Lovely friendly site

Very convenient for visiting Edinburgh and lovely walks for dogs along beach just a short stroll away. Couldn't fault the staff very friendly and helpful. There was slightly traffic noise but nothing considering its location to the city centre.Would definitely recommend

Fantastic Site

This site was our first ever tour around the mainland of Scotland so we didn’t really know what to expect. We’ve been caravanning for over a year now, however that has been around sites on our home island in Shetland. We were at the C&MC in Edinburgh for three nights in April (2017) before heading off up to Stirling. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming – they were a credit to the C&MC. Very informative induction to the site and as non C&MC members, we were made so welcome (will definitely be joining). The site was immaculate as were the showers/toilet block – so much so we just used them instead of the caravan toilet/shower. We were at a fully serviced pitch at the lower road side of the park which was right next to a road used for boy racers with bikes and cars, however I still gave the park 5 stars for peace and quiet as it didn’t bother us. It’s a park on the outskirts of a city for heaven’s sake, what do you want! The quieter pitches were located at the top of the park, but some were near the play parks, so folk would end up complaining about the noise of the kids – so I can imagine you can’t win. We wandered along the path to catch a bus into the city centre – a 10 min walk – that included us missing the shortcut up to the bus stop (our bad). So close to everything you need to see in the city. I recommend taking a walk down to the promenade type road that runs along the coast – head to Muirhouse Mansion and there’s a path that takes you down to the coast road (a car-free area and beautiful area to stretch your legs). We will be back.

Back Again

One of our favourite sites, coming back to Edinburgh to visit family. Wardens as always are extremely helpful and friendly, site is kept very tidy and loo blocks very clean. However the loo blocks are starting to look tired and could do with being upgraded as this must be one of the Clubs top sites. A meal at the Toby Restaurant is a must as it is so near the site. Lots to do in Edinburgh with even more to do further afield. Just take a walk down Marine Drive to the Forth.

Excellent Site

Excellent site for visiting Edinburgh and the surrounding districts. We visited for the ERC Final at Murrayfield The mini bus service into the city is good value for money and we think more city centre caravan sites could offer this sort of service All the staff were very friendly and helpful to us and the site is well maintained

Painful and noisy

Incredibly disappointed by the Edinburgh site due to the rudeness of the staff and the way we have been treated. We have been members for a few years now and have never nearly been turned away from a site for not conforming to the "motorhome standards" (we asked, these were conveniently not available for inspection). We arrived at the Edinburgh site after booking in online for a nights stay in our Land Rover with a roof top tent, we had booked in as a motorhome as we have done on other CC sites on our three week long trip and we were greeted with a rude trainee and the 'manager' of the site telling us how we would not be allowed on site for breaching the rules, the stated issue being that because the tent is accessed via an exterior ladder it could not be allowed onto the site due to it not being a motorhome. No other site has ventured any concerns about this and we have had lengthy conversations about our outfit with several curious wardens who have had no issues with it, the outfit is obviously smaller than a normal motorhome with less demands on the site in terms of water, waste and electricity so we've no idea where the hostility came from as we are effectively paying for more than we require. The staff eventually allowed us to stay for one night because we were members (with the strong implication that we were not welcome again for a second night and we were being done a favour) We will be calling on Monday morning to discuss this and most likely will not be renewing our imminently-expiring membership if this is how members get treated. The important task of rebranding the club and the attempt to change the outward reputation from being unfriendly and stuck up into a more friendly club (in comparison to the camping and caravanning club who have always been far more helpful even to non members in our experience) has obviously failed miserably and not been impressed upon some of the wardens. We have a caravan and Land Rover both of which get used up and down the country on CC sites and while you often get rude or grumpy wardens we have never had any issues like this before, it is deeply disappointing.

First Outing

We chose this site because it was close to home and easy to get to for our first outing in our new to us caravan. This is a lovely site which is kept in tip top order by the wardens who are also very friendly and helpful. Pitches are large with plenty room to manoeuvre (we are newbies). The showers and toilet blocks are warm and welcoming. It is close to Edinburgh but you still need a car unless you use the site bus service which is a wee bonus. Cant fault the site at all really. The only thing that might bother some people is the site is directly under the flight path for Edinburgh Airport great if you love plane spotting.

Really well-maintained site

This was our first visit to the Edinburgh club site and we were very impressed with everything. It was immaculately maintained, very clean and extremely helpful staff. If we'd had our grandchildren with us they would have had a ball - such a good play area. It's a 10 - 15 minute walk to the bus stop but if that's too much they run a shuttle bus service into the city from the site which is very convenient.

stayed at this site at least once a year for 6 years

excellent site very clean and well cared for by the endless work the wardens do every day, the wardens are friendly and helpful, the site is a short bus ride into the city and the bus stop is a few min walk. great location great site the facilities are very clean the reception has milk bread ect. there is also a mini bus that takes 8 people that runs from the site you can get a return journey I think in high season the last bus back is 8pm only 1 small downfall the main service pitches we choose to go on are parallel to a busy road so some traffic noise and the site is on the flight path for Edinburgh airport but no noise in the late evening from the planes having said all that the 2 little things will never stop us visiting the site again and again the positive way out does the negative Well done wardens Sandra & K en xx

Great Location and Facilities

We have now stayed at this site four times, our most recent just last week. The wardens were welcoming and helpful. The facilities were clean and tidy- even the bin areas! Great location with easy access to central Edinburgh and further afield and a lovely wide promenade along the Firth of Forth for walks.

Excellent Location and Site

We love this site, very easy access to Edinburgh by bus, only a 15 minute walk to the bus stop from the site. The facilities are always immaculate and the wardens really care that you stay is faultless. Even when the site is full it feels calm and peaceful. We can't wait to return.
