Cirencester - As Good As Ever!

Just back from a very pleasant 4 night stay at Cirencester Park, our 3rd visit this year. One of our favourite sites and never disappoints. Good weather, lots of walking and a visit to The Bell at Sapperton (highly recommended! ) Excellent facilities kept spotlessly clean by hard working warden team. Very busy over the weekend, good to see everyone enjoying the autumn sunshine - families with children and dog owners all getting along just fine. And to cap it all, a couple of fly pasts by planes visiting nearby Cotswold Airport at Kemble for the revival weekend. Last chance to use the grass pitches at the top of the park too. We'll be back!

Fabulous site, as always

We use this site three or four times per year, great location, great staff everything you would expect. But. Yes there is always a but. The access road is compromised by student parking, so why does the site allow members to check in prior to 1200, when it is obvious that members leaving will meet those arriving. The access road can't be altered, double yellow lines on the access road, no hope. So why not only allow check in's after 1300, and be strict about it. Problem solved.

One of the best

We have been to Cirencester Park site many times and we cannot fault it. The wardens are very friendly and helpful and the location is brilliant with easy access to Cirencester and all its dog friendly shops and cafes. The facillities are up-to-date and well maintained. There is also a dog field. It would be good to have a couple of benches in the dog field, so owners can rest and chat while their dogs play. The Full Belly van is an excellent addition for breakfast or evening meals.

Great site for dog owners

Loved the layout with lots of turns and cul-de-sacs around the site, although it did take us a day or so to remember the way to our caravan. Wardens all very friendly. Facilities clean and bright - plenty of loos - not quite so many showers and my husband actually missed having a shower on our last day as the queue was so long so not sure if it would be the same in the ladies if the site was full. Dog walking area an absolute godsend for exercising and socialising dogs whilst away from home in a caravan. I spent many hours on this and did a fair amount of socialising myself! The only slight grumble from me would be maybe just a few more lamp posts at night - I didn't feel too secure walking to the ladies or for a final walk with the dog late at night. Overall loved the site and our 4 night stay here and would definitely visit again.

Still a superb site (and pizzas!!)

We have stayed on this site many times as it is such a wonderful site in a great location right next to Cirencester Park which is within easy walking distance and open to the public, including dogs. The pitches are of a good size and the wardens keep the place spotless including the facilities. One great feature is the Pizza Van that is on site on Thursday nights. They cook the pizzas on site in a wood burner, and are as good as any I have had in Italy. They are very well priced and makes a huge change to the usual site fish and chip van. It is understandably very popular and fortunately we got there in good time as they had run out by the end of their session.

Perfect site

We stayed here recently to attend the local fair. What a brilliant campsite. The site is in a perfect location and the staff were very helpful. Lots of families were there when we were so it was easy to relax if you had a young family.

Lovely site

Stayed on this site over the weekend in our motorhome staff were very nice and friendly people on arrival. We chose a grass pitch close to the dog walk which was a very nice pitch, the dog walk area is very good and you can let your dog have a good run around. The short walk into Cirencester was very nice through the park and the town is a really good one with lots of shops ect. There was a lot of children riding there bikes around the site but they were all very well behaved and it was nice to see them enjoying themselves. We will definitely be using this site again.

No need

This is our third visit and all facilities are good, site is lovely and clean with a constant turn around of different units through the week. We have been here as adults only with dogs and we were here for the Cotswold show and I can honestly say even though I have dogs I found the dog barking utterly annoying on most occasions. Trees are lovely if you want shade from the sun which we always do. I was however utterly disgusted tonight Sunday 5th August to see some over sized male with no shirt on go into the so called children’s play are before 9pm and totally ball out some poor child, we were not far from the play area and could hear anything that would annoy until this prat started shouting at some poor child.....bully is the word that springs to mind. Why pitch near a play park if you have a problem with children having fun and being outside enjoying themselves!! Really disgusted!

We will be back...

Smart friendly welcome. Site in great location for exploring this part of the Cotswolds and Gloucestershire. Site and facilities well maintained. The Park next to the site provides an easy walk into town and also lots of parkland walks. For us it was ideal for dogs and the onsite Dog Exercise area first rate. Our stay was far too short, so much left to do and see. Shade this year has been important for many and you could seek out shelter if you needed it. On the afternoon of arrival we enjoyed settling in with a pot of tea and from Reception a Cream Tea pack of Scones, Clotted Cream and Jam. …..not a bad way to start the visit

Another great stay!

Once more back to Cirencester Park! We’ve been here many times since our first visit last year - we even moved to Cirencester itself in the interim! As usual, the staff are fantastic, always chatty and cheerful and very efficient - nothing that you ask is too much trouble. Our dogs love the site too and there are many doggy friends to be made in the dog-walk field (perhaps we could have a bench in there for us humans to sit on while our furry friends play......?). Overall, the site is very well kept if a little ‘crispy’ in places owing to the extended dry heat. The full-service pitches seem very popular as is ‘millionaires row’.....we will get on there one day! Even with the Cotswold Show, and the Fairford Tattoo the following weekend, the site never felt too busy, and the ‘Full-Belly’ food wagon which I believe comes Friday-Sunday, is a welcome addition when you do not feel like cooking. Location-wise, the site is vey well placed for access to Ciren through the Bathurst Estate (there’s even a coffee horse-box (!) down by the entrance for light refreshments) and the access road to the site has been ‘improved’ somewhat recently, but there are still a couple of large potholes to negotiate.... We notice that there are many ‘returners’ coming back time after time which, to my mind is a sure sign that Cirencester Park is a great site to visit.
