The first night in our campervan!

Well, this was quite an event, the first night in our newly acquired 'van and the first time at a CC site! We chose this site because we needed to attend a birthday party in Cirencester and this site proved to be perfect, we could walk to the party! It's a really nicely laid out site with lots of trees around, the amenities were first class and the staff very friendly and helpful. It's within easy walking distance to the very picturesque town. We couldn't ask for more really, very much recommended.

Another enjoyable Cirencester stay

We stayed at this site from the 9th to the 16th July. Whilst not peak holiday time, it was quite busy. At no time did it feel overcrowded, the facilities were clean and coped well with the numbers. We have stayed on this site 4 times now and always enjoy it. The walk through the park to Cirencester itself is lovely, as is the town. The site and area is highly recommended! The approach could be better, but as this is beyond the control of the Club, I don't think they should be criticised for it.

Room for Improvement

It was our first stay on this particular site and quite disappointed of the standard of the site compared to other club sites, the approach was scruffy coming down to the site although the site don't own it also we felt this about the site on our first impression, good location for a lovely walk into Cirencester, typical of alot of club sites too many trees spoiling the lovely views available, the wardens didn't seem as hospitable or as helpful as they normally are at other sites .A great location let down by a few things that could be better.

Excellent site but don't stay on serviced pitch 112

We had stayed on this site before & found everything to be ok except for the roadway into the site which had huge great potholes all the way down the roadway which was not owned by the Caravan Club. The roadway has now been repaired to a degree which is good. The Warden behind reception was very good & gave us a map of the site. We had booked a service pitch for 3 nights & were told there was 2 available, pitch 107 & 112. After trying to find these pitches arrivng back at reception again, the warden then gave us verbal directions to the pitches. When we looked for both pitches 107 was already taken so 112 it was. After setting up late afternoon we went & done a bit of shopping. Later that evening whilst having dinner, a couple of people came to empty their chemical toilets which were approx. 10 paces from the end of our pitch. The smell from these toilets made us urge & had to go inside to finish our meals. That is the only bad part of our stay, could something be done to shield anyone who stays on this pitch from this problem? i.e. a walled area in front or even bushes? The ironical thing is, there is an enclosed chemical disposal point in the toilet block just across the way.

Good location for motorhome.

First visit to site and we were happy with our pitch next to the excellent dog exercise area. Perhaps the system of driving in, then out and then back in to look for a pitch could be improved on. Lady warden who checked us in was very pleasant and helpful with details of the walk into town. Next day different lady in office, who told me in no uncertain terms that I couldn’t bring my dog into reception. I had looked for a notice before I went in, but didn’t see one. The irony was that there was a dog behind the counter! Sometimes it’s just the way things are said !!! Overall a lovely stay. The pitches were flat, large, sunny and easy to erect the awning. It is a perfect location to visit on foot, the beautiful town of Cirencester.

Lovely stay at Cirencester

First time at Cirencester, what a lovely friendly place. Where ever we went with my two dogs we were made very welcome. Weather was excellent and we enjoyed the park for walks and stopping for morning coffee at Lady Bathurst’s refreshment horse trailer “Beano” . The wardens were very helpful and told us where the best dog friendly pubs and restaurants were. Church beautiful inside and out and dogs allowed in . We were pitched on fully serviced , the awning pegs a bit difficult to get In ground but otherwise very nice pitch with sun and shade. Will be back .

Peace and tranquility

Back home today, had to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Cirencester for their constant care and assistance given to us and the site. We arrived there on the 7th July and reception was excellent. Although only 4 pitches were left we were directed to these and had no problem finding them. We selected one pitch 202 adjacent to the play park although we had no children with us we were not disturbed by any kids playing. It was also opposite the dog walking area again no dogs in our caravan, not much disturbance only on the first couple of days mainly evening walks time when there was a few small yappy dogs but over the 10 days stay no more problems. Wardens constantly keeping the refuse points clean and rubbish collected and walking the site keeping that clean at the same time stopping speeding vehicles as there were kids on cycles which some times got carried away didn't observe the general rules but they are kids and motor cars travelling at 5mph should be paying attention. All in all an excellent stay will definitely stay again. John & Dee

One of favourite sites

Lovely Cirencester Park site, a large site but well laid out so you don’t realise it’s so big. We were on one of the new service pitches, excellent. There for 8 nights beginning of July, very hot, lots of shade though, they had a problem with drains so not many showers open, but never had to wait. The site and facilities are very clean and tidy, a lovely big dog field and the wardens are friendly and helpful. Like being able to walk into Cirencester through the park. Lots of nice shops pubs ad cafes and very dog friendly. It was the Cotswold Show over the weekend and we went Saturday, I had prebooked tickets at a discount, a good saving. Excellent show, lots going on, dog agility, horse riding display, BMX bikers and the best bit, British Legion parachute display, it was very hot but there are shady places, lots of places to eat and drink and lots of stalls to spend your holiday money on :-) On Sunday we stayed on site and could hear what was happening next door and got a fantastic view from the dog field of the RAF parachute team flying in. Already booked for next year

Good location but site needs improvement

Firstly, the wardens were not the most welcoming. The one-way system is very confusing and we saw a number of people trying to locate a pitch driving off site and having to re-enter because of it. When it was suggested to the warden that changing one arrow would help, the reply was "It's been like that for a long time"! The Motorhome Service Point can't be accessed, once you are on site. The pressure in the toilets is inadequate, leading to repeated flushing, which wastes water. There are not enough water points for such a large site - 6 to 8 more are needed. It would be better to provide a map of the walk into town through the Park, rather than written instructions .Worst of all, there were lots of children on bikes, unsupervised and not obeying the one-way system, which was both annoying and dangerous, with so many large vehicles on the move. The wardens did not bother to take any action. The pluses: lovely trees and handy location. Not sure I would stay here again!

One of the best sites we've been to!!

Visited this site 21st to 24th june, we go away for long weekends every 2 to 3 weeks throughout the year, so visit a lot of sites. We sometimes struggle with pitches as we a have large RV, but no trouble here. So impressed with this site, we had great pitch, the whole site is just beautiful, everywhere so clean and well kept. It was very busy, lots of dogs, but couldn't believe how quiet it was. The dog walk is excellent, so much room. Our boy loved the doggy ice cream sold in the shop, a must in this weather! Thank you for thinking of our 4 legged babies! The short walk into town is lovely through the estate. Lots of pubs, we had no problem with the dog. Recommend the Asian lounge chinese, we had lovely meal in there, the best squid with chilli & garlic! lol.... This is definitely going on our list of favorite sites! WE WILL BE BACK :-) ... only one small thing nothing to do with site but someone else mentioned it in a review... one ignorant old man kept walking through our pitch grrrr surely its common sense if you are walking over someones hook up leads you are walking through their pitch!! rude!
