so bear it in mind if ever you go in drought conditions take drill in pegs and a hammer drill! The granite chippings are pretty sharp and we’re penetrating the “carpet” in the awning so be careful with inflatable awnings and any dogs with soft pads. Overall a great base to explore by bike, on foot or by car all the area has to offer. If you go in the river check for leeches as I did pull one off the dogs face one evening!!! If you go at dusk over the river and up through middle path if you’re quiet you may get to see the wild deer as I was fortunate to get to. Final words of advice is the Petrol/diesel station up the High Street shuts at 1pm on a Saturday and other filling options are few and far between (Tiverton has most options and a Halfords etc). Some greenery and trees on the road in from Tiverton are low and a risk to caravan roofs etc but they have been cutting some back but there’s a way to go so beware. If it wasn’t for having to negotiate the M5 and M42 I’d be back at this site with great regularity.

So so peaceful

Such a lovely site. Small but plenty of room for everyone. No outside noise so very peaceful. We were able to thoroughly unwind. The staff were happy and helpful, with lots of information.

Great site, great wardens

We have stayed at Exmoor House many times and it is our favourite. Small, clean, quiet and helpful wardens plus pubs, cream teas and shops in easy walking distance - what more do you need. There are also lovely walks straight from the site. Can't beat it!!!!
