One of the best sites we've been to!!

Visited this site 21st to 24th june, we go away for long weekends every 2 to 3 weeks throughout the year, so visit a lot of sites. We sometimes struggle with pitches as we a have large RV, but no trouble here. So impressed with this site, we had great pitch, the whole site is just beautiful, everywhere so clean and well kept. It was very busy, lots of dogs, but couldn't believe how quiet it was. The dog walk is excellent, so much room. Our boy loved the doggy ice cream sold in the shop, a must in this weather! Thank you for thinking of our 4 legged babies! The short walk into town is lovely through the estate. Lots of pubs, we had no problem with the dog. Recommend the Asian lounge chinese, we had lovely meal in there, the best squid with chilli & garlic! lol.... This is definitely going on our list of favorite sites! WE WILL BE BACK :-) ... only one small thing nothing to do with site but someone else mentioned it in a review... one ignorant old man kept walking through our pitch grrrr surely its common sense if you are walking over someones hook up leads you are walking through their pitch!! rude!

Another great stay!

Just back from another lovely short stay at one of our favourite sites. Not too busy midweek so plenty of space on the grass pitches. Everything that can be said about the site has already been said. Will certainly be bacK later in the year.

Return after 6yrs

This was a return stay after a 6yr gap, lovely site in a beautiful area & within walking distance to Cirencester town. The only downside to this site was the continued speeding from quite a few members who should know better & also the amount of vehicles who didn't seem to know how to follow the one way system. This is something that the wardens would find hard to police because they can't see everything that goes on. On arrive the wardens explain everything, so why can't members obey the rules. I would like to thank the head warden for his help when we had a problem with our car and also lending the recovery service the electric cable extension so we could get home. Just a note for the head warden, the Land Rover has had a complete health check & the car needed an updated auto transmission software which unknown to us was a recall on the 2013 model. Thanks again & we will return.

Good location dog friendly town

Nice welcome great location standard caravan club facilities. Very narrow access road and can get busy with cars and pedestrian care needed. I really like site but what I didn't like was people cutting through your pitch walking around your caravan, also people cutting through the hedges. Very dog friendly town didn't have problems eating drinking out. Lots of shops and a nice park in centre.

Caulkhead

Fantastic site, pity about the road leading into site, one of the worst, very rough full of pot holes. But once you have negotiated the rally course, this fantastic site awaits you. Brilliant hard working staff, toilet block always clean and fresh, and the grounds clean and well maintained. Same old problem with kids racing around on bikes, and people with 3 -5 dogs per pitch.. but don't let this put you off, FANTASTIC site, Great location, lots to do and see on the doorstep. And a short walk into the Lovely town of Cirencester..

Lovely site but not able to specifically book hardstanding pitch

We arrived at this site on the Sunday of a bank holiday so we were expecting it to be busy and we were told there were only 2 pitches to choose from. That in itself is not a problem but they were both grass. Luckily it had been dry so we were able to park our motorhome on the one we chose with no issues. However I booked a standard pitch and expected it to be hardstanding like most club sites. If it had been wet we could have struggled. However we would visit the site again as it was very pleasant and peaceful even when full. There is a lovely walk through the Park into Cirencester which is a pretty town. We were very pleased to be told we could stay till 4pm on the Bank Holiday Monday, particularly as the weather was so beautiful.

Great location - easy walk to Cirecester town

Stayed for 3 nights last week and after a friendly and helpful welcome, very impressed with both the location and facilities (pity about the weather though!). Easy 15-20 min walk into Cirencester and handily located for Tetbury, Bibury, Malmesbury etc - all within 20 min drive. New full service pitches are huge - van + car +awning side by side on hardstanding. Will visit again.

Lack of choice of pitches on arrival

We have recently returned from the Cirencester site after a very wet start to the season. We note with dismay that sixteen of the prime sites have been turned in to fully serviced pitches. Not with-standing that they are already near service points and toilet blocks. The money could have been well spent on improving other pitches which badly needed attention and widening the roads to accommodate the ever increasing size of vehicles. Plus put in some paths to make it easier to walk to the toilet blocks especially when it is so wet. Why wasn’t the money spent towards negotiating with Cirencester College to improve the approach road on to the site which is appalling. It seems the sites are becoming elitist if you are prepared to pay. If the only pitch left is a red peg, one is being forced to pay an extra £3.90 a night. Not on. Quote-‘ WE don’t reserve pitches first come first served.’ Is it our club? We have spoken to three site wardens who say the subject is always bought up at managers meetings regards the unfair situation. We note that Cadeside will be having 14 new pitches next year, two of those will be Red pegs. It begs the question ‘why’? It is a transit small site. As I have mentioned earlier what choice do people have if it is the only pitch left? Does the Caravan Club realise in a few years’ time, a generation will not be able to pay the site fees!
