Cirencester

When we booked this site, we didn't realise it was half term! We pitched on a part of the site which was away from the play area so it was quite quiet. The children on the site were having great fun in the lovely play area. For us, we thoroughly enjoyed exercising our dog on the fabulous dog field - fabulous - and we enjoyed walking through Bathurst Estate to go shopping in Cirencester - great time - would definitely stay here again.

Not the usual Caravan club standard

Having stayed at Cirencester a number of times, we were looking forward to a further 3 night stay, but sadly were disappointed. Though the weather had been atrocious, the grass was very long and untidy, a number of the hard standing pitches had weeds and grass growing on them, and overall the site looked unloved and unkempt. As part of our Cotswold Tour we stayed at a number of sites who'd managed to cut the grass and so it cannot be solely put down to the recent wet weather. In addition, many of the hardstanding pitches could really benefit from the Caravan Club spending some time and money making them more level, as currently it makes it almost impossible for a unit to pitch up successfully.

Town and country

Well located for a very pleasant walk through the park to Cirencester which has a very good range of shops. Best dog walk ever encountered on a club site. Wish my lawn was as good but not as large. Access road is the only negative with many potholes and often busy with students from adjoining college but do not let that detract from your stay. Helpful wardens and good facilities.

Disappointed

This is a mixed site of hard standing and grass, we were left with a few grass pitches which were very wet. This site has good facilities which are clean as you expect from caravan club sites. We were expecting a nice peaceful night but oh how wrong were we, loud music from the adjoining field went on until 1am, the volume seemed to increase as the night got later. We should have stayed for 3 nights but as we had no sleep until the early hours we decided to leave after the first night as we didn't want to chance another evening like the first. If you want a peaceful site, don't pick this one.

Untidy site

Although there were showers of rain some days the wardens left the grass, guess no-one wanted that job but four of them spent Saturday selling raffle tickets to members! Site looked untidy cos grass was long, pitches needed weeding, several needed more stones and loads are so uneven and sloping that they are nearly unusable.  That said its a great location, quiet site and we liked the variety of mobile takeaways that called, if you don't fancy cooking. Come on wardens, it's great that you're friendly but you are supposed to do some work on the grounds as well.

Good stay

We stopped over on this site on the way back from our holiday in France on our way back home. Arrived in the late arrivals about 24.00 and found it easy to pitch up for the night. Moved onto a pitch the following morning for our second day on site Access road into the site does need some attention as it full of potholes Staff very helpful, site very clean and well run, only disappointed we could not have stayed longer but will return at some stage in the future. Best to call site direct to confirm that you are going to arrive late and need the late arrivals area, if this is the case.

OH DEAR!

Not really impressed.  For us, too big, too many unlevel hard standings, many of which are scruffy and need some TLC.  Too many narrow pitches crammed onto the site resulting in cars having to park in front of caravans, resembling a giant car park in places.  When will the Caravan Club start putting its members before profits?  Moreton in Marsh is exactly the same and is not a nice place to stay.  Toilet block perfectly functional and kept very clean, wardens very efficient although there is an issue with them letting people stay on site beyond 12 which caused us a big problem as we had to sit for 10 minutes at 12.15 blocking a road while we waited for four caravans to exit the site and make their way down an extremely narrow one track lane.  This has to be rethought please wardens!  The site is in a perfect position within easy walking distance to Cirencester - a fantastic town with everything you could want.  Choose your pitch carefully though, and don't break your neck to get there too soon after 12 - it's guaranteed you will have to sit waiting!  What a shame.

Choose your pitch carefully.

The weather was unkind, the pitches nicely spread out and the dog walk really nice for sociable dogs. Loud music from afar  marred our first night. Toilet facilities good on block I used. Went for peace and quiet but with wi-fi access. No wifi fi on my pitch and the warden could only suggest I went to information room to pick up.Glad I didn't get on to pay!Weather got worse so we abandoned but the wardens were kind enough to be calling on each van to se if everyone was OK. Brisk walk to town and probably nice walks on estate if it hadn't been such unseasonal downpours. Would visit again.

Great Stopover Site in Fab location

Once again great stay at Cirencester, it was a very wet weekend but managed a walk through the park to the town and had a fabulous meal in The Fleece. Showers and Loos on the site very clean and the wardens very pleasant.
