Cirencester excellent But!

A very pleasant site well run by very genial wardens.  Give them 100% BUT is it really necessary to have piped Radio 2 in the Shower Block . Unintelligible words drowned out by the inevitable noises in a Male Shower and Toilet facility!  Music suitable for teenagers, if you could hear it.  My suggestion just turn it off.  It does not had value and is not a common facility in othe sites. Sorry to complain but really!!

Cotswold show

Lovely site very hard working and dillegent wardens especially amiable couple from Haverfordwest.  Only downside the poor condition of entrance lane and dirty tops to large dump bins also heavy to open.

Great for a visit to Cirencester town.

Only stayed two nights on our way to Wales but really liked it here. Had always wanted to visit Cirencester and the walk through the park to the town was great. Nice shops there too. Facilities great and very clean. Wardens efficient. No negatives.

Bad experience with access to site.

We arrived at about 4 PM on Sunday July 3rd.On turning into the access road we were confronted with a continuous stream of cars coming towards us . It turns out that it was towards the end of the annual Cotswold Show . The access lane was being used as the exit from a huge car park . Eventually , we had to just push our way through . This was a very bad experience . The staff at the site seemed unable to see that there was any problem . - it was just our bad luck arriving when we did ! We had no prior warning of the potential situation . No attempt had been made to make any arrangements to cope with the situation . ( A person at each end of the lane with a radio would have been useful - and only necessary in the few hours when the car park was emptying ) .

Long Weekend Stay

Our 1st Visit to Cirencester Park.  We stayed for a long weekend here & benefited from the Cotswold show also being on which was great plenty of entertainment & stalls to browse. On arrival we were greeted by two cheerful wardens. Penny went through all we needed to know regarding the site & explained it was extremely busy but highlighted where hard standing pitches were available.  We found a great pitch 91 which was great as the sun shine was on most of the day. With great neighbours who we shared a bottle of wine with. The Facilities were excellent, toilets & showers were clean when ever we used them. Plenty of information around the site of visiting takeaways.  Information room had everything you needed to know about the area & directions of how to get there. We strolled round the site to look at the play area & dog walk in readiness of our next visit with our granddaughter & Dog & were very impressed with both & the bonus of a large play field also. The shop was stocked with all the basics you might need & bonus was the newspapers. "I'd ask the warden Ray to deliver" lol  Comments on overgrown grass & muddy pitches i think personally were OK considering the weather we have had recently.  The Wardens were cutting grass weeding & lopping overhanging branches whilst we were there & the site looked great. It was also nice to see the wardens in the evening walking "Boris" & chatting with members. Will definitely be back.

A disappointing visit

We have stayed at Cirencester Park on many occasions as it is convenient for visiting family. As always the welcome could not be faulted and when we visited the toilet blocks they were, as always, immaculate. However we were very disappointed with the condition of many of the hard standings. The one we chose (no 83) was a mass of weeds over more than 2 thirds of the pitch. It was impossible to identify the edges because the grass had grown over the border. We had to drive through mud to get on to the pitch which meant washing the car wheels every day. It is still a very pleasant site but shows a need of serious attention.

Despite the rain

We only had one night here and it had been raining for a while when we arrived. The soaking wet warden cheerfully showed us a choice of pitches in two different parts of the site(all water logged)...I was happy to reverse in as per his request in order to assist us being able to get back off again the following morning. Can't blame anyone for bad weather and I can't fault the warden for his request. As usual all the facilities were spotless and I quite liked having some nice music playing in the shower block. Lovely Cotswold town nearby and some great walking routes.

Better drainage or more hard standings

We have just had a 5 night stay at Cirencester Park and the weather was appalling - heavy rain every day except for last Monday. We have stayed here twice before and prefer the grass pitches at the top end to be near to the dog field which is excellent for our black Labrador. As all the hard standings were taken in any case, we pitched up on a pitch which backs onto the Play Field which was fine except that it very quickly became a quagmire, in common with all the other pitches around. Obviously, no one can help the weather but I think it would be useful if the Club were to investigate the drainage in that area to see if it can be improved. Alternatively, and as was suggested by our neighbours who said they live on the South Coast and were also going to write ("£88 for 4 days in a mud bath!"), perhaps it is time for the Club to install some good hard standings in at least some of that area, bearing in mind that some people prefer grass pitches. We shall stay again as it is generally a nice site, the Parkland is good for walking in, there is easy access to the charming town with its shops and eating places, and we have relatives not far away, but we will be very careful where we pitch in future, especially if rain is forecast!! One other point is that the access road, which is not owned by the Club but by the nearby College, is getting worse and is in need of resurfacing or at least some repair to make it fit for motor homes and cars and caravans to drive over. Thank you.

Great Site

The usual very friendly welcome to a very well kept site with good size pitches and good access to water and waste disposal. We were lucky to bag the last hard standing when we arrived as very popular and I can see why. It was a bit noisy at night with music drifting over from a music festival next door but it wasn't that loud and we had no problem sleeping (probably the alcohol). Park is a great place to walk in with lots of paths to explore and the town is great and has a good variety of shops and places to eat and enjoy a drink and a bit of people watching. We will be back
