Spent two nights here and absolutely loved it. Lovely, peaceful in fantastic surroundings. Great walks from site. Wardens very welcoming. No toilet or shower facilities but didn't mind as everything else was perfect.
A real little gem so convenient just a few miles away from the M6
We stayed here for two nights recently so that we could break up a long an arduous journey and to see an old friend. The site was lovely nestled in idyllic rurality with a beautiful woodland interspersed with small lakes. The staff were friendly and helpful and I appreciated how lovely and quiet it was at this site. The staff were incredible when on our second night we had really masses of rain and we awoke to a mini flood in front of our van. The staff set to work and within half an hour the water had all gone, channelled elsewhere. Though there was no toilet/shower block the facilities were quite sufficient for us. I look forward to returning ...
Perfect site
The only reason it is less than 5* for facilities is that there is no toilet block. We don't require one, but some might. That is also why it is not so good for families as I imagine that parents would want somewhere to wash down their children occasionally! For us it was perfect in every way.
Dappled glades.
A site to rest the sole. Sunshine in glades surrounded with sycamore, beech and pines. The dog walk is a great fenced area for a chance to run off leads. A jewel of a site.
Not to be Missed
We visited recently on an overnight stop en route to Scotland, but will visit again for a longer stay. The site is very tidy and well maintained and we received a friendly welcome on arrival.
Englethwaite Hall is very peaceful and located in quiet countryside, despite being a fairly short drive from the M6. The pitches are well spaced and the whole site is pleasantly landscaped. The majority of pitches are around the main site area, with a smaller number of pitches in wooded cul-de-sacs. We had a pleasant circular walk through the woods adjacent the site.
This is an ideal location from which to explore the Eden valley and eastern part of Cumbria which is often overlooked due to the popularity of the lakes.
Wonderful Site
Yet another visit to this lovely, peaceful and well kept site. Dog walk and enclosed paddock are brilliant and lots of good walks from the site. The greyhound pub in Cotehill can be walked to and serves lovely food with great service. A wonderful site that we'll keep on visiting.

Dog friendly
We used Englethwaite as a stop over on our way to a dog show in Derbyshire. Site was peaceful and beautifully landscaped. The wooded dog walk ended with an enclosed paddock which was a welcome sight to my energetic dogs. I was able to allow them the freedom to exercise off lead ??. We stayed at 3 sites during our holidays and this was the best dog facility we experienced. Staff were lovely and directed us to a dog friendly pub where we enjoyed a relaxing evening meal. This is a site I would happily revisit. The only down side was the lack of a showerblock but as we only had a one night stay it wasn't an issue for us on this occasion.
Peaceful haven
This is our favourite sight, only a few miles from home. We use it regularly and always find it beautifully maintained. The grounds are kept to a very high standard, beautifully kept grass and flower displays. The wardens are extremely hard working and friendly, they are a credit to the club. The site also has two very loyal friendly and hard working volunteer wardens. Thank you to everyone for making Englthwaite such a lovely welcoming site for members to enjoy.

Great site, fab dog walk
This is a great site, with a good dog walk and exercise paddock. We have all our facilities in our van and use them so we love this type of site. Its in a good location and the area around is very pretty. We had a ride out for me to look and walk across Hadrians wall - parking charges a bit steep but worth it (ticked that off the bucket list). We shall probably use this site again as a stop over on our way up to Scotland or perhaps for a long weekend. Site was tidy, wardens were lovely.

Peaceful & relaxing break
We spent our wedding anniversary here with friends. Peaceful site where we watched red squirrels and had lovely walks with our dogs. Probably not a great site for children as there are no facilities & it is a very quite site. Carlisle town is a vibrant town with lots to do & a visit to the castle is a must. Dinner at the Greyhound Inn at Cotehill was great fun with our young server, Alex, keeping everyone in stitches. Good food & friendly staff. We hadn't been here for a few years and just regret leaving it so long It wont be that long for another visit to Englethwaite.
