Peaceful week

We recently stayed at this site and can thoroughly recommend it. Although the access road is quite bumpy it is easily navigable with care. The site itself was well laid out, the wardens are so helpful and the facilities are spotless. The walk to the town centre via the carriage drive in the Bathurst Estate was very pretty and the town itself has a good mix of modern and traditional shops. Overall location is great for exploring the Cotswolds and we will come again when the weather warms up!

Lovely Location

Second visit for us, beautiful site lovely location close to lovely dog walks into Cirencester. Sadly on this occasion we had problems with the pitch first one had too much slope and we were unable to get the van level and the second one was too small to take our awning without going onto the grass.

Cirencester Camp Site

We have just come back from a 3 night stay at Cirencester Camp Site. The wardens were excellent, they couldn't be more helpful. The facilities were spotless and the location was great for the town of Cirencester and also for the very nice walk through Cirencester Park. The only downsides were that some of the pitches were very narrow, so if you had an awning you would be squeezed onto your pitch, and we also found that a lot of the hard standings were very uneven and sloping. Our pitch had such a sideways slope on it that we had our Motorhome up on the top of our large ramps and we still could not get properly level, leaving a large drop down from our step out of the van. Having said this, it is in a good location and we would go back again but we feel that the Caravan Club should look at bringing some of the pitches up to the standard we expect of the Club.

Our last stay at Cirencester site

Although this is our third trip to this site we will not be staying there again. The site is very big and the pitches so narrow you are lucky to get an awning on the pitch. You also have to park your car at the front of the pitch which obscures your view through the front window of your caravan. The only wide pitches down the middle to the right of the shower block are taken up with massive motor homes. We were on a narrow pitch with no awning and the caravan next to us erected an awning and sun canopy. Then they proceeded to erect a row of wind breaks coming virtually within inches of our caravan. The people on the next pitch were under the illusion that they could use all the grass and there pitch up to our caravan. I really do think the caravan club should widen the pitches so all their customers can erect an awning and park their car along side their caravan. With all the price increases I think caravaners expect to be able to park on their pitch on one side and the awning on the other side of their caravan. Also pot holes on the road leading to the caravan site is getting really bad. Yes we know it is owned by the college but still cars and caravans could suffer some damage, especially as some of the pot holes are deep. Will be visiting other sites in the area next time.

As you would expect

Only had 3 nights here but liked it. Peaceful during the week but it felt a little crowded when it filled up for the weekend. Most of the pitches are narrower than usual so you have to park your car in front of your caravan which makes it feel somewhat snug. The site is well looked after and has easy access into Cirencester town. Plenty of places to visit around if you like to drive. The access road from the main road to the site is shared with the adjacent college. This road is pretty rough and the area looks run down. Once on site or walking in the adjacent park one doesn't have to use the access road much. We will certainly use the site again.

Great Location

Really enjoyed this site, its as described in an ideal location just a short 15 min walk in to town. The walk through the park is delightful. Toilets and showers spotlessly clean. My over riding memory is the lovely helpful wardens, we made a couple of school boy errors with with the electric hook up (we are newbys only 3rd trip) in our motorhome) and they were so helpful and very informative about the area. Cirencester is a very pretty town with some nice independent shops, bars and restaurants. The Thai was lovely. We went for a smashing bike ride all around the Waterpark, all flat 20 miles very pleasant indeed. Loved the look of the Fish and Chip van although we did not get to sample. Looking forward to visiting again sometime .

Peaceful break

We enjoyed our stay at Cirencester (March 2017). The site was peaceful and in a pleasant location with the added bonus of being just 20 minutes walk to the town. The Manager and staff on site were very friendly and helpful. On one occasion I had a problem with the electric hook up and was told someone would attend to it in 10 minutes. They arrived within 5 minutes and solved the problem. The approach road is not brilliant but is fine if you drive slowly and avoid the students walking to the college. We visited Westonbirt Arboretum and the Corinium museum. Both were very enjoyable. Excellent short break.

Cirencester park

Cirencester park is ideally situated for the town which easily accessed by a leisurely stroll from the site and through the grounds of Cirencester Park estate. Dogs are also welcome along this route, but note dogs are not permitted all around the estate grounds. As to the site the wardens are friendly and welcoming. Pitches are spacious inside tree covered grounds. Toilet facilities are first class and up to the usual standards expected. TV signal for terrestrial digital channels were hit and miss so having external aerial cable to connect to hook up point would be recommended. Saw plenty of units on site with satellite dishes set up so would appear to be ok for them. Town has plenty of independent shops which offers something different to the major chain stores.Lovely walk in park behind Church.Numerous eateries and cafe to please all tastes. Only gripe I had was wifi access which seamed to be limited connection only allowing email and connection to the clubs web site. Have visited this site several times and would recommend it.

Great Site

We stayed at this site for four nights in early December 2016. We received a warm welcome and the facilitates were spotlessly clean. It is just a short walk into the town, either through the park or along pavements. Whilst in the area we did some interesting walks which you can see on our blog www.twodogsandanawning.co.uk
