lovely little site - clean and charming

A warm welcome by lovely staff, I had called ahead due to complications at another site earlier this summer. On our arrival, not only were we greeted with a map/layout of the site, but pre-marked pitches for us to check out. We picked a serviced pitch when booking online, and it was more than adequate, aside from the rain! The site was clean, well maintained and good facilities. During our stay it was busy, but peaceful and the sound of the River Barle is very soothing. Longer units be advised, the village is fairly narrow in some parts of the road down to the river/bridge. Fairly small area to walk the dogs, so each morning we took a trip round the village which has a beautiful church. A short walk into the village, there is a pub (with a decent pint!) and good food, a cracking fish & chips takeout, a Co-op, pet shop, butchers and fresh fruit & veg and some delightful charity shops.

HOLIDAY THAT NEVER NEARLY HAPPENED

After trying to book this site on-line for 3 consecutive days. One minute no availability the next availability but cant take the money, We decided to leave a message on the sites answer phone. They were prompt to ring us back. We explained the problem we had, and they re-assured us there is room and to just come down. The wardens were excellent, hard working non-stop, nothing was too much trouble, the best wardens on a site we have ever had!!! I rarely write a review but felt I had to vice praise of the wardens (I am afraid I cannot praise your booking system).

Another lovely stay

Another lovely stay at this beautiful site. We were blessed with fantastic unseasonal weather which helped! Dulverton has great independent shops, a coop, pubs, two fantastic restaurants, Woods and the Thai and even a cinema. Great walks from the site and over the moors if you have a car. Tarr steps is well worth a visit and the pub there is great. The staff are very friendly and helpful and they keep the site beautifully. Our only moan is the one o’clock entry, as we only live an hour away and would like the option of an earlier time. But we will be back!

Never disappoints

This has been our favourite "go to" site for many years, and we always love it. The site is in a beautiful spot and is immaculately kept by the extremely efficient Site Managers, Keith and Debbie, who are very friendly and helpful. We received a warm, smiling welcome upon arrival, and could always get local advice from them. The Bridge Inn at the end of the site road has reopened under new management and is now much smarter and extremely popular. We had Sunday roast there, but weren't madly impressed, probably because we were the last booking of the day (17.45), and some of the meal seemed as if it had been kept warm since lunchtime. In fairness, the pub did call us in the afternoon to say that they were running low so we should pre-order our meal, which we did but only from a choice of two options. Breakfast at the Copper Kettle is well worth a visit, but best to book at busy times like Saturday morning. Plenty of walking from the site and wonderful places to visit within a few miles drive such as Tarr Steps, Watersmeet, Dunster. As always, I'm sure we will be back and thanks again to Debbie and Keith for such a pleasant stay.

Superb - Favourite CAMC Site

One of our favourite sites, we have been coming here for years and it’s hardly changed (apart from upgraded toilet blocks) which is lovely. The wardens are probably one of the best we have come across on the network, super friendly, very efficient and relaxed and full of knowledge about Dulverton and the area. Toilet blocks are nice and clean and plenty of hot water. The stream running past is lovely to hear at night if you are lucky enough to be able to get a pitch on this side of the site. Dog walking is great, there is a little walk on site but we always find it nicer.to go through the gate and walk by the river. The town being close is really great with a little supermarket and butcher and Woods wine bar has always been superb and dog friendly but you have to book in advance if you want a table and it’s great for gluten free if anybody needs this, also the Bridge Inn has just reopened and also dog friendly and when we went for a beer sat outside on the lovely new benches the Sunday roasts look amazing.

Peaceful haven in a beautiful setting

Had a wonderful stay at this tranquil site in a beautiful setting. The site itself is immaculate with lovely, friendly and helpful wardens, plus serviced pitches if needed. We loved the scenery - surrounded by a wall of tree-covered hills with the River Barle providing a soothing soundscape. We had clear skies most nights and were able to see the Milky Way and even some Space X satellites being launched thanks to the dark skies. A few minutes walking from the site takes you into picturesque Dulverton, with a wonderful selection of independent shops plus a well-stocked Co-op. There are plenty of places to walk from the site - easy walks around the town itself and hill climbs up into the surrounding woodland. Further walking in Exmoor is available a short drive away - Wimbleball Lake is beautiful, with a herd of Exmoor ponies on Haddon Hill and the Tarr Steps are also worth a visit. This is now our favourite site and we will definitely be back!

Tranquil setting

This is a delightful site perfectly located in the sleepy village of Dulverton. It is a stones throw from The Bridge pub and a few yards further on you enter into the heart of the village. The few shops there can supply all your needs whilst staying at the site. The wardens Keith and Debbie are very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with our sun canopy upon arrival and Keith assisted with a temporary repair ( thank you Keith) If you want a relaxing holiday this is a lovely site

Lovely Place to Visit

Been here on 4 different occasions and it’s a lovely, clean well maintained site. Don’t have to drive anywhere if you do not want to. Pubs, chip shop and a mini supermarket just a short walk from site. Very peaceful place with the sound of the river running behind (depending where you’re parked) a place we come often as easy to get to and has everything you need for a nice little break

Nice site but …

We pulled up at the site early to ask if there was anywhere to park nearby as we knew we couldn’t get onto our pitch until 1pm. As I walked into the reception, before I had a chance to say anything, I was spoken to in a very rude manner. The man (who was already speaking to another couple) asked me if I had booked and I said yes. My intention was to ask where he would recommend we park nearby until 1pm, however he didn’t give me the chance and he immediately said in a very rude voice “You’ve got no chance!” It was embarrassing as there were people in the reception that he had been talking to and he had obviously been saying something to them as we pulled up. I felt he was showing off in front of them. I left and my husband and I parked nearby. We also felt that the women was very abrupt with us when we spoke to her the next day. It’s a shame as the site was nice and the village was lovely but we will not be returning. We have never had a bad experience on any other site, normally people are very welcoming.

Exmoor House, Quiet, relaxing, clean and tidy site, everyone was very friendly and helpful

Smallish but very clean and tidy site with a choice of pitches, all level with grass and gravel, spectacular views of wooded area surrounding site, river adjacent, short walk to town of Dulverton, with most facilities, easy reach by bus to other towns and villages and many walks starting and ending in Dulverton
