We've just spent the weekend there and as we only live down the road in Worksop, it's still like being away from it all and you forget what is on your doorstep. The kids loved being pitched up near the park and playing all-day, whilst we chilled out with our friends!
The wardens have changed this year and are lovely, and much more relaxed...if they have the room, you can stay on later than the check out time...just let them know. Will definitely be going back soon.
Great site with exceptions
Great site but no signal for mobile etc,. found this difficult as family members at home became ill and needed to contact us ...... When asked at the site office how people could contact us was told they would leave a message outside of the office on the board quite worrying as they shut up shop in the evening. Went home early in the end. Apart from all of that the site is good and wonderful walks to be had.
A site with a split personality
Stayed at this site in June/July 2015. It is fabulously located and surrounded with woodland containing many paths and much wildlife. The welcome is above average from the Wardens and they work hard to address the challenges that this site must provide for them. One of the facility blocks is tired and needs refurbishment and the wi-fi is non-existent at times. There are also the usual string of people complaing about thefts of bicycles and equipment - despite the clear warnings. During the week the site is calm, relaxed and a pleasure to be on. The proximity of the lakes and NT properties is a real bonus. At the weekend, there can be a huge influx of vans and the site becomes very busy, - hence my title. Overall, a great site and location with a few compromises.
Five Star Service!
We hadn't visited Clumber Park for a few years, but it was still as welcoming as ever. Our pitch was level and spacious, the facilities were clean and in good repair and the wardens were helpful and friendly. Although the site was quite full it really didn't feel "busy". The only off putting thing (and this is not the responsibility of the site) is that cycles are allowed in all areas of the Park which can make walking a bit hazardous sometimes!

visiting family
The site is great for visiting my family, but make sure your arrange a time to meet as there is no phone signal. The site is big but is well organised that you don't really notice it until you walk round. Had a lovely walk to the lake at Clumber park very quiet as it was after 4pm. Plenty to do in the area and not far from Sheffield. Wardens were very friendly. Well worth a visit

Another enjoyable overnighter
A lovely friendly site, wardens were very helpful. we stayed there en route to Royal Vale Cheshire we intended to visit the National Trust Clumber Park in the afternoon of our arrival but it poured with rain so we didn't, however , the next morning was fine and sunny we had already hitched up when we realised we couldn't arrive at RV until 3'O/clock so we unhitched left the van across the pitch put the wardens in the picture why the van was not pitched correctly and spent a super couple of hours going round the NT new green house and kitchen gardens , Thanks to the wardens for being helpful and understanding.

Data protection!!!
We have recently returned from our annual visit to Clumber with our Grandson aged 9. We had a wonderful time but I would love someone to explain to me why our pitch number could not be given to a visitor who the office had already been told would be arriving?? Clumber is a dead area for mobile usage, there is no wifi so we could not advise our visitor In advance, we had already told the warden in the office that they would be arriving and requested they be directed to our pitch but, because of red tape they had to spend had to spend half an hour
driving around the site looking for us! Why all the secrecy? Do you frequently have international crooks staying on the site who need anonymity? Not us, I'm happy for people to know where I am. They may just need to find me in a hurry because of an emergency and not have half an hour to spare to look for us!!! A answer would be appreciated.

went for a slumber in Clumber
Nice location for walking and cycling.Thought the grass could do with a cut.Did not like the 30% of the toilet facilities being locked during the week.
Would defiantly go back.

Shame about the jokers
What a stunning setting this site us in. We will be returning for sure. The bike stands where very useful. It's a shame our visit was spoiled a little by the worrying notices about bike theft and the jokers who locked every shower and toilet cubicle door and also blocked up all the toilets.......some folk huh !
Another great break at Clumber
Another relaxing break, ticks all the boxes for the kids, can't get them in on the night. Bike lock up great since lock up time has been extended in the evening. Staff very helpful and pleasant. When the family want to go back again..that says it all. Thanks
