Lovely site

Daleacres always delivers! A lovely peaceful location with plenty of space between pitches, immaculate facilities, excellent dog area and within easy reach of some lovely places to visit -Camber sands, Rye etc This was my third visit and am already booked for a week in October.

Late half term visit.

Stayed here for four nights until closing day this week. We had a wonderful time. The staff and Warden were extremely kind, friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back next year!

Excellent in October!

We’ve just returned from a week at Daleacres. It’s quite a big site and the layout gives the impression of plenty of space - no regimented rows - but I rather think it may be quite congested and busy in the main school holidays. The staff are friendly and the toilets immaculate with Radio Two gently playing. A good site for a stop over on the way to/from France or a weeks birdwatching or sightseeing. Dover Castle, Rye and Canterbury are all in easy reach.

Friendly staff, well maintained.

I must praise the diligence of the staff in keeping the toilet block so clean and tidy, and also for their friendliness and good humour. Their warmth certainly enhanced my stay. Thank you all.

Ideal location for some of the best of Kent

We stayed at Daleacres for just over two weeks at the beginning of September and had a really enjoyable time there. It is an ideal location for exploring Dover, Dymchurch an Dungeness with loads to see and do. Dover castle is an excellent historic location to visit. The staff on site were cheerful, polite and helpful. They do an excellent job of keeping the site clean despite the unsanitary and disgusting habits of some of the other campers on site. The staff are a credit to the club. The site is quite large and was busy during our stay but it was peaceful and quiet and there was no need to queue for toilet or shower even though there is only one large toilet block for the site. I would recommend the site for visiting the area and plan to return there in future

No problems - recommended

Compared with some of the previous reviewers it seems we were lucky. We stayed for 8 nights 9-17 September 2018. This was our third visit to Daleacres and we had no problems again. We pitched up on grass in the centre of the site away from the road and the play areas and it was great – very quiet with no traffic and no kids passing by. The toilet block was spotless as usual and the wardens we had contact with (two ladies and a gentleman) were very nice. The location of the site is also very quiet and excellently placed for visiting loads of great places including castles and cathedrals, wildlife parks, beaches, pubs, vineyards and breweries, trains, picturesque villages, a brilliant fish and chip shop in Hythe, an amazing fresh seafood shop at Dungeness etc etc etc..... there are endless things to do in that part of the world or you can of course do absolutely nothing. We just keep going back and Daleacres is ideal. We should add that we always avoid the school holidays so the only kids were of the pre-school variety and the usual shouting, screaming and grizzling was minimal!

Nice stay, but......

Stayed at Daleacres for four nights in early September, generally had a nice stay, the wardens were polite and helpful on my limited contact with them. The dog exercise field is excellent and with access to a public footpath directly from the site for those longer walks over the adjacent fields. I would make the following negative comments. The site is quite large and open and hence when it was full on two of our nights there it felt a little crowded. The toilet / shower facilities are not really adequate for a site of this size, just five toilets, six showers but seven washbasins. I never understand why the washbasins don't get converted to showers as they seem to be underused whilst six showers for over 140 pitches means queues at peak periods. The facilities were nice and clean after the wardens had been cleaning them but I cannot get over how disgusting some members are with their hygiene! I often found toilets not flushed and / or in a filthy state, perhaps some members have never mastered the skill of flushing a toilet or using a toilet brush! My wife advised me that the female toilets were also often in this condition, one occasion four of the six toilets being left in an unusable condition by previous users without the need for them to be cleaned. Why should the wardens have to clean up after such disgusting individuals. Not sure why the Caravan Club is going in to Yurts for hire. What next? Fleets of static caravans. Aren't we meant to be a club for tourers / motorhomes? Sorry but not one of my favourite sites.

Very unfriendly

Very unfriendly staff especially one older gentleman that thought he was better then everyone else and shouldn’t be there if he doesn’t like the job .I said good morning to another staff and was totally ignored. The dog walk has now been moved which means that people walking there dogs have to walk through the children’s playing field and so the dogs are messing in there before they get to the dog walk yet the original dog walk which was perfect as they didn’t come into the field is all over grown. The office seemed to be closed more times then it was open and this was August bank holiday and when we left the office was shut and had to leave the barrier key through the letter box which I think is totally rude there needs to be a big shake up in staff and put people in there that are happy to work there we were very disappointed.
