Good site with good bike security arrangements

Had a 3 night stay last weekend primarily to visit The Royal Highland Show and do some cycling. Site staff very helpful and gave good advice regarding best public transport to the Show as driving/ traffic is a nightmare. I was given access to a secure bike locker for our 2 bikes as cycle thefts can occur locally. The locker has an alarm which was easily armed/ disarmed and I appreciated the use of the locker- we had no issues. We had an enjoyable cycle almost entirely off road using cycle paths to South Queensferry then across the old Forth Road Bridge which has dedicated cycling lanes. It’s safe and very popular - we were cyclists 447 and 448 the day we visited. Overall a good visit and returning in August.

What a suprise

Stayed here for 2 nights , excellent staff. Great security for bikes. Loved the position to access cycle routes through the city, coast, shops. Felt like we were in the country. Well kept site with lovely garden spaces. Well done. We certainly will return.

Good location for the city

Stayed for three nights as a base for visiting Edinburgh. Wasn’t sure what to expect when travelling through Edinburgh from the Eastern side because of pot holed roads and lots of light industry but the site was peaceful and though large didn’t feel it. Facilities were good and clean, staff were helpful and went out of their way to give advice. The site was fully booked so was glad I booked well in advance. Bus 27 was very regular and took you to all the key tourist destinations and used the day ticket to go to more than one location. The walk along the coast, past the golf course to Cramond foreshore, offered excellent views and easy cycling. Departure west towards the Forth Bridge was easy. Will definitely stay again.

A great site to visit Edinburgh

This was our first stay on the site and we liked it much better than the one we had chosen last time for our first visit to Edinburgh. It's a quiet place, well kept with not new but very good facilities and friendly wardens. We only stayed for 2 nights and didn't have the time to take a walk along the sea. Will make sure to stay longer next time as the location of the site is excellent for doing both : take a nice walk and visit the city. What we really appreciated was the minibus service by Graham, who drives you to the city centre in no time, more or less 10 minutes, and books you for the return drive, which you can change by just giving him a call. This is so much more comfortable and social than public transport. The city of Edinburgh is well worth being visited more than once, as there is so much to see and do. Looking forward to stay at this site next time!

Very well kept site

First of all was a lovely warm welcome from very friendly staff. They have plenty of information about the surrounding area & were able to answer every question we asked. The site is kept beautifully. In the week we were ther the staff were out come rain or shine working to keep it looking as lovely as it is. Well situated for getting into Edinburgh with a good bus service just a 10 min walk from site. Our advise would be to take the no:27 bus it gets you into town within half an hour the no:16 took an hour. Although a little dated the shower/toilet facilities were very clean & have to have the best shower pressure of any club site. Only one little bug bare was nothing to do with the Club but some members who thought it was ok to just let their dogs wander onto people's pitches to toilet. I know accidents happen but some were blatantly letting leads go long while walking past. Come on folks have some consideration, keep a short lead & don't give us dog owners that adhere to rules a bad name. On the whole would highly recommend & will return.

Paradise in The BIG City

We booked this site at the last minute but have used it before , its really an oasis with beautiful garden area's and even has a Bug Hotel !!! . We found all the wardens to be a wealth of knowledge of the local area and couldn't do enough to help all the site campers , its really like the league of nations with at least 8 different nationalities on site when we were there . Keep up the good work wardens

What a cracker

Our second visit to the Edinburgh site and not disappointed. A wee garden haven so close tho Scotland's Capital, plus a beach just on the door step. I played the Silverknowes golf course just next door, quite and open course but very nice and only £24.00 for 18 holes. We drove over the new Road Bridge and followed the Fife Coastal route to St Andrews stunning "the weather was nice on this day" great lunch in the Village of Elie such a pretty bay. Surprised to see travellers using the site but they was no bother. Wardens at this site was particularly helpful and worked their socks off to keep the site pristine Thanks guys

A Great City Break

We were met by friendly staff on our arrival and given good information relating to the site and the local area. We popped into the reception a couple of times for information relating to local transport and restaurants. The site was very clean and well kept and again the wardens were checking that we were enjoying our trip and the experience on site. Would definitely recommend this site and would use it again on a visit up to this area.

Nice site in convenient location.

This was our second stay at Edinburgh and we found the site very peaceful with good facilities and helpful staff. Although conveniently close to Edinburgh and full on the nights we were there it was very quiet. The dog walk is excellent and the site is close to the sea and a small beach. We were not able to find many places to eat within a short distance.
