Shhhhhhh...don't tell too many people!

Wow! We have a new favourite CC site! We stayed at this immaculate and beautifully positioned site for 3 nights and wanted to stay more. The wardens Alan and Dee make you very welcome and are so helpful. And the work they do to keep the site in such good order......I was shown some photos of the site from 3 to 4 years ago by another visitor and the improvements to the site they have made are fantastic. Low cut hedges allow you to see the great views. And the dog walking area...better than my lawn at home. Thanks for a great stay and will be back later this year.

Peaceful & Immaculate

Recently spent 5 nights on this excellent peaceful site. This was our 5th visit and still impressed. Very friendly wardens with useful info & advice. Pitches & services very well maintained. There may be some slight road noise if on a roadside pitch. We weren't! Toilet/shower block excellent. Spotlessly clean with oodles of hot water. Little shop sells necessities inc croissants if ordered the day before. This caravan site is in an excellent location for sightseeing and exploring Somerset & Devon. Close to wonderful walks on Exmoor. Enjoyed two good meals at the local pub which is a short walk away. Love this site and will be back.

Fabulous site

We spent 4 nights on this site at the beginning of July before travelling to another cc site in Devon and what a little gem it's lovely, extremely well kept both grass and hedges were well trimmed, the grass on the dog walk was also trimmed, toilets/showers were spotless you even have radio playing and the hair dryer works. There is a little shop but they don't sell news papers. This site is good for a chill out quiet and peaceful, except for the pitches by the back hedge you get road noise. We didn't go to the nearby pub and sadly the lake was nearly empty

We have just spent 6 nights at this site and will definitely return. The site is immaculately kept with exceptionally friendly staff, the views of the valley a treat for your eyes

Spacious, clean & welcoming

Just spent 5 nights here - our second visit in 2/3 years. Great welcome, spacious pitches and wonderful views over the moors. The wardens give you a 10% discount voucher to use off main meals in the nearby Anchor Inn and we ate there twice - very good. Much prefer to stay at this site rather than the one right in Dulverton, which is ok, but has a "busy" feel to it. Here you really are out in the country and can chill out and relax.

First time visit

Stayed here in July for the time lovely site plenty of space with the pitch. Toilets and showers were spotless. Found the wardens very friendly, good to access Exmoor and the north coast. Getting to and leaving this site is very easy, although the road runs just outside the site it did not bother us even at night. We intend to return here this autumn.

Quiet site

We stayed on this site for 1 weekat the beginning of  July it's lovely well kept grass and hedges also the dog field is kept as good as the rest of the site. The toilet/shower block are immaculate and wardens helpful it has a little shop but does not sell daily papers so it's a drive to the  nearest town and beware the main road runs along the back of the site so a pitch there would be noisy from heavy trucks but overall it's a great site

As good as it gets

A wonderful site, beautiful views, lots of space, stunning dog-walking field and excellent staff. And a great pub a short walk away. I can't think of another site I can rate more highly.  So why only 4 stars for location? With a campervan I prefer to set up and walk to amenities during my stay.  But Dulverton is 3 miles along roads, so not great with a dog.  But the site shop is good.  Stock up with wine and fancy stuff before you arrive, take some good books and it's a real joy.  I've recommended it to friends and look forward to frequent returns.

Lovely Site

Just returned from 7night stay here. Must say absolutely lovely. Peaceful Quiet and lovely clean site. The relief wardens were on duty for this visit lovely couple friendly and most welcoming, thank you. Good base too for exploring north Devon too. Would recommend as we were to stay here. Just one little niggle on entrance to site > earlier signage  would be advantage especially for first time visitors. Somewhat  tight manoeuvre to turn into site. ????

Excellent countryside site

Have been CC member for some 27 years, never visited this site previously so whilst holidaying at Willingcott decided to include this site as part of our holiday itenary. What had we missed through the years. This must be rated as one of the best country area club sites, set in the Exe Valley, site in terraced rows so all pitches get lovely views across the valley. Unfortunately there has been lots of rain around lately so the beautiful views weren't always apparent. Frontal area of the site has three straight tarmac rows set as stated in terraced formation, with large grassed pitches further down. The toilet block, immaculately kept has piped music, and is between the end of the central tarmac road and beginning of those grassed pitched areas. Wardens extremely friendly and welcoming, as normally is the case, a big thank you to them. Dulverton around three miles away, interesting large village with some independent shops, nice gift shop and offie. A co-op to serve essential needs. Please look in the parish church, loved the interior and the fascinating artwork / tapestry of the pews/prayer mat cushions. Further away towards Tiverton is Nat.Trust 'Knightshayes', but watch the route you take, access is off small country lane off main A 396 near Cove. We followed sat nav as we wanted to go via small pretty village of Bampton, and ended up in a narrow dirt track that attempts to enter you through the back of the estate. The gate is padlocked so a slow trek back along the cart track - beware, this is Devon / Somerset boundary and roads can be very tight. Another day, when you've gone past Dulverton you are then on the Exmoor territory, not far away is the Exmoor pony centre, and if you're lucky you may spot some grazing on the wilds of the moors. A lovely area, a lovely site, and a lovely way to combine sites in Devon and this unspoilt area of Somerset. Another site to put on our 27 year list of visits, and one we would definitely recommend, and return to.
