Couldn't fault it

Took a chance on the site because caravan club issued a warning of possible building noise from adjoining College, there was no noise and the site is so near Cirencester you could walk through the local park to the beautiful old town in 20 minutes, within 15 minutes drive is the Cotswold Water Park which includes approx. 150 lakes, many of which do numerous water sports, great for the family . The club site itself was spotless ,very well kept with very spacious pitches. The wardens were all very helpful and we would definitely return.

Impressive

We only stayed for 1-night in late September, whilst travelling to a family gathering further south. A warm welcome from the pleasant staff and although almost full, we were able to choose a pitch of our liking. The Shower/toilet block appeared new and was spotlessly clean. A short and pleasant walk past the cricket & tennis clubs and through the park and into Cirencester itself. The long entrance onto the site itself may be slightly off-putting to some. As another member has commented - there are a few potholes and we had to negotiate around students and minibuses in the roadway. The pitch we chose was on the perimeter of the site and the slope did require some work to level the caravan. The trees could well block the sun, but in our case, it was the rain dropping from the leaves onto the roof (Schoolboy error in my setting-up!). These are very minor points to an excellent site as far as we can tell and we will certainly return next year.

Nearly perfect!

We had stayed at Cirencester many years ago, and weren't disappointed. The site is very pleasant, the welcome and facilities good. The noise from the adjacent college site was minimal, and the entrance road navigable if a little third world! Although phone signal was limited if adequate, the data signal was fine, so we didn't need pay for the Wi-Fi, so can't comment on this. The TV booster facility was first rate. (The previous site we'd stayed on had poor phone and data signal, and both Wi-Fi and TV booster were of fluctuating quality.) Our only real criticism is the time it took us to find a pitch level enough: the first we tried had too much of a slope for us to level the caravan even with one ramp propped on another, though I did see later that some vans had ignored the CC regulations and parked across the pitch! The one we found - with the slope front to rear - was fine, though a less tortuous dry route other than across the grass and some mud would have been appreciated. Altogether, a pleasant few days, which we may well repeat!

A Gastronomic Delight

For personal reasons spent the maximum 21 days on this site during September. It is one of our favourite sites and meets the high club standards in all aspects. Even the road past the college is better now they have filled the tank traps in, at least on temporary basis.  One of the highlights of this site is the local produce that is so easily available. From the wood fired pizza's on a Thursday night, to tasty tomatoes and vegetables from the Duchy Home Farm. If you like your meat, local Gloucester Old Spot and Dexter Beef is available from Butts Farm Shop, towards South Cerney, or from Jesse Smith Butchers in town. The New Wave fish shop near M&S has a very good range of fresh fish, whilst 8 miles away very fresh trout can be purchased direct from Bibury fish farm. If you want to travel a little further, Upton Smokery near Burford is well worth a visit, their take on confit is to be recommended. To wash it all down some very good wines and beers, along with a tour of the winery are available at 3 Choirs near Newent (35 miles) and coffee from Keith's, just along from the butchers in town. If you don't want to cook the Tunnel Inn, about 5 miles from the site back towards Tetbury, sources it's food from many of the above establishments.

Lovely site

The site is easy to find but if you have a large vehicle it is difficult to manoeuvre down the site entrance. Pitches are quite private along the edges. We had one near the school which was a little noisy but we expected it as we had been pre warned so not a problem. Some of the outside pitches are very sheltered which would be great in Winter but if you were looking for a sunny pitch pick one in the middle. The site is brilliantly located for the town centre. The walk through the park alongside is lovely - we really enjoyed exploring the park and the areas just outside. The town is typical Cotswold but bigger. It still retains the feel of a smaller village but with more facilities. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. I cant comment about the toilets/shower block as we did not use however the rest of the site was very well maintained and clean. A warm welcome from the owners too.

Great site

This is a lovely site. It is clean, spacious and where we parked it was level though non of the pitches were very steep. The toilet block was immaculate with plenty of hot water and we were there when the site was full. Staff were helpful and courteous. It is a short walk into town. The potholes on the approach road were being filled whilst we were there and although they were building next door it wasn't too noisy.  All in all a very pleasant stay. We will return!

brilliant site

The site was easy to find great locaton, the bathurst estate wa very impressive, my only gripe was the road past the college was abomb site , ie full of deep potholes , but this could be due to the building works.Thestaf were efficient without bing intrusive,  I think some of the pitches are on a gradient that sherpa tensing would havestruggled with , on the whole enjoyed it very much.

Noisy but beautiful

Building noise and evening event noise [College and World Cup at Cricket Club] was off-putting. Location is great for the Cotswold. Cirencester is a bustling town with good variety of quality shops and the park next to the landscaped site. Easy walk into town for able and the less able. Best wifi I've experienced! Wardens helpfully change our future bookings because of the weather and my wife's ill-health. Almost dog walking heaven so not a site for those that do not like dogs.
