Lovely site - We'll definitely return
Crossways was a lovely site. We stayed for the half term week with two small children. Staying down in The Dell section of the site, it was lovely and sheltered and it felt like you were in a little glade of a forest. The compost loos were a revelation - I have only ever used the little compost loos in sheds so was delighted to find that these were really well ventilated and clean.
The site is lovely and quiet, but for the train which hoots as it is so near to the level crossing. There were lovely touches - a wheelbarrow of herbs, colouring sheets for the kids. The warden was lovely too. In fact, everyone we met who looked after the site was super helpful and really welcoming.
In terms of location, we were happy to be close to Lulworth Cove and Castle, only a 15 minute drive. We made use of the pool and ski slope a couple miles down the road at Warmwell too.
We will definitely return. The only drawback, no barbecues.
