Good booking

Visited Edinburgh club site found very clean and staff very friendly.Due to arriving with motorhome had to go to catch bus if to visit the great city the bus stop however was a fair walk.Although Edinburgh made up for the walk. Also went down to the beachside and found very busy with families .Downside was when looking for a plot a old guy had put two chairs on a plot to save for his friends thought this unfair but enjoyed stay after finding another plot....

Great first visit!

We have visited Edinburgh many times over many years but this was a first for us being so close to the coast. We live near to Newcastle airport so the noise of the planes certainly didn’t bother us. We loved exploring the local area. Visiting Cramond Island and the great little cafe along the way on Scotland’s Bondi Beach! There’s a Morrisons within walking distance. Brilliant area for touring. Fab little dog walk on site with many little tracks. Can’t wait to return.

A Capital Site

Edinburgh is one of our favourite sites and it never fails to meet our expectations, any time of the year. The staff are always friendly, attentive and efficient. The facilities are superb and kept extremely well. I have fallen short of full marks across the board for two reasons, neither of which are the fault of the staff or club. One is traffic noise if you get a pitch beside the road and the other is the disgusting litter problem on all roads and paths leading to and from the site. The traffic noise cannot be helped but Edinburgh City Council should be ashamed of the state of the footpaths and verges. That said, we had another fabulous weekend and made full use of the minibus service which is excellent. Looking forward to our next visit

Lovely weekend

We went for 2 nights in Nov and returned for 4 nights over Easter. Spoilt for choice of pitches - all lovely. Great dog walk on site and trees / nature. Beach across the road and down 106 steep steps. Kids enjoyed doing the tourer explorer book and scavenger hunt. Chip van Fri night. Great weekend.

Perfect for Edinburgh

Great site for visiting Edinburgh. Used the local bus service which is about a 15 minute walk from the caravan site. Used the car for visiting the Royal Yacht and Holyrood Park, no problems with traffic or parking. Excellent wardens, arrived and given a tourist information leaflet on Edinburgh and an additional piece of paper with information put together by the wardens to assist with our visit. Lots more leaflets in the information room, so visiting was off to a flying site. Remember that English Heritage and National Trust have reciprocal arrangements with Historic Scotland, so we got into Edinburgh Castle for no cost. Fish and chips were great.

Great site for Edinburgh visit

Spent three days here on route to relatives near Glasgow, as we wanted to visit the city, and attractions. Site is securely enclosed on a side of the estuary, but alongside a bit of a noisy at times road. Also arrival and departure of airplanes to the local airport, can be heard, but that said it is NOT excessive. We used local bus services to the city, and found them very efficient. Walk to bus and shop is easy, but not near. Overall a great site, within reach of city, and walks along the waterfront, are a bonus. Approach from the A1 is through the outskirts, but it looks easier from the M6 side of England

Tour of Area

Visited the Edinburgh site first week of April in order to visit the city of Edinburgh and surrounding area. It was quite easy to access the motorway and other main roads.A bonus was the mini bus service to Edinburgh city from the site.A 15 minute journey and £6 return. It saved a long walk to and from the public bus into Edinburgh. Several takeaways and supermarkets within a couple of miles of the site. Pitches and facilities as you would expect on a CMCs. Down side was the constant sound of aircraft taking off and landing at the very near busy Edinburgh airport. Lovely walk along the Forth across the road from campsite.

Edinburgh Warden Service

The warden was wonderful. She answered all my queries in detail. So much so that she even pointed me to two post boxes depending on when I wanted my letter to be picked up. Could not fault her. She was the best Warden I have come across. A pity other Wardens have not been so well trained - Bladon Chains could learn a lesson from Edinburgh where, as an early arrival, I have been sent back onto the road. Points score for Edinburgh 10 out of 5 .

Travelling with small children

We stayed at this site for two nights while making our way up to the Highlands with our two small children. The site was easy to get to, very clean and well laid out. The facilities for young families were really good, the children enjoyed a play on the park, seeing the bug hotel, and a bath in the toilet facilities. The site is also well situated for exploring Edinburgh, and we enjoyed being able to leave the van parked and take the bus into the City centre, and to Edinburgh Zoo. The buses were inexpensive, and easy to navigate, particularly with the help of staff at reception who were more than happy to furnish us with timetables and travel information to make our journey smooth. I am sure we will be back.
